#backflip #workout #rockclimbing - Zábava
seriously though magnus what's up with your backflip?
He is still perfect in my eyes.
Hi I’m kinda new to this channel
Magnus had to do backflips without his chalkbag. Not fair!
Watching the previous backflip videos he seems to stiffen up when doing the flip whereas juji and Tom do a smooth fluid movement. And also seemed like Magnus's center momentum moved down and back as opposed to straight upward
I think it's both mentally once he didn't succeed at it, and noticed how it's pretty much opposite of rock climbing. Once you take away his eyes for his landing point in an EXTREMELY fast movement and lift, its easy to get lost, then try over thinking the issue. From slower thought out and sighted compared to fast small yet large movements with legs/core for lift, like teaching a rock climber to do a kick flip. It's odd. Mentally it gets to you, and one day boom. I literally had to dream of what it felt like before I could land it. Only way that was possible was to fail.
Mad props to Anton for constantly rolling during that intro.
I got dizzy watching Anton
I was so distracted by that.
I had to look away because I got sick.
A ghost was triple kickflipping him
@@___meph___4547 Triple in the first one of the video. Consecutive doubles in the intro. Called double cat twists.
Because he didn't chalk his feet up first
Eli Vigil 710 he still had his pants on
You could be on to something. 🤔
It´s a mental thing!
LOL

“You can not get skill if you want to look cool” - Anton
I didn't come here for great life lessons, but here we are.
Anton is really wise when it comes to those things, i love that
@@christiankeller5026 He's a very good teacher
@@danktoasties8488 It helps if you speak in a language that isn't your first. You're going to get straight to the point.

Golden advice there. 11:00 mark
Magnus is so used to gripping the earth that its difficult for him to let go
Aaron Im sorry my joke was so bad you had to take it seriously
Sorry to break that 69th like
@@gerardguevarra4242 You are one punny man Mr. Guevarra.

Yet he could skydive multiple times 😂
While everyone is trying to analyze why Magnus sucks at it, Anton is thinking, "Too much talking and less doing is the problems"
That would definitely be a problem for me
When I learnt trampoline backflip I just had to keep throwing myself until I landed it
Yep, he's always so helpful, very good friend, he also helped him with ninja warrior.
its true though, i mean practice is definitely the main way to get better at it
Magnus: americans are way more supportive than Norwegians
Tom: spends the time telling Magnus that he sucks more than any other guest ever
Anton: actually helps him improve
Anton is my favorite, he has the best personality. Him and Magnus need to be a permanent part of the channel.
He is such an awesome coach.
Tj C nah they should do stuff together without the big bodybuilder guy, and who is Tom? I’ve watched loads of this channels vids to see Magnus and I’ve seen the big bodybuilder but who tf is Tom
@@ellisgauld6106 lol. tom is usually behind the camera. Tom and juji are pretty much the main stays of the channels. Magnus and Anton have their own channels and are more like guests on this channel
@@rrrents Крутой мужик реально!
@@ellisgauld6106 magnus has his own channel and alot of his recent content is just him and anton
Just search up Magnus Midtbo
He does pretty much everything perfectly, at least backflip makes he look like a human again
Just what I was thinking, he has to be mediocre at something.
Anton is a treasure and we should strive to be like him
and strive to be in every video lol
"I just want to practice in a room all by myself until I have it, then I can show people."
Literally me with everything.
Jaw line is too strong. Messes with his aerodynamics
Too much air resistance
Lmfao
Also the hair is not soft enough.
forearms too heavy, cant spin
Magnus actually has brown hair, he's become blonde from the chalk roughing up the hair
They're trying to teach an earthbender how to airbend
juji is the avatar
I love this comment so much
People are commenting about Magnus like he's finally human by "sucking" at acro but he's still crushing 99% of the population
Kyle Devlin yeah but he isn’t world class at this whereas with every other thing in the world he is a god at.
Obviously he’s still pretty good at it but he is normally god tier at all the things he tries.
Jacob Nobles true
Anton is the such a class act. Much respect for that guy. And fudge, he's so dang likeable.
Anton is such a frikkin good athlete.
Juji calling Magnus/climbers weird because Magnus climbs for 4 hours on end.
Also Juji; *does an 8 hour arm workout.*
That was just a gag for a video.
The excitement from Anton at 6:28 is just so wholesome
I like him. He's such a cool guy and a great friend.
6:28 Anton’s reaction warmed my heart there.. I think this is great to bring Anton in as coach!
Gotta love Anton
Gery M. Seriously! Tom over here negging the whole time.... hahahha nah it was sweet seeing Anton’s encouragement though! And he’s a great person to bring as coach for this type of stuff. So good
Teach magnus to pinch grip the air and he can planche around it.
People love watching when someone who is good as something tries something new. Also when they're bad. Many TV shows are based on this.
It's just good entertainment. No need to be embarrassed, you don't have to prove anything. And the honesty is great.
top comment please
I think Tom is right, he is a perfectionist and he feel embarressed that he's not immediately good at it. I've never seen magnus look so nervous and defensive. Outside of his comfor zone for sure. Magnus you are an elite level climber, no need to pretend that acrobatics come easily to you why would it? Despite the fact you are good at many things no one is good at everything, certainly not instantly. Be a bit easier on yourself!
This right here! Magnus needs to see this
It’s a mentality that’s really hard to break. It often stops people from trying new things because they don’t think they’ll ever be any good at it.
@@tacticalchunder1207 I feel this one deeply...
I don't think Magnus is being defensive per se, but more so being realistic and just responding to Tom's and everyone else's questions in an honest way. I agree with everything else you say though and really admire this whole community including yourself that watches these videos because you guys are all really supportive and encouraging in the comments for all these diverse fitness challenges.
I am so like this it's not even funny😂 I always feel like I should already know how to do something even if I've never/barely done it. I don't want to look stupid trying to learn it so I just don't. Makes no sense, I know. But yes it's a hard mentality to overcome.
I love Anton he is a real buddy, he supports Magnus so much :)
Juji:
"Can you do like a dolphin thing where you wiggle-- oh nevermind I don't care anymore"
I cackled very loudly lmao
Bro Anton is low-key the G.O.A.T.
Anton and Magnus I think are my 2 favorite guests.
The message about not trying to looking cool whilst learning a new skill is such great advice. Transcends all parts of life.
Anton is so great!
Make Devon backflip.
I think you all are overcomplicating it and Magnus is getting very nervous and upset about that. I don't think it really matter why he fails, It is important to focus on improvements instead of excuses. Don't tell him why he is bad and why he will struggle. Tell him why he is able to do this! You already noticed it, mentality is everything and every word matter there. It is not hard to see Magnus'es arms crossed, leaned back, staying silence. He was not having too much fun, but tried to stay cool. I might be overprotecting, but I recon you all didn't want to make him feel bad and that's why I point this out. Be aware of this
Very good comment.
I also think 'don't overtalk it, just go, practice and most importantly, have fun with it'. If I personally spend too much time thinking about why I failed at this or that, I get demotivated instead of using that time focusing on my vision and work towards it.
Finding the reasons (or excuses if you're a baby) for why he can't do it is important for improving it. Not hard to understand
The focus for perfection is a must for rock climbing. You cant afford to fail or mess up. His mindset is that of not messing up so its hard for him which is not a faultm
Yes, exactly
I've actually paused the video because I find it so uncomfortable how Tom is pushing and pushing when Magnus gives all the signals to back off. The only one getting it is Anton who is purely positive, dissects the movement into steps focusing on all the problems areas and actually clariyfing that learning is learning.
So this has been on my mind for a while, I couldn't explain to my friends why I love this channel until this video dropped and i had a lightbulb moment.
It's 3 things
1) Nothing in these vlogs are extravagant, luxurious or smug. These guys are good human beings doing what we'd probably do too and but don't go full vlog style and do it with VIP treatment. It's sortve comforting to watch and wholesome too. The home gym they built over the years took time and gradual investment. It's not just full of freebies and endorsements - so it inspires the viewers to consider it themselves
2) Easily some of the most humble group of people all in a channel. Technically speaking all the guests and themselves are pretty much the best at what they do. So what do they do in this channel? They do stuff that's nothing to do with what's got them big. Devon deadlifting, Magnus learning to flip, juji arm wrestling, Anton climbing it goes on and on. It's showing us a side of the pros doing something different that I remember a few years ago would be so rare.
3) I'm invested in their journeys. These videos aren't necessarily standalone episodes they follow on from other occasions or events. You're also routing for them in all endeavours, other CZcamsrs use clickbait or even something confrontational to get you riled up about them. These guy, are friendly, sincere towards each other and genuine - of course I'm routing for them.
Thanks for the great content guys. Merry Christmas.
JK very well put! Such a wholesome group of people, I always feel as if they were giving me a virtual comforting bear hug :D
Yeah, falling backwards for a climber is death. If he has been training for 20 years he has to keep his weight forward. Hence his early difficulties.
Anton is the most wholesome person I've ever seen
When Anton flops after being pushed by juji at 0:54
Hahhahahhaha legendary!
The cheerleaders are disappointed in magnus but little do they know he’s the best at everything else
I feel Tom doesn't help with Magnus' head space.
Bro around 4:30 he was being a little harsh lol
Magnus still chalks up before backflips
In my perfect world Tom and Juji keep Magnus as a pet and make videos with him every day. This trio is the best thing that has ever happened to fitness youtube and bouldering as a whole. (Love Devon too he can come play aswell)
If you love something, let it go.
If it comes back to make CZcams videos with you... cool.
Magnus is my favorite guest to ever be on this channel. Devon in close second though.
What magnus said about the different mentality of americans and norwegians is actually true for most if not all of Europe.
Yeah but i'm pretty sure babies suck pretty bad at walking too. Look at most of the humans now. Walking around, like they learned and grew up. Dang. Weird.
That's actually kind of sad lol
Its sad but it's the participation trophy mentality. We want everyone to feel good but as Magnus said being challenged can help a lot. Need a balance of both challenge them but encourage them to keep trying.
Yup, being British I'm well versed in pessimism. The US mentality of "you're the best child, you're better than everyone else, whatever you do is amazing" is quite cringeworthy to me.
@@SidewinderINC guess you shouldve won the revolutionary war
Life lessons with Anton
Tricking is just undisciplined amateur gymnastics. Anton said it perfectly "You cannot get skill if you try to look cool"
”You shouldn’t think you’re something”. What Magnus is speaking of is called Janteloven/Jantelagen (law of Jante) and is a Scandinavian mentality.
"Why Does Magnus Midtbø Suck At Backflip?" Seems like it's part of the american mentality as well...
Magnus opening up about why he might struggle with certain moves made me respect him a lot more
i like how tom and juji are no longer the the ones doing all the teaching, now they're getting taught some stuff haha
Oh my god I love tom for getting magnus to say "I spit bars"!
he did, wow im gonna love watching this
Anton is like the motor in my Blendtec high-powered smoothie blender.
The trick is Magnus should do it the way he feels comfortable. Covered in chalk and shirtless.
Anton is so sweet. I want him to teach me backflips.
"I feel like an amateur in climbing gyms." Wait, didn't Anton climb a V7 or V8? That's sort of decent for an "amateur".
Magnus is extremely relatable in this video.
Found you guys a while ago through Magnus' channel, and just subbed to Anton's new channel too. Love everyone's solo vids but the collabs are just so good.
So happy to see so much love for Anton here. We need him and Magnus more!!
💕 Anton & Magnus. Props to Magnus for being vulnerable and trying something he isnt instantly good at!
Magnus 15:49 - "I spit bars" lmao!
Goodness gracious I love videos like this so much. The comaradery, the spirit, the learning of new skills and the genuine behaviour of everyone on screen! The Best! The. Best.
It is probably because he is used to sticking to the ground or always keeping points of contact. It goes against his nature to leave the ground for a period of time let alone have it spin by his eyes.
Exactly what I was gonna say. If you lose control during rock climbing, you're gonna have a bad time.
What he does is the exact opposite of tricking.
You guys are so supportive towards eachother, that's so awesome.
Anton is so cute I want him around me all the time to keep hearing his little cute comments. No homo
Lmao
It’s the unchalked feet 😩
Anton is such a great dude. Also seems like a good teacher.
This video is so humble that it motivates me to train hard and to not be ashamed of learning new things. Thank you guys you are all awesome!!! 🙏
He sucks at backflips because the entire top half of his body is filled with dense beefy muscle and his entire bottom half is hollow straw to reduce weight while climbing.
No he is just not accustomed to the muscle activation yet. I Semi-blame the teacher with how they did it here tbh.
Tito y u so negative bro
@@zeagias dude it was a joke
He still has better calves than most gym bros 😶
I was thinking the same thing again lol
I finally started working out again after years of neglecting my body and this channel has been awesome motivation so I just want to say thanks Juji and Tom and all the friends and guests that come on! Wish me luck on my transformation!
Good luck on your transformation!
Good luck!
Great video. Anton's been great and seems like a great teacher.
“I spit bars” - Magnus Mitbo 2019
The more the topic about 'why' and 'sucking' is being discussed, the more it twirls up to a kind of negative energy around it and the fun of doing it fades away.
The end result seems to stand in the center instead of the joy of the learning process.
In everything I do at least, the journey is the goal, not the goal itself. The last one just marks a mental mile stone that comes automatically when I let go of achieving it.
Personally, I like to fail because from there I can rise.
A great thing about sharing this human experience is seeing each other grow. The key is not that we do it but how we do it: with aggression for example or with humor and patience on the other hand.
Just forget the result. Have fun. That's what I am telling myself when I start to get frustrated.
Much love to y'all and a beautiful new year
It's because he's not hydrated.
Wait that's Eddie Hall.
This killed me 😂😂😂😂
Lol
Anton is the most adorable trainer ever hes so positive I love it!
*Spins furiously*
Tom, I wanna see more of your training brother!
We have a lot in common, I have ulcerative colitis, close in age, weight, and I WAS close in strength
But you seem to have become way stronger recently, iirc repping 360 lb deadlifts
I freakin love these collabs.
I recently snapped my arm in half doing a front hand spring and this vid gave me flashbacks to surgery and pain. Please make more content like this
The way Anton said that Magnus had trouble because climbing is grip and flipping etc is no grabbing at all, just air was awesome.
That warm fuzzy feeling when you're laying in bed after a productive day, looking forward to going home for christmas and seeing your dog and then you see theres a new video of juji & tom PLUS Magnus. 🤗
And Anton! Merry early christmas to maself
He isn’t flying properly.
15:50 "I spit baaarrsss??" lmfao Magnus dropping his next album tomorrow
you 4 guys are such a great combo!
Almost every time we see magnus on this channel he looks so confused.
Anton in the background just spinning is killing me...🤣🤣🤣
I've been waiting for Anton to get a channel!!!!
Magnus being bad at backflips is the only thing keeping him from being ridiculously OP

I love supportive and positive they are to see each other learn and grow this is a really positive and amazing group of people in athletics
I agree Anton but very supportive, but the two others spend all time telling Magnus he sucked, basically making his confidence worse
If taking off his shirt helps with upper body tasks, does that mean that...
😳😳😳
I always squat in just underwear so maybe there's something to it 😂
Good qulity content as usual orderd my pink flammingo gripper the other day cant wait to close it as soon as i get it
can't wait to hear Magnus' mixtape
"So you spit bars? I spit bars?" haha :D
Anton and juji fooling around in the first part of the video cracked me up
They should've had him practicing on pads the whole time(you should only do it on the floor once you have it down) and they should've never made him feel rushed or put so much in his head. I learned on a mattress with my friend showing me how HE did it. I felt bad to keep asking him to flip but then he said these key words... "I'll do this all day if it helps you". When he said that, it took away all the pressure and the rush and I was able to focus. My first one was crooked but he was excited & proud. He said, "That's it! We all go crooked the first time, .just do it again." 2nd time was straighter. 3rd time I nailed it. It's a memory I'll never forget. It's bigger than just doing a flip. It's also the fact that you conquered that fear and accomplished something you never thought you'd be able to do. It's like a spiritual victory. That's why the teacher gets as excited as the person flipping when they nail it or come close.
Magnus’ “I spit bars?” Made me chortle.
Magnus is the man!! Don't be afraid of failure!! A lot of younger people watch you and pay attention!! Show them how to be!
Merry Xmas (bit early) boys, love watching as always.
People are underestimating how much his climbing has created huge psychological barriers that protect him from moving in just the way he needs for the backflip.
Also, theyre way too cerebral. He just needs to rep out what he is comfortable with without being too concerned with the end goal, for a while.
I just wanna say Anton spinning in the background while they talk was funny, especially at the end when Anton flopped on his face and stopped moving.
Magnus is a perfectionist and gets more irritated every time he fails at something.
Magnus, you're awesome, relax and have fun with it, it will come.
Magnus have obviously not been to the tricking session in Turnhallen (Oslo). The vibe and mentality is so positive and supportive. It's where I learnt my backflips with a lot of help and support of the other guys there.

"I spit bars.?"
Got eem tom!😂
I started avoiding trampolines after a guy who I used to know nearly broke his neck. It was an easy exercise but his landing after a backflip was quite unsuccessful. Now all his body below his neck is immovable. A very tragic outcome for a young 21 y. o. sportsman whose body is now totally handicapped.
Tom... @8&12 mins... has NOT been skipping leg day!! Kudos!
