- PTSD, or Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder, is a condition that develops in response to experiencing or witnessing a traumatic event. While it is commonly associated with veterans, PTSD can affect anyone who has encountered a life-threatening or deeply distressing situation. Symptoms often include flashbacks, nightmares, hypervigilance, and avoidance of trauma reminders. However, Complex-PTSD, which arises from prolonged or repeated trauma, encompasses additional symptoms such as difficulty with emotion regulation, interpersonal issues, and impaired self-worth.
