Beautiful quality trailer. Just saw this movie on DVD. It sticks with you. Amazing treat to see these wonderful actors in their prime. This is quite a haunting film.

The only Jack N. film I have yet to watch. This is from the same director as "Five Easy Pieces" which I loved!

From the decade when movies like this could still be made, long before CGI, big budget effects, merchandise tie in's etc: Just great acting and a story with a damn good script ....... The Golden age of 70's movie making.

Bruce Dern WHOA?!?!? With Burstyn and Nicholson and Crothers … I like it already , it is a life lesson to find out about this film and how they all had to wait for their talent to be recognised giving their best again and again …

Film dated Dec. 1st, 1971-Feb. 1972 Atlantic City. Stars Jack Nicholson, Bruce Dern, Ellen Burstyn, and Julia Ann Robinson (1951-1975) Last film in Atlantic City before gambling was legalized. The irony is the plot includes Jason's (Bruce Dern) plan for a casino in Hawaii, even though gambling has always been illegal there. Not sure if writer Bob Rafelson knew that or not. I'm watching it now; interesting for me being from NJ.

You know, I tweeted this out to some people who may have forgotten how the Boomers felt in their idealistic days and then somehow raised their children to be total Communists (actually the grandkids, because Boomer kids were 21 and my big sister, the hippie, has grandkids now, I just hope they wise up.) Why everyone has to act like pretend hippies and yippies now is just wishful thinking, I suppose. They want to refight the Vietnam War era and gay lib and women's lib because it's glamorous. Civil Rights, too, refighting all the noble wars of the past that were won. Every other generation, some wise journalist wrote (might've been Mencken or even someone before him) has the desire for war flow through them. I suspect that is what we are experiencing. The only weird part is old guys who hate people, like Soros, doing that kind of inciting. He's old enough to understand that young people desire war, but why he pushes so hard for destruction is weird. I guess it's population control.

@@maryreide5358 It appears to be a theory about how Boomers solved all the world's problems but also raised their kids to be ungrateful communists who refused to accept that the problems were all solved, and that the world is now a peaceful place with no problems for anyone thanks to the Boomers. But thanks to HL Mencken and George Soros the communist children are going to go fight communists in Vietnam and destroy all the gay lib and women's lib and Civil Rights. And possibly re-invade Normandy and/or attempt to free the slaves.

Maybe Americans constantly feel war flowing through them because they’re constantly at war. Americans are a war like people - always have been and always will be.

I love people who speak like this, coughing up the same old garbage talking points and thinking they are well spoken and know their history. You’re literally regurgitating propaganda fed to you your whole life in the comment section of a trailer for a movie. I can only imagine what you’re like in real life I hope you don’t have kids or they get away from you.
