@@jonathanadair6847 Well, that's the thing with hot takes like "the US music (Robert Hartshorne) is better than the UK music (Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell)". They really get you thinking for yourself. And yes, there are some S7 Hartshorne themes that I prefer over Mike and Junior's S7 music too.
I have to admit Robert and Ed hartshorne do have some intriguing danger themes and runaway music and Scottish bagpipe music and some Thomas character themes are good.
@@jamessmithandgarrettsmith3623 Definitely. I'll go even farther and say Mike & Junior's music for The Runaway Elephant is not only worse than anything Hartshorne ever did in S7, but easily the worst music of the first 7 seasons.
There some places the UK music is better than US, yet the US music has it’s superiorities over the UK counterpart. My ideal dub of Season 7, would use both types of music and narration in the sequences they are best in.
Mike and junior's original orchestral music still fits well in season 7 will every season for that matter. I prefer their music to be more better and my favorite.
bassicly when something dangerous is happening o donnels theme are more comical were as hartshorne’s are more suspenseful with runaway elephant as an exception.
Robert Hartshorne's music will always be the best imo. The music has much more action and emotion. The classic series music is just a bit boring and overrated to me. Hartshorne's music needs to be appreciated much more.
I will say that Robert Hartshorne's score for Season 7 was good, but I still prefer Mike & Jr's music for Season 7. Robert Hartshorne did do some great music for the time when he was the composer for the show but I've come to like Mike & Jr's more these days as it pays tribute to the first 7 seasons of the classic era of Thomas & Friends.
If you say you like the old music better you are either nostalgic or you just dont like the new series and because of that you dont like Hartshorne music. That is stupid btw because hartshorne is in my opinion the best thomas music composer.
I like the Original Music by Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell in Michael Brandon, Teresa Gallagher and the International versions in the Wide Screen.
I have said it before and I will say it again: Classic series episodes and HiT era music do not work well together. Mike and Junior were a key part of the success of the classic series and with their music replaced, these episodes feel similar to the era that was infamous for extremely poor character portrayals and writing that was consistently weak. Episodes like “James and the Queen of Sodor”, “Bad Day at Castle Loch”, “Rheneas and the Roller Coaster”, “Snow Engine”, and especially “Three Cheers for Thomas” all had glorious O’Donnell and Campbell music that it’s an absolute crime that those scores were never released in the US. And very often, Hartshorne’s scores feel very off, particularly in “Edward’s Brass Band”, where the band play a random tune instead of an SOS signal, which leaves you wondering how the heck that was supposed to be an alarm.
I partially agree. HIT era music in the S6 re-narrations don't fit at all. In S7, however, there's quite a bit in which Hartshorne shines. Dare I say it, I actually think Mike & Junior's music for 'The Runaway Elephant' is the worst sounding score of the first 7 seasons, including Hartshorne's rescores.
@@SpectrumStorms Is it because you like the runaway theme from Hartshorne better? I think episodes should only be seen as they were originally intended, but people saying they prefer otherwise really annoys me.
Honestly in the time period I was in when I was little, I used to watch both dubs of season 7 in the 2010s (just like every season, pretty sure on CZcams) and I would notice differences in between them (just like everyone else no shock) but I viewed them at the same time well others had to wait a few years you know what I mean?
Personal Opinion:
US Season 7 Dub >>> UK Season 7 Dub
I honestly hate people who have that messed up opinion

Okay dude, you win, i'll admit, the US dub of season 7 does have more enthusiastic and epic music 😊
Honestly he does, like for some reason (probably that) the US dub of S7 stuck out to me more than the UK dub

That's one thing that I like about them.
I prefer most of the Mike and Junior Series 7 music, but there are times when Hartshorne beats them.
I think for all of the narrow gauge stories, Hartshorne beats Mike & Junior.
Especially The Runaway Elephant.

@@SpectrumStorms Mike and Junior played The Runaway Elephant off as a joke while Hartshorne at least understood the danger of a heavy statue at speed.

I like Mike and junior's original music because it has more harmony with the orchestra.
I really like the Hartshorne runaway theme in The Runaway Elephant.

Looking back, I actually prefer Robert Hartshorne's music for Season 7 over Mike & Junior's.
I always prefer Mike and Junior. It’s just really jarring to hear Robert Hartshorne’s music in a classic season.
Although Jack and the Pack since it was filmed alongside that season sort of for some reason didn’t bother me
I like the Original Music by Mike O'Donnell and Junior Campbell in Michael Brandon, Teresa Gallagher and the International versions in the Wide Screen.
I remember seeing that original uk audio and dubbed us audio, right?
LOOK OOOOUT😱
