As a Professional Sub-Divison Painter myself , I do pretty much the same and was taught the same .. But big difference is that there's no way I would use that pole at that short length. That is awful for ur back , and after 1 hour like that ur in serious pain . No way you can do that 8-12 hrs a day for 5-6 days a week and keep coming back to work lol Extend that pole and keep ur back straight man

It's a very long roller (twice as long as average) with a thick nap texture that holds more paint. He also pre loads the wall with paint in the opposite direction that hes going to roll it out in. And, that is a relatively short wall in height and lenght. (I was a professional painter for years)

@@mabylene I'm fairly certain this is the exact same paint as my bedroom walls. Sherwin Williams violet woods, or something like that It depends on how you pair it. My back wall, curtains, and bed clothes are black, my furniture is all dark cherry wood, I have lots of twinkly lights and flowers. It's fantasy/enchanted forest vibes. I had a similar colour as accents in my nursery, paired with a pale yellow and white, and it was all faerie and bug themed. It's a beautiful colour, and shifts with light tones really nice, you just have to have fun with it.
It took me so long to paint. Base coat plus two coats of color. Up and down the ladder. Still had to touch up spots on the ceiling from touching with the roller. If I did it like he did, there’s no way I’d have enough coverage after the paint dried. Very impressive.
You could do exactly as he did. Buy a longer thicker roller and preload the wall. Did you notice his first stroke? What about the swatches of paint on the wall that were not next to a fixture? ;)

I reckon a weekend warrior who was painting could maybe get away with that posture, but not someone doing it professionally for years.
I think he's more comfortable with the demo by choking up on the grip and the pole like that! I'm a professional Carpenter but it was a time I studied intensely on CZcams and Google as well as picking the brains of every painter I came across for whatever tips I could gather to make myself more efficient painter which definitely paid off in the end a lot! I personally like to extend the pole whenever possible but I've never used such a wide roller and I do believe he was just trying to be as fast and as efficient as possible without hitting the ceiling or the floor or the baseboard or anything like that too much... Whoever just made the comment about his posture being wrong I agree that would definitely hurt your back to do that kind of position for a long long time, but the way this guy's moving you can probably paint that whole house in the time it takes me to do two or three walls LOL! I admit he's pretty darn fast he could probably hold his breath maybe three breaths total and paint the whole house so I don't think he's too worried about his back posture LOL! 😊
Yes it does, but if you splotch a wall like that it is entirely possible to have darker spots I've seen my mom do it on accident 😂 That being said I'm not professional, nor is it my job to paint walls so I'm sure they have a good understanding of what they are doing hopefully.

I am a painter and if, like the roll, it is going to need to do it again because it will have all the marks where the roll passed and also there are many patches that when dry will come out. and if the paint is eggshell gloss or semi gloss, all that severe when it dries that needs to be painted twice ... but if you like to leave a bad job to the client, then if it's okay you finish quickly and charge quickly ... for me that is a bad work
I always wanted a purple room as a teenager, but never got around to painting my old room. Now that I’m older here and I don’t live in my childhood home no more. I don’t think I have the time. Plus I’m won’t be able to sleep in my purple room now that I live with my boyfriend. I’m always going back and forth between my parents house and my house with my boyfriend. And if I paint our bedroom purple, my boyfriend would probably lose his shit. Lol 😆

His cut work is very good! Unfortunately he did not save any time by ruling so vigorously. To get that much paint on the wall you would have to push very hard and in doing so he would get tiny dots everywhere of purple all over the ceiling fan,ceiling etc. creating more work for yourself it would’ve only taken you maybe five dips of paint in the tray to do it right! But now the home owners will be finding purple dots everywhere for years. And will have to repaint the ceiling. And anywhere the floor was exposed.
It just pains me so much to see the zigzag line instead of a straight up and down line I mean - “Relax, take a deep breath. Your anxiety level is really high and you’re having a heart attack.”

You use an angled paintbrush (usually a 1 1/2 or a 2 inch brush) to paint the corners and around trim. You can also use painters tape so you don’t bump anything, or if you’re not planning on painting the whole wall a single color.

I learned it a special roller that you put the paint in.
This color dries down so dark compared to when just applied, the pre-painted section is like 3 shades darker than the freshly painted section
Probably a good thing, it's a hideous color for a room anyway
