I love how Thomas is absolutely astonished by this guy dating another guy. Like he is actually generally happy, and I feel like I can see his face during all of this.
His reaction to homosexuality was honestly just my reaction to learning what it was
@@SPG69 Me when gay people: :o :D
As I said many times, with us older fans of the Thomas Fandom, using our own stories in having suitably mature and serious elements to them to cover social and emotional issues, can really be a boost of help for all like myself and others that struggle.
man for thomas being my childhood and being bi is something i needed for a long time thxs this really helped me alot i wish someone can make a little movie about this
You know, as someone who supports the LGBT community, I say that is some great work. A Thomas the tank engine story about the subject? Wow. I gotta say that this story was very well written. People should never be ashamed for being who they are. They shouldn’t.
Hear, hear! And thanks so much! I’m honestly glad you liked it. Can’t say I remember it was easy to write, though - both physically and emotionally. This subject is dear to a lot of people, and I wanted it to be based as closely as possible on real events (which I did find for both the assault on Ray and Lee, and for Thomas’ breakdown). You’re right, though. We should not be ashamed of ourselves. In fact, in the words of the likes of Ashima, ‘you can only be you.’ (Or, if you prefer, ‘be who you are and go far, go far!’😉).
That was a very well written story. I think it got the point across without exaggerating anything. And Sir Toppham Hatt’s message was wonderful without being OTTT. Well worth the watch.
My adrenaline was rushing when the Escape theme came on!
Great story! You know I was like a gay hater at one point, but I eventually grew up to respect opinions on gay ships.
I am glad that the modern day culture is accepting them, but I only do a gay ship if it’s officially canon to the source material.
Fair enough. Each to their own, I guess. I'm completely fine with LGBT+ stuff myself. Some of my friends (including a family friend) are gay, lesbian or transgender, so I'd feel devastated myself if anyone attacked people in the LGBT+ community - especially if they targeted my friends. Regarding ships, heterosexual or otherwise, I don't really do much of that myself in my fanfics, if only so as to keep them as close to the originals as possible. If I do any shipping myself, it's just with either a pre-existing character and a new character (SPOILER ALERT: Expect something like that to happen to a diesel engine of particular repute some time soon on here!) or with two completely new characters who live in the universe of a series - such as Lee and Ray here.
@@TARDIS9 I'm not a hater on gay men... but it's something that I just can't accept and never get on with. I go about my issues on this silently.
@@Kanefan701 I can respect that
@@mikhailphillips1757 thanks for understanding.
Similar to me but it's mostly different since I don't have a "hate" towards it and not even the modern day culture does not make me change my mind but I show some neutral understanding and keep my distance on that since I was once nearly tried to harass me to show hate homo which didn't work for it upset me. Thankfully the trouble makers were taken away.
This was done very well
This is the best ive ever seen gay character done. This was amazing
I might be partly homophobic too but not for a bad cause when others use it to show they hatred crimes. My history with it is sadly complicated and controversial as it has been for the last 16 years.
Even though I would never be gay (as that is what its called) I would never say nasty comments or start fights about it
Absolutely amazing story.
Ah, thanks, man! I'm glad you like it. I felt it added a suitably mature and serious element to the story (as I usually prefer to write stories that cover social and emotional issues, to help the stories stand out). Hope all is well for you! :)
@@TARDIS9 You're welcome. In my fanfiction stories, I have mentioned two serious issues. I haven't put them on any fanfiction website as one of the stories mentions a disability I have in reality.
@@christophersleight9073 well with the help of this we can make it happen.
Is this allowed to be remade into an adaption???
Yes, of course. So long as I’m credited for the original version (as well as the narration, if you wish to use the soundtrack), then I don’t mind.
@@TARDIS9 Awesome!
@TARDIS9 Ok! i approve of this!!! I love it!!!
10/10!!!

Never forget you have a right to an opinion BUT bear in mind that Society may judge you based on that opinion..
A very good point. But then, it is also the right of everyone to love someone in terms of romance, family, or friendship, regardless of what others may say or think.
@@TARDIS9 Essentially, that's what I'm saying.
@Matthew Kaminski Russia too I believe
we have rights for options yes and should be respected whether it's right or wrong or a mixture of both. But I do stand against modern Society for the way they "judge" us is not how we'd do it.
homophobic is what I have trouble with since I was 14 due to a horrible exposure of it that I can't explain which lead me to be so misunderstood about it and well, I wasn't sure if it was wrong or not but still I'm not like this and never will be but I do keep my distance from this sort of this due to my personal reasons, it's led some views to leave the TTTE fandom because of me in to thinking I HATE men liking men when I clearly have no issue with girls liking girls or it any gender likes the other in normal relationships. I can say though most of my friends I've known have come out Bies and tell me this the right way so I don't end up freaking out in fear like I use to back then.
Don't take this the wrong way, it's just that I can never ever get on or be comfortable with any boy or man who is that.. I'm sorry but it's who I am and that's how it's gonna be but I can easily tell you and the rest that I'm not 100% homophobic and it's not too wrong if I'm only a little bit of that but keeping my thoughts to myself which helps.
Ah, fair enough. I prefer girls myself, but if someone came up to me and came out as gay, lesbian or transgender, I just regard it as being completely their own business (besides that, some of my friends outside of CZcams are LGBT+, so I'd gladly support them). At the end of the day, it's just each to their own opinions and preferences to me. :)
@@TARDIS9 I'm glad you understand my reasons. Even if I am a little homophobic that doesn't mean I'm to be a harmful person cause I don't hold a deep hated but still I don't think it's wrong if people are 100% homophobic but to have people who are cowardly hated towards people like this is unprofessional. I will only go as far to accepting anyone who is Bie and I thankfully have most friends (mainly men) who are Bie which I look as a way as respecting each one's gender and I'm ok with it since one of my mates told me recently in the correct manner so that I didn't freak out.
What an amazing story!
Some of my characters in my series are part of the LBGTQ+. Sodor’s king “Henry VI/Harry Wellsworth” is married to a man as of 2009
How can a human be a shunter???
Erm, it is actually a legitimate employment position in railway terms over here in the UK (at least it was in the days of steam - not sure about nowadays). It’s basically a person who is in charge of setting points manually (signalmen don’t control all the points on a railway, especially in a yard), as well as helping the engine and crews buffer up and couple up to their trains while in the yard. With respect, I think you’re kinda confusing it with the railway engine.
@@TARDIS9 oh my bad, it certainly doesn't help that I don't know a thing about jobs on railways aside from Drivers and Firemen, still very interesting though.
Ah, don’t beat yourself up about it. There’s actually a lot that even I don’t really know myself. I think it’s mainly because I’ve been into railways ever since I was born that I knew about ‘shunter’ applying to both people and engines.
Thanks Tardis! Great Vid by the way
Liked how one of the lesbians was named karen (cuz that’s usually the name we use to refer to homophobic individuals)
#irony
Fair enough. Although, at the time I wrote this, I wasn’t aware that the name was used in that context and simply used it because it felt phonetically similar to ‘Cathy’ - which, being ‘Cathy and Karen’ sounded like it could have worked to me.
@@TARDIS9 00:03:16 - I like this line: “Well, bust my colors!”
I don’t exactly like same gender couples but I DON’T beat up or say nasty comments to them.
