- After her comments about the Holocaust and the apology that followed, Whoopi Goldberg has been suspended from “The View” for two weeks. The suspension was announced on Tuesday by ABC President Kim Godwin, describing Goldberg’s comment as "wrong and hurtful." On Monday’s episode of the show, Goldberg said that the “Holocaust isn’t about race.” Her co-hosts are reportedly furious over the decision, with Goldberg thinking about resigning.

I don't think they should have suspended her. Everybody says something stupid at times. They should have brought in an expert to educate her and the public in general as to why what she said was wrong and just talk about it. I do not agree with 99% of what Whoopi says, but it troubles me very greatly that she is being silenced because she expressed an honest opinion that wasn't based on hate. Indeed, I have to agree with her, being Jewish is NOT about belonging to a race, it is about belonging to a religion and a culture. This should be obvious to anyone who knows the difference between Mizrahi and Ashkenazi Jews, and why that invalidates the idea of Jewishness as merely some kind of racial thing. Expressing such an opinion should lead to a discussion of what race really is. Instead we get unthinking cancellation by the rage mob, the vast majority of whom couldn't name a single Mitzvah.

all unrighteousness is sin and all of us have sinned against the Holy God, and so we all deserve eternal damnation in hell. we could not get right with God by our act of "Good works," nothing by own our righteousness we could do to could save us. which is why there is the "Good news/ Gospel" The debt we couldn't pay, CHRIST payed for us on the cross. we broke the law/ GOD'S commandments, and CHRIST JESUS payed the fine. Only through CHRIST we can be saved, whosoever believes and is baptized with the Spirit shall be saved. and this good news is for everyone, no matter what religion, no matter what sin, Jesus came to save us from them so we could be brought back into relationship with God, and be saved..amen ..

It was about religion, race, disability, genetic cleansing, and a goal to transform people to a supposedly healthier and 'more beautiful' race. So it was about a LOT of things, but mostly religion was it not? It was mostly Jewish people who were killed, aren't there Jewish people of varying races? And they were marked by the star of David too? Genuinely asking not defending, we got taught a lot about ww2 growing up and seen a lot of documentaries over the years but that makes no-one an expert, particularly not me 💜
They were targeting jews for their race. It didn't matter if they actually practiced the faith or not.

In reality, most of the people that accepted the persecution of Jewish people were ok with it because of Jewish people's wealth.
The widespread "reasoning" was that they were born rich and "hadn't earned" that money, so they "deserved" to be put to work in the work camps.

They were targeted because Germans were jealous of ethnic minorities being successful and hated Jews as a ethnicity and religious group aka ethnocentrism and they believed they were the supreme race/ethnicity. There were Jews who were White with blonde hair and blue eyes, they did not get a pass because they looked white. This also included Jewish converts.
