Bill Hicks is one of my all-time favourite comedians.
I hope the Hicks family don't mind me putting this together and sharing it.

I remember George Carlin mentioning Bill Hicks as one of the great comedians. That's high praise.
Ron White and other open minded comedians also gave HICKS their recognition and respect.

you could replace macfarlane with pretty much every edgy topical comedy writer in that example. george carlin's style is so iconic that it's hard to find someone who's presentation doesn't include his influence.

I live in the UK. Back in the early '90's, Bill showed up. We got him straight away. Still loved.

His humor would be highly popular today. You can tell that most of the people in this audience are too uncomfortable to appreciate it.
It is pretty incredible to see his sets in England compared to US. If you hunt down bootlegs you see him hating being in the US because they all just took too damn long to catch up to him and the UK was all over him immediately.

One of the things I noticed a couple times in this video was his ability to improv when the audience isn't responding. A character trait of a great comedian.

Carlin and Hicks were the most incredible comedians on religion and the nonsense it brings. Simply untouchable and so to the point.

People tend to forget about his genius. Everyone always mentions Carlin, Hedburg, Pryor, and so on... but they always seem to leave Bill's name out. He should be remembered as one of the greats too.

I did not know about Bill Hicks until after his death and his hometown Valdosta Georgia is only one hour away. Wish I would have known about him and attended a concert when he was alive. Comedy genius, rest in peace Bill Hicks.

I was just thinking about George Carlin and the role that he played of the priest in Dogma and couldn’t help but to think that if Bill had still been alive would Kevin Smith have cast him in the role instead, I know that they are different in many ways but with Bills take on religion it would have been pretty cool. I think that Kevin and Bill would have had great fun making films/comedy together.
