    Thank you for the video! Not too much coverage or media on the 4 Door’s. Inherited a 66’ from great grandfather but has been in a barn sitting for 30 years, been trying to figure out what all I want to end up doing with it once make the 13hr drive down to grab the thing. Thank you for the showcase!

    Beautiful Fairlane. I don't know which I'm most jealous of........ the Fairlane or the hot top driveway

    Really nice Fairlane! I have a 1966 4 door fairlane 500 as well. Mine was originally bought by a general store owner in a little village close to where I grew up in Sweden. My dad then bought it from him in 1988, when I was 3, and then I took it over 2004, and have had it since. It’s all original, paint has some surface rust, but the interior is like new, and the engine is fine. It only has 50k miles on it. Never getting rid of that car!

    Beautiful car! I was just gifted a 66 fairlane 4 door. 289 automatic all original. Was painted and partially resorted in 2005 but the lady ran over something and ripped the pitman arm out. Other than that it’s really straight. Father in law got it for free and gave it to me. He and I are going to work on it together

      @@GillansGarage I sure will! Long way to go but I’m excited. Always had a soft spot for the 4 door Fairlanes ever since I sold my 64 fairlane.

    i have the same car only mine is a 1967. someone dinged my headlight bezel. doesnt appear to be a company that sells after market 67 bezels for fairlane,,only 66. might u know of a company rhat does sell 67 ones or if i could fit 66 onto 67. blue kitty is a bute. might paint my roof white too. mine is the same blue. watching your video reminded me that i need to put my shroud back on and add the tank (overflow).

    • @GillansGarage
      @GillansGarage  Před 3 lety

      Thank you!! I believe you’re right on no reproduction bezels for the ‘67. I did a quick search on eBay and saw a couple nice used bezels and a couple NOS bezels however the NOS bezels were fairly pricey. If you’re on Facebook there are several groups you could join to inquire there if someone has a nice replacement for a fair price. Thanks for watching!!!

    Do you happen to know what these things weigh? Ive looked all over the internet and people say 3k but thats hard to believe for how huge this thing is.

    • @GillansGarage
      @GillansGarage  Před 2 lety +2

      I’ve read that same weight but I have never weighted my car. I’ll try to remember that to get a weight the next time I’m near the feed mill.

    Can I ask what you got those wheels off of and what size they are ? Mine look similar and want to find center caps but can’t figure out what Ford they went on. They are 14s.

    • @GillansGarage
      @GillansGarage  Před 2 lety +1

      They are 16” Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor rims from a pre-2003 car. They’re 16”x7” with 225/60r16 rear tires with 205/55r16 front tires.
