This song to me means something entirely different. I know it’s intended as a break up song but it takes me back to when my son was on the icu when he first was diagnosed with cancer. He had necrosis in his throat from sepsis and was having life threatening bleeds, needing tonnes of blood transfusions. I sat by his side and said if he wanted to go he can go if he needs to. If it will bring him peace and end suffering. Don’t fight just for my advantage. “If you tell me you’re leaving, I’ll make it easy, it’ll be okay. If we can’t stop the bleeding, we don’t have to fix it, we don’t have to stay. I will love you either way”. This validates my emotions so deeply from that time. I realised in the past, they wrote about each other. Made a collab in between. And yet again, wrote about each other. I mean im not sure if this is another song about her but i would like to think it is. Im not obsessed about them together bcuz we are all human, life happens. So i just hope to see them happy, support them together or individually. But i love their story together. Its beautifully written. Through pictures and songs. I love how their latest tracks are about moving on positively. Its rare to see singers approaching break up positively. They tend to share the problems and stir drama.
