the EPA needs to be disabled and tell California to go to hell if California wants emissions then they can have stop forcing the other states to have the emissions
Yeah... bring back the lead, and acid rain.... Oh the smog... That was really dope!
@@Look_What_You_Did don’t forget world hunger, diesel smoke is probably responsible for that too. And all the worlds suffering 😂
@@Look_What_You_Did I said get rid of the EPA I didn't say bring back leaded gasoline which was the cause of the acid rain as for the smog that was caused by poorly maintained vehicles
US has the approach of just build a new greener vehicle ….. but to get the steel and precious metals and transport for all those components creates smog.
My glider factory invoice was 101k. Loaded all the options. Lockers, xl driveline, alum 5, ect
the finishing all in came 173k 5% interest. with a 3406e certified reman. 4 year unlimited. Arrived ready in October 2018. I have 804k miles on it today and all I have done to it are overheads at 150k and oil changes around 15k. (Rotella T gang holla)No downtime in 5.5 years.
That’s awesome

I doubt if Cummins or Detroit wants their engines to last 1 + million miles. Nor does the truck manufactures. It about sales, creating billionaires. Not about doing the best thing for the people.
Engineered obsolescence.
@@EvanSlattery Wrong.
Most automotive manufacturers design their products to go bad shortly after their warranty expires, BMW got caught doing this about 6 years ago
You're NOT wrong.

Yeah... bring back the lead, and acid rain.... Oh the smog... That was really dope!
Global warming is hoax .
In the land of the free we ain’t free!!!
Because we want freedom but won't pay for it.
You believed the saying “land of the free”? You fell for the oldest trick in the book
I had the complete emission system replaced under warranty, years ago . And just had the EGR valve replaced again a few weeks ago. The truck is 2014 KW with 180000 miles on it. I drive for a local construction company in NYC not over the road. We need smaller government.
Functional obsolescence is a real thing!
Insane!! I stopped driving my old 93 Pete in 2010. i had to swap the engine with a 97 year engine around 2006 to still be able to enter the Ports..Had the engine (Detroit) rebuild and still 1 Mil miles and It's better than most of the new engines.
When I sold my truck, a W900, C15 Acert in 2019 it had 1,128,000 miles & we’d not been inside the engine yet. I have no use for a new truck. And I know people that are still in the business that won’t even look at a PacCar engine or a truck with PacCar, to many problems.
Those were great engines !!!
Buy them and register them in Mexico
I see a lot of old trucks in Jamaica, Puerto Rico, Africa, and other places. I'm beginning to think they are smarter than our government. Just one of the reasons you see them running old R-model Macks, Inty Cabovers from the early 80s and other equipment. No DEF, No EGR, or other BS.
Right. It’s amazing how long they last
@@flintcreektransport Yeah, not uncommon to see 35, 40, and 50 year old Rs and other trucks still on the job.
@kman-mi7su and the same trucks that grossing 80k lbs in the states is netting 70-75k lbs in jamaica.
13:20: The description clearly lists the truck as Euro 3 compliant. That's a 23 year old standard. DEF came with Euro 4. So, they are saying "this is a pre-emissions truck" without saying it is a pre-emissions truck.
Right ….
@@flintcreektransport And obviously I made the comment before I saw you talking about the Euro 3 standard at the end of the video. 😂
The logging company I drive for mirrors your company closely. We're on the same page. Great video Justin, thanks.
Right on!
If they want “emissions” we should use the Euro 6 model. Those engines have the engine and dpf as two separate systems. No EGR, no VGT turbos, no derate, etc. On the Cummins Australia website they LITERALLY state they avoid EGR and VGT’s bc they’re unreliable and are inefficient components. It’s all about the money at the end of the day for the manufacturer and the EPA.
TBF those engines also use way more Adblue/DEF, than a traditional north American diesel emissions engine. Even still, run those hard & they'll last as long as the DPF will (including regular cleanings)
Back in the 80's and 90's a glider was cab sleeper and steer axle for 25000 to 30000, they started to get pricey with demand.
I drove a lot of gliders of that vintage.
Yes. When emissions came out the price of gliders skyrocketed
There should be a 50% emissions surcharge on every load hauled . That would put an end to this bullshit.
Right !!
Hopefully in the future, you can go down to Guatemala and make some videos on those X15’s with no emissions system.
I hope too
It's not about going greener it's about selling more trucks
The US is only country concerned about emissions...the rest of the World talks about it, but don't do anything about it !!! We are fools !!!
No emission engines for me, Gliders all the way !! Take care Justin 👍🇺🇸
Oh, Cat is building new factory C15's now, great !!
Uh no. Go take a peek at the UK. They are actually alot worse.
Can tell you not only have never left your country. You are not bright enough to realize everybody can look up information in other countries.
Here, referring the manufacturing super powers,
Russia, China, and India !!
Oh, I've traveled to over 25 countries too.....
US does pay the most to the climate accord act ….and they seemed to be most concerned but I do know there are some other countries getting strict on it
Great video Justin. X15 has issues in the design. Even a deleted one or pre emissions isx. Are not a million mile motor. Most will be rebuilt twice to get there.😂
Emissions. Perfect example of government overreach !
Started by, and controlled by, the office of the president. Unconstitutionally bypassing congress.
In most of Europe they are now building x15 & yes X17 758 HP with out EGR systems the EGR is the death of the diesel engine our great leaders won’t do that because it won’t create jobs
You can trade your old pre emission engines in for new content engines. All your old CATs can be exchanged for engines that are brand new. New crank, block, and heads. It's not reman it is newly casted and manufactured engines look it up
Good explanation Justin!
Gm sir, everything you said thus far makes every bit sense. Great researching and analysis. You really done your homework and I believe you have saved individuals a lot of money. Great content like always. 💯💯🏆🏆
Gliders have been a thing, clear back into the’60s.
x15 is a million mile engine. When they were deleted. Know of a few, that hit a bump. All that stuff fell off, all but one went 1 million miles. Same engine, doing the same job. 400,000 and had to be rebuilt.
Mr Justin,,,,hope U & Ur
Dad had an AWESOME FATHER'S DAY
Thankyou
We sent C500's, X15 with SCR only to China, was weird to look at in a new truck. No egr cooler, bare on the right side of engine, looked like pre-emissions ISX. The export units you see there were likely ordered for a customer that cancelled them. Could be consignments from Paccint that are sitting on the lot, or the dealer got stuck with them if they ordered them, , maybe destination changed their rules and they couldn't be shipped. We had a C500 6x6 that was Ero 3, they chaneged to Euro 4 while it was being built, cust had paid for it though, took about 12-13 yrs to sell it, had some offers, cust rejected the offers. They could have stripped the engine out and used it for spares, cab trans, axles, susp was useable on 75 others that were already over there, they wouldn't do it.
Interesting
Mandated emissions on engines should have a lifetime warranty on them, parts and labor, by the manufacturer. The various manufactures have no motivation to make these things reliable. As soon as the missions start cutting into Paccar/Cummins/Detroit/Volvo bottom lines the stuff will become awesome
Correct. They want everyone to trade up at 500k miles ….. more revenue for them !!!
I just moved up to north dakota for the oilfield. The amount of deleted x15's I see up here and Montana and south dakota.
Farmers just tear all that junk off of them..They dont care.
Right…… I know many guys just delete …. They become more powerful and more efficient….. is amazing how that works 😜!!!
I believe they would but would be for military vehicles.
John Deere makes tractors and combines here with no emissions for export only.
I have seen gliders with only frame cab and front axle .no engine , transmissions or rear ends . The only trucks you can use day to day is 2011 our newer in california . Denis from Santa Rosa Ca .
Why can't you be down here in Washington.D.C. Mr Flint Creek? I like to drive for guys like you who keep the old school trucking morals and love to have the older trucks! You probably don't even do OTR or even run loads as far as D.C. or even a little further south of D.C. either. That sucks! I'd love to drive for you!
Ha. Maybe someday
Built Freightliner and White glider kits back in the early eighties in Albany was always fun making the puzzle fit together
same goes for farm equipment I was at John Deere picking up a tractor and the one next to me had a number I didn't know and looking at it found out it didn't have emissions on it. It was going to the port for export only
You got the hook up in Guatemala. Buy a new day cab with the biggest X15 you can get, book a load to the US, cross into TX unload, pull the motor, sell the truck back into MX, haul the motor to NY 😁. Or you can give in, buy new trucks with the X15, warranty gets close , trade em in, get new ones, deduct it all 🤷♂...I know you probably ran the numbers on that scenario, there's gotta be a reason large fleets operate like that.
Yes ….. there are also large fleets that go out of business …..
It’s tuff any way you look at it. But at some point it will def be more of the run to 500k and swap.
Try contacting Haggai Diesel in Griffin GA. The specialize in Cummins engines. That's all they work on Nothing but ISX
Can’t wait until you get a new truck for Edison Motors or even do a retro kit in one of your current trucks. They have an awesome system. Electric the way they do it will be the future. It’s worked in trains for decades.
Locomotives are diesel electric, BIG diesels 1600 hp and up.
Check out Edison Motors. They have built a Semi Truck that is electric with a diesel engine that runs a generator to charge the batteries. They are also doing retrofits for 1ton trucks and larger. Very similar concept to the locomotive industry.
@@paulwalker9921 Most of them road locos are 4400 hp..
It is not the same as diesel electric trains, the diesel is powered up full rpm to run the train not batteries like Edison is doing. Trains pull many more tons than a truck does. The reason GM built electric drive motors in trains was so the axles could be separate saving tons in gear and axle weight on the train.
I seen them. Def a cool idea. But they are heavy haul trucks. Totally different application
You need to use the MaxMileage Catalyst from Pittsburgh Power. It will eliminate most of the emissions problems and clean your engine of soot, since soot is the root cause of major issues. It is good for any gas or diesel engines, and cleans them so they run better.
They already did...we called them big red..late 90s early 2000s...dual over head cams. 15 liters. 600 horse power.
Hi from France, we've had the Ad-blue thing here for years, all the trucks over here are electronically run,no more mechanical units. What i really don't understand what problems you are encountering.Don't get me wrong,i've also encountered problems mostly with the particul filter, with one truck they had to change the whole anti-pollution system. All these problems are fixed by the dealer and yep downtime is enormous. Then there is the quality of the Ad-blue....
Love your chanel.
A lot of what we haul is seasonal. Reliability is key !!! Have trucks down for long periods of time doesn’t work for us.
Justin,
Thanx for sharing this information with us

In December my fire department signed a contract for a truck we’re building or taking delivery in I believe 2026 because of the cost increase projection. I remember the rep saying the L9 alone $120,000 on it’s own at the time. We’re saving roughly $300,000 if not more. If we didn’t sign projected price was $1.2mil.
With the new emissions equipment, these trucks higher chance of having an exhaust leak and pouring carbon dioxide into the cabin and poisoning, or even killing the driver
You're telling the truth. That's why I have a people are going and getting older trucks. Just put in brand new engines in them and work in a minute. Truck the older trucks and stop doing the newer trucks all the way around
It's about big corporations and government control
Saw 👀 one of your simtruck on I86 in bigflatt, Corning ny area today.
in industrial applications they do called a QSX15, 685 hp on a genset i’m sure they have em in marine application also…. my N14 computer came off a bow thruster in a ship 535hp so they say 😁👍
Interesting
Plus those emission system are not cleaner.
It's ok for the government but not for us. 😡
Right
We need to get the cat ( caterpillar) out of the box !❤❤❤❤❤
The USA has always figured out how to get rid of their junk into other countries.
Newer X15s have been reliable in my experience. Fuel haulers that run them at 565/1850 love em. Them MF's pull, Company's permitted to 117K gross with overweight permit on a 12.5K gallon trailer. Rare we run that full gross but loaded with diesel she pulls hills and highway inclines without going too low in the gears. Ours are at around 300k with no motor issues whatsoever. Ran the ISX and those were always problematic.
X15 will go to 400-600k. But hang on after that ….
@@flintcreektransport Yeah, I dont think there's a million mile motor anymore. Too much tech and sensors, not to mention the emissions stuff. You are getting better fuel mileage in these and that's a plus to you guys running real miles.
The reliability of the emissions systems have became much more reliable. Deleting trucks is a good way to end up with massive fines or prison.
I agree. They make them more reliable but the epa becomes stricter therefore here in 25 is a whole new set of emissions ….. so now a new set of problems to work through. Plus more weight and more cost
@@flintcreektransport The new emissions standards take effect in 2027. The EPA has also mandated that manufacturers must provide a 450,000 mile warranty on the emissions system and the useful life of the truck is rated at 650,000 miles. Cummins and other engine manufacturers have been testing engines that meet the EPA 2027 for at least 2 years. When the EPA2010 rule came into effect most diesel manufacturers had zero experience with emissions systems. The main change with the EPA2027 rule is a further reduction of NOx. This isn't something that is totally new to manufacturers, all they have to do is figure out how to make existing scr technology more effective or efficient.
Emissions are definitely frustrating. We've had some family stuff going on this year that needs time off. The week before I have time off is when I want to go out and make money. Guess what? Wednesday sensor issue truck is in derate. Tough to keep customers happy and provide for your family with this crap the government wants hanging off the truck.
Right !!!
I’m curious what thermostat you guys run. Are you running a 180 or 190 to run cool or do you run them warmer?
i love gliders the government needs to keep in nose out of the the trucking industry we'll govern ourselfves
Have you seen some of the idiots we drive with?
Here in Australia can buy a pre emissions x15 cummins
That’s awesome
@@flintcreektransport unfortunately the X15E3 can only be legally fitted in trucks built before jan 1 2008 when euro 4 was introduced.
If I am correct you cannot buy a gen 2 signature crate engine anymore so the X15E3 fills this gap.
Could also repower what was fitted with a
c-15/c-16 and the ddec 4
Gliders and basic engines all day. The military and fire truck engines have no emissions for upmost reliability

Its all about the money .
Pete, kw, and freight shaker all built gliders as far back as the 60's if not even farther back.
Hey Justin. Maybe there's a way to set up a Mexican subsidiary trucking company that can buy those 'export only' trucks. I see Mexican plated trucks up here, all the time.
Ha. I wish
The real question is how long would a new X15 last if it was able to breath, most guy who delete turn up the power, leave it at 475hp and 1650tq, i bet it would be a million mile engine again
I agree. Def last a lot longer !!!
Keep the old stuff long as you can.emission trucks are terrible.
There another piece to this. Pretty sure when you export a truck its still running on the same environment, its called a planet.
The truck companies KW , Peterbilt etc. love this build more trucks make more money
Forcing people into a system of forever being in debt by trading up just like phones.
I wonder if it be legal to put that pre-emissions X15 motor in a glider truck and run legally in the U.S. ?
I don't see why that wouldn't be legal, one of my local neighbors specifically ordered his w900 glider with a deleted cm871. Now its cat swapped though, didn't have much luck with cm871.
I need to ask a Cummins rep
You could get them earlier then that but you would ,have to to supply ,engine, trans, rear susp .axles, fifth wheel and drive wheels.tires! Were great if a good truck got Totaled!
That’s what gliders were originally built for. If you totaled your truck and had a good driveline you bought a glider and put your driveline in it. Then you used your old truck title and it came titled as a rebuilt or built from the old truck.
I will help you, you open an office in Mexico I will stay there to run the office and when you need I will drive a truck up from Mexico for you in New York. I saw a truck I liked the other day the price was to good to be true then I saw the Export only.
After hauling real heavy in the wood industry. All before the permit system. I got sick and tired of the 3.5-4 mpg and repair cost to keep equipment in good working order. In 86 I started hauling from Plattsbugh,ny out Red Bluff,Ca. With an 89 KW t600 cat3406b 425hp 18 spd 3:55. If I ran at a steady 65mph I'd get 5-6 mpg. In 94 I bought a new KW w900 studio cat 3406b 435hp 18 spd 3:55 at 65mph I'd get 4.5-5 depending on wind. In 95 I picked up a used 95 KW t600 aero cab. DD 12.7 430hp 13spd 3:55. All were pre emmisions cats were manual fuel systems. DD was electronic. At 65mph it got 7 mpg. Under 80,000 it push close to 8 mpg. Best thing I did was get out of woods hauling heavy. The 94 cat 435 would leak oil from the turbo. The t600 had small issue with the rubberflaring mounts over the fuel tanks. The 435 would leak a gallon a week. The DD had blow by but used no oil between 8000 mile oil changes. At 870,000 I brought it in to have the over run on it. When they saw the blow by. they they'd do an inframe overhaul. The engine had zero wear anywhere. The piston rings were lined up from a vibration causing the blow by. They only charged Me for the fluids. After that I've been sold on DD.
Detroit is a good engine….. better mpg but there are very few of them in Paccar. Only a few years they had them.
You need a small terminal in Mexico so you can register trucks to that address and run them in the states
Haha. Yea Cancun area 🤣🤣🤣
Buy the trucks from Florida and register in Mexico then drive them in NY. Doubt the DOT would like that tho
the Chinese are making better motor than the US 🇺🇸 right now most of the Chinese trucks down here in jamaica dont have the same issue like the new American motors
They do if it is for the government.
That goes to show you even they know that stuff is a joke
Obviously the US can make money selling pre-emissions to other countries while making money on emissions trucks in their own country
Right. Everything gets deleted right away ….. and US pays millions or billions to the Paris climate accord
I would have them exported and then i would bui them in Mexlco
to mi i think the cat 6nz 12.7 Detroit and redtop n14 are more better than these new motor
All these out of state companies and businesses need to stop kissing californias ass. California must honor legal compliance for out of state vehicles including CMV’s. They can not enforce their rules and regulations on your vehicle as long as it is compliant in your home state. Non permanent modifications or accessories is a different story such as rear detectors, but permanent features such as tint, exhaust etc are considered permanent and California has no jurisdiction to govern your vehicle that is registered in another state so as long as you yourself are not a resident of California.
Emissions in my view is a scam just another way for these big co-operation and the government to make money, they are the only one's who really benefit from trucking
Along with everything else that made sense its all history
If your hell bent on staying away from the new engines as you know today you can go to Cat and with a core they will sell you a NEW Block Cat engine with recon heads & turbo. not a old engine rebuilt. Going to cost you $60,000 but that's the route for you to go. overhauling a engine twice or three times getting up to 2.5 -3 millions miles on the block & spending $40,000 to me is nuts. It's not a NEW Engine
The point is at some point he's going to want newer trucks due to drivers. While some drivers don't care if its an older truck, a lot of these new guys don't care they just want to drive a "brand new" truck.
@@BMW_Mustang_Dodge absolutely, the climate they work in very hard on the frames, rear end housings in rusting away.. The cabs not so much but still salt eats away at them to just slower .Mother Nature wins every time.

On a serious note, is there an industrial version of the X15? You know there was a new John Deere industrial/ag engine that looked like it would work good in a truck. I was reading up on it last year, I'll have to look at it again. If you need engines, why aren't you just buying rebuildable cores and doing them in your shop? Don't get me wrong, I think you are quite on the ball about this. I just want to see what you have already explored.
There are also some Cummins engines built under license in asia. I think some of them might be legacy designs. Not sure about restrictions on importing though.
This John Deere 14 liter
JD14X (6136CI550)
Industrial Diesel Engine
391-510 kW (525-684 hp) @ 2100 rpm
Continuous, Heavy Duty, Intermittent
There is also an 18 liter that makes 908 HP, but it weighs 4700 lbs
Its a good idea but to register trucks you cant have deleted trucks at least not in Ontario/Canada. I dont know much but i think rebuilding pre-emission engines is legal
@@Hockeygeek35 I don't know, maybe I misheard him, but it sounded to me like he wanted to buy x-15 pre-emission engines. I figured he had a plan on how he was going to use them in a truck.
Correct. I think there are a b c and d rated engines.
Go to Mexico. Find a no emission truck you like. Drive it to the boder, claim you are seeking asylum. You are good to go...
Haha
Emissions trucks are better. There is some maintenance for sure. You'll be fine
