@@renkomarkova7336 Yes!Yes! . I am now 37 and do not regret "not " wearing makeup. you are much better off taking care of your skin. make up really wears down your skin over time. Plus when you do wear makeup other folks tend to notice the "surprise" of how your features pop. If you always wear make up then when you do go out to an event then there is no surprise, because you are always in makeup. So I really leave subtle makeup up for going out to dinner with my hubby and etc...which is like once a month. Take care

@@jessicamorton8319 I would say none for everyday things. For the long term, it should not be needed at all, but our culture isn't quite there yet. Men aren't wearing makeup, and women are expected to. Where is the equality?

I think every woman should do what is best for them. Me myself.i always wear mascara and blush and lipgloss and sometimes lipstick
Though. I don't wear anything else on face. I wear organic makeup at times. When I go out some where nice. I am still trying to ween myself from not wearing makeup period. I think it is good to not wear makeup for some woman. I am trying to not wear it at all. I do feel like I love myself more. When I don't wear makeup on my face. Plus. Makeup cost a lot of money. That's how all of these rich people make money off of woman. Who chooses to wear makeup. They are the ones who are being rich. These companies sellaleup for woman. Wanting them to wear it. So the rich can get richer and the middle class poor keeps on getting poorer. Instead of being middle class. And making it in the world. It is no different then buying a new car. It's good to buy a new car if you ever had one before. Though. If you are so use to buying a car all the time that is totally brand new and you are still able to drive your old car longer. Until the car no longer works. Then. It's good to buy a nice car that you want
That is newer or new. These car companies are no different then women wanting to spend a lot of there money on makeup. These companies get so rich off of people that sometimes can be nieve. I would rather not wear makeup and savey money for something better in life. That will benefite more
Same thing goes for me buying a car. I would rather drive a old car. Until it drops and then buye a better newer car to drive. Some people in life are suckers and some are not
At all. You have to know what is best for you
Everyone is different. And that's how life is
      No one is the same
Whatight be good for some.ay not be good for everyone😊

It's just for fun, sometimes to make me feel better, sometimes to express myself artistically. But it doesn't define me. Personally I think that 12yo is way too early. It doesn't have too but it can be very dangerous for mental health of a teenage person, especially if there are no adults around who could explain things. (We are not identicle twins.)
I have never forgotten that, and to make it worse for me, my husband only ever compliments me when I'm wearing make-up. He doesn't realize it🙄 but it sure does sting.

This is such a beautiful video, it has made me so happy, thank you! I've been slowly wearing less and less makeup over the past couple of months for the first time in years and it's so amazing, you explained it perfectly! I hated how insecure I was before and how judgmental i was of other people too (that was the worst part, I always picked apart other people's faces and was so judgmental of appearances).
I've learned that makeup that covers up your skin (foundation, concealer) is especially harmful for the psyche bc it's meant to hide "flaws" which only makes you more insecure like you said. I still love wearing lipstick though, I have so much fun putting it on, and I love my little collection.
Notice what you notice in others, I would never judge someone else or myself for not wearing lipstick, so I know I don't wear it out of insecurity. That's how I can tell what's okay to use and what isn't.

Currently not wearing makeup on the way to work, because I have a stye in my eye. It’s a recurrent stye. I found myself wanting to hide the star that I put some eyeliner on and I felt it hurts even more so I immediately took off my make up and thought wow I am willing to make my eye worse or be in pain even more because I feel so insecure without it, so I took off the make up and decided that I am going to not wear make up as much as I used to. I do agree it is refreshing to see others without make up and there’s been times where I’ve complemented other girls that don’t wear make up how great they look

I really appreciate this video. I’ve been contemplating going makeup free for a few months now, and never had before. My story with makeup is very similar to yours, I started wearing it at age 13 because I was so excited to “fix” my face with makeup. Fast forward through years of learning technique and what worked for highlighting my features, I realized that I was ashamed of my natural face. So I’ve started with a gentle approach, only wearing makeup a couple times a week. I’m not sure if I’ll ever go completely makeup free, but there’s a part of me that feels like I may never accept myself if I don’t stop covering my insecurity and shunning my real face.

I looked this video up because today I went to put on makeup since I was ACTUALLY needing to leave the house today... and it looked terrible to me. Like a weird washed out ghostly painted dry patchy face. I also noticed that when I put it on on rare occasion now, that it irritates my skin so badly. I washed it right off, applied a tad bit of tanning water, lip gloss, and I was amazed at how much better I felt without that paint mask on when going out. Before Covid I spent thousands on tons of makeup. What a waste of money. Now I spend my extra money on workout clothes and lounge comfy clothes, clothes that make me feel good, as well as my diet and things that look nice to me in my home. I still use skincare but I keep it to a few things that work well for the most part. Instead of whitening strips I use simple hydrogen peroxide. I don't dye my hair. Funny thing is, I just remembered that my horoscope was 'cancer, feel beautiful with or without makeup. Period. So funny.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful video. While the video is a couple years old now, I've made the leap to go make-up free, so I found it upon a search. Every single thing you said was always me, as well. I wish I had been as mature as you when I was younger to do this earlier. i'm 36 and in a very public-eye-related job. I guess you could say I took it in steps. For years, I stopped wearing makeup on the days I wasn't at work. That was a big leap that didn't happen until I was in my 30s. I've always been athletic and outdoorsy, yet, in my 20s, I would still put on makeup to camp, or spend the day outside, or run, go to the gym, etc. Full face was preferable. Silly when I think about it now. This past week, I JUST made the leap to go make-up free while specifically at work. This one was a big deal and one that I didn't think would EVER happen. It's been completely liberating in every way and has also been an interesting social experiment! The compliments I receive now feel so much nicer and genuine. I used to get compliments on how my "eyeliner is on-point" and "how pretty" I am, etc. What I started to find is that I didn't even really consider these compliments as true compliments because I knew that my face was caked with makeup. While well-meaning, these people were just complimenting my makeup... not really me. I started to feel annoyed by ANY compliments while wearing makeup! I think this realization is what led me to make the jump to go makeup free on all days, not just non-work days. I think it takes time to get used to seeing your own face without makeup on. It's such a crazy concept! I'm still getting used to seeing myself in my work uniform without a full face of makeup, but I am loving it. I truly do feel like I have so much more time to just live my life without worrying about what I look like.

Bravo, you :) I gave up on make up a while back. But then, I've had some health issues in the last few years that not only caused premature aging on the face but also pigmentation, redness and texture changes. Even the skin color has changed, I've lost the glow I had. I have been careful with skincare so it's been difficult this happened anyway. That's how interconnected the body is. My appearance has made me very self conscious, and shy; I hide behind the mask and I'm afraid for the time we can finally stop wearing them. So tempted to try makeup again in my 40s, but I know it'd only be to assuage insecurities. Am also lazy lol. Not needing to spend time or money on make up routines is rather liberating. Hopefully as my body heals (ever so slowly), I'll find some way to make peace with how I look.

I really appreciated this video and your articulate explanation of your journey and the advantages of not wearing make-up: physical, spiritual, mental, emotional. I am a totally different age from you, but also have commenced this journey, having started wearing makeup daily at the age of 13. It has always been a cover, to feel acceptable, to feel attractive, but I just got sick of it, plus the eye makeup was irritating my eyes, regardless of the brand I wore. So now I wear none. Again, it is freeing. Lots of negative comments from people: that I look ill, I look washed out, I look tired, etc but I actually don’t care; well, I do, but not enough to start up again. I think this is freeing; this is me. And like you said, I love seeing other women with no make-up; this is who we really are. I still do what I can to look presentable, but just no make-up. And I love this raw reality.

I’d wake up at 5am on days I had to go to school, just so I had a full hour alone to do my makeup. I did not like the way I looked without makeup at all. Im 21 now and I honestly can say I really hate the way makeup feels on my skin.. im much more into skincare and me with makeup nearly looks the same as me without, so other than mascara and a cream highlight, I just don’t buy it or wear it. It does sadden me that I spend so much time so focused on something that actually made me look worse tbh.

In the summer, I got to wearing mascara, sunscreen, lip balm, that’s it. I sometimes will go without makeup except sunscreen year-round on the weekend, and I feel like I’m giving myself a break. I haven’t worn foundation for at least fifteen years though. When I wore foundation, I broke out all the time. I’m not quite ready to go without makeup completely at work, but I do wear the minimal. When I do, I feel a bit naked and vulnerable, however healthier and younger.
