I don't understand the point to diluting the corn syrup. Explanation, please?

Seems to me they are attracted to green. Haha

"Super sticky". yet it didn't stick to the pan or her fingers. I tried it, and it was sticky a few hours, then hardened. Not the least bit sticky.

I feel like honey right out of the jar would be just as effective. And it would stay sticky. Maybe even pancake syrup, molasses, or grenadine

Honey would drip, but perhaps... worth a try.

Does sugar makes it more stickier? Then water dilutes it? It would be awesome if you could explain this. I tried without water and sugar and it’s not sticky enough. With your recipe it didn’t work and dripped after a day .

boiling karo and water together doesn't make it thicker, it's deluding the solution basically. Thanks for the video.

Hello, what have I done wrong if the boiled water and corn syrup mix is not sticky?

Why not just use corn syrup and no water?

Yeah, quite honestly, I’ve had this comment a lot. I made this video long enough ago that I can’t tell you why… but the logic doesn’t look as right all these years later. This video is something that I’m going to have to revisit and experiment with dilutions to see if it is necessary.

what if the whitefly come to the yellow cards but wouldn't have if the cards weren't there. in other words are you attracting them to the plant with the yellow card when they wouldn't have come around otherwise

Love this thought... and I've had the same sort of musings with things like bug zappers. I think in an enclosed greenhouse, where this is likely to be more helpful, you are less likely to attract critters from the natural surroundings to you and more likely to just collect the pests that have arisen inside your unnatural environment.

The idea is to put the card where you have the infestation so they go to the card and not the plant lol
