Turns out as im in the uk I needed an actual gun licence for the airsoft (realistically impossible here). The only way around was to pay the company to have it sprayed orange. Pass.
I have that controller It’s handles are meant to represent a knife and a gun, it’s meant to give players the actual feel of holding 2 different weapons (kinda an easier version of CQC)

Capcom seems to have a deal with airsoft manufacturer Tokyo Marui, you can always see their company logo in the end credits of every game. They likely provide realistic weapon models to the developers, which is why guns in the series tend to look pretty good.
The music choices for old skool RE are very nostalgic specially the save room ones. Good video, I enjoyed every bit of it. those are some pretty uncommon gems yu got there
I remember seeing the action figures at Kay Bee toys for years after RE2 came out. They had the shock collection and the alarm clocks, but not the Claire and Leon with lighters. Seeing as I smoke today, I would love the RPD lighters now.
I always thought biohazard was a fitting title for the game. The eye draws you in, creating a life-threatening effect for the player. But the American version didn't quite feel life-threatening may be due to the fact you had a weapon.
Biohazard was also the name of a shitty band in the 90's so it wouldn't have worked just on that. Biohazard is a cool name, though i agree. It is fitting for the series as a whole. Resident Evil only works as a title for the 1st game because you're in a residence.

Nu-Jill's personality is absolutely horrid. She's like an edgy teenager who feels the need to swear to act cool and "tough." I replayed RE5 and OG Jill oozed a quiet, mature confidence yet warmth. Nothing like and leagues better than Nu-Jill

In Japan I found an official airsoft replica of Leon's upgraded magnum from RE2 Remake. Would have loved to get it, but no way I was getting that through customs.
the spine card comes with every games, music cds and guidebooks in japan, they are called obi which means belt in japanese, if you are a collector make sure that belt is included as it will make a diffrence for the price decades from now
In the Biohazard 2 demo disc there is an exclusive demo of Rockman Dash a.k.a Mega Man Legends. That demo is only available in the Japanese version of Resident Evil: Director's Cut.

Also the japanese cover image for RE2 is the same one that was used in europe and I agree, it's really neat. It's also interesting how the US versions of RE2 and 3 used different fonts compared to US and Europe. I miss when game covers were interesting. 😅
That cover for the U.S. version of the 1st R.E. game, I thought the guy's expression was done intentionally by the artist. The left side, viewed alone, is anger. Viewing the right side only is fear and confusion. Done intentionally to covey the 3 most expressions the player will have on their face while playing the game.
I also like the US version better, I was able to buy a long box PS1 version years back on ebay for a reasonable price, I'm sure it's worth more now, I also bought a Japanese version of RE 1, 2 and 3, for less than 10 bucks each, just to add to the collection, i don't have a modified PS1 to play them but I guess I could use the disc swap trick I used to play burned games back in the day

Still, there is something weird and cool about the original PAL cover art, the Japanese arts are great but they give away the fact that there is a lab involved, witht the European box you just knew it was horror and action, I think back in the days it made a difference by not giving away spoilers, but then again it mainly works if you discovered the game when it was released back in 96.

I personally like the soundtrack of resident evil director's cut dual shock version a bit more than the original except for the basement of course, that one sucks without a doubt. Some of the stuff in the video are interesting like the resident evil 1.5 gameplay videos, it makes me hope it actually made it outside of Japan.
Am pretty sure the deagle advertisement was for one of Tokyo Marui's Airsoft replicas xD pretty cool actually, the replicas of the remakes go for 600$ so I can't imagine how much those of the original games go now with how rare they become.
The original artwork on the US/Europe games feels like it was trying to reference evil dead. I'd have to go through some boxes but the Japanese directors cover might have been available as dual shock in Europe because its very familiar to me.

11:40 I tried this controller one time, it is quite rare I think but fun. It is supposed to be held like a gun and the button configuration is slightly altered to make it look like it. It is actually closer than configuration you would see today with R button used for shooting. Basically you have the R button behind the long shaped handle and it feel like a trigger.
Please do the same with the japanese gamecube games; they are really beautiful, with lots of small details (stickers for the gc memory too) and in a totally different format than the American versions.
I'd like to mention that the front cover of Biohazard 2 for the GameCube was recicled from the Japanese covers of Biohazard 2: Dual Shock Edition for the PS1 and Biohazard 2 for the N64.
I used that controller. It was a long time ago but I think it had a button dedicated to spinning the character round which helped with escaping and it was much easier to aim with it. It was comfortable. Kind of felt like holding an actual weapon. Damn, I should have kept it :) Great vid.

Put aside at least USD100++ just to visit these 2 places

If it's the airsoft replica pistols that you're interested in as gar as I'm aware both Tokyo Marui and WE still make them, though only Tokyo Marui make the Desert Eagle replicas. You can get different variants if the Samurai Edge from both Marui and WE. 🙂

Me too. My copy of Biohazard 2 for the PS1 didn't come with the spine card but it came with those stickers.

I used that controller. It was a long time ago but I think it had a button dedicated to spinning the character round which helped with escaping and it was much easier to aim with it. It was comfortable. Kind of felt like holding an actual weapon. Damn, I should have kept it :) Great vid.

You should go to the Guncafe in Tokyo where you can use Airsoft versions of the R.E guns! (I've been there, plus the CAPCOM cafe)

@@Natedawg38 Its called EA Guncafe in Kichijoji (I hope its still open though due to Covid and all), The Capcom Bar was at Shinjuku in Pasela Resorts but I think that's seasonal (and again may not be open due to Covid etc..) but man... the R.E/Capcom themed food was fun and awesome. Put aside at least USD100++ just to visit these 2 places

If it's the airsoft replica pistols that you're interested in as gar as I'm aware both Tokyo Marui and WE still make them, though only Tokyo Marui make the Desert Eagle replicas. You can get different variants if the Samurai Edge from both Marui and WE. 🙂
