In other words, K rool doesnt have a relationship. As far as we know. Its just a reference to the iconic line
There's something about the Kremlings that gives off a goofy vibe, yet still lets you know that they're dangerous. with other Nintendo enemies, they just sorta feel like they aren't out to get you, and they're just minding their own buisness. but with the Kremlings, you always get the impression that they're actively patrolling the area in the hopes that they can mess you up whenever they can.
They just feel a lot more malicious than a Goomba or Waddle Dee, and that helps the games they're in stand out.
I would include the Snowmads from Tropical Freeze in the "other Nintendo enemies" category.
Waddle Dees can't bite you and Goombas cant sprint and both are pretty small, Kremlings, though? Massive ass jaws and even the most basic kremling is probably stronger than most humans and that shit CAN and WILL run at you with killing intent, like holy shit you really don't want to mess with them

Isn't Kleever also technically a Kremling? It's at least implied it's a haunted sword of a Kremling. The skull on it is a Kremling skull, after all.

It actually never confirmed what is possessing Kleever. For all we know, it could just be a random ghost of Crocodile Isle

I actually like how the kremlings in dkc3 look like. Since Baron K Roolenstein is a mad scientist who already turned Zingers into the robots Buzz, we can assume he mutated the kremlings with experiements
Personally, I always figured that they were supposed to be rougher and more primitive since they lost their home at Crocodile Isle in the ending of DKC2.
K. Rool does have another relationship with one of the Kongs, one in the game and another one in the cartoon. Cranky apparently is old friends with him according to the Donkey Kong Land story who thinks that DK and Diddy's victory was a fluke so he challenges them to get the bananas back again. As for the cartoon, the two were old friends until K. Rool cheated in one of their challenges. DK and Diddy get them back together in order to keep the Crystal Coconut safe. The two old friends get back together and complete their challenge where K. Rool cheats again and forfeits the prize, that being an umbrella
Krumple may be an ugly redesign, but at least he has an awesome death sound. The guy roars like a Dragon!
The reason of Diddy Kong's racing roster was precisely to create characters. The most successful ones (Banjo and Conker) got their own games
Banjo and Conker already had games in development when they were included in DKR. All the other characters were original to the game (though Tiptup got a couple of cameos in Banjo’s games later).
The European Brawl descriptions makes me actually kinda like the Barrel Blast ones more, Calypso being a music/party themed character seems fun and Kass giving her barrels hair is funny to me (def the Wendy of the krew).
Yeah there's a lot of personality to bring it should they be brought back as actual bosses and flesh out those rivalries more

@@crashtwinsanity5166 For a while ppl just assumed cause Microsoft bought Rare the Kremlings couldn't be used anymore. But multiple games came out after that deal where they're prominently used like King of Swing, Jungle Climber, Barrel Blast and Super Sluggers. And most of those weren't even that long before DKC Returns, only separated by like a couple years looking back. My only guess is they opted not to use them in the past couple DK games purely to not seem too derivative. Stand on their own more. Though I think literally nobody would complain if they did just use them again.
As for Mario spin offs, well they've been relatively boring with rosters in general after the Wii era ended anyway. They need to bring back DK spin offs, but the fanbase seems to only want more platformers. Which i mean they tend to be among the best of the industry consistently, but as someone that grew up during the DK "drought", I'd rather we get more racing games or whatever using the whacky Kong and Kremling fams than put up with 10 years of nothing but 1 (albeit appreciated) remaster like we are now.

6:15 actually Kritters had a high pitch version of that noise, the first time that noise actually appears in the game is on King K. Rool, and then in DKC2 every Kremling has that noise as a joke

4:58 I have reasons to think K. Roolenstein is different person though (though Kaptain K. Rool is still K. Rool) because: His Red Eye is on the other side, he sounds differently, in his sprites his mouth is more lime, and two big stretches: He has a wife, and he doesn't have "Rool" at the end, he has "Roolenstein"
I think there’s a bigger reason, in returns; the banana hoard is given the final boss tiki tong and he turns them into golden goop that turn into hands for the leader. Implying that DK’s banana hoard is actually magic

You forgot one: Krocbot. He is, of course, a robot. He was meant to be in DKC1 but was scrapped. Scrapped so late into development that his sprites are still in the game’s data!
Im a massive fan of King K. Rool and crocodile characters in general and it pains me i knew the names of 80% of these already

The Kremling from dkc3 Crosshairs is also in DK64, he says GET OUT.
Kroc is hands down, the scariest kremling. Dude will just fucking kill you for not getting out in time or not throwing barrels in the right order.

I thought it was funny that Dixie named her pet lobster Thermidor because it's such a fancy name for a lobster, but there's actually a real life food dish that's called lobster thermidor, which made it even funnier. It's apparently some French dish so I dunno what it taste like, but it looks kinda good ngl.
With the barrel Kremlin he for the yellow and black variants I DK2. The black ones in particular nearly gave me a heart attack when I first played DK2, especially when one ran into me and I lost a balloon.
The barrel blast ones are my favorite tbh. They should be repurposed as actual bosses and show those rivalries for real. Kalypso is the fav for obvious reasons
I always liked Klinger for some reason. Used to just find a place to stand and watch him climb up and slide down. Interestingly, he's always shown with a knife in his mouth in the renders but that never showed up in-game. I think he only got a passing mention but you had a LOT to go through. Love the Kremlings, thanks for this.

This was great. I have always loved how they tried their absolute best to stick with K's in the names. Just the simple replacing of C's provides a theme, and I always feel like I have to pronounce the K extra hard to convey that it's a K instead of a C. My favorite is Kopter

As a kid i remember K Roolenstien being K Rools brother. This isnt no mandela effect 😂. K Rool has his left eye all big and bloodshot but K Roolenstien has his RIGHT eye all big and bloodshot. I cant remember where I read it from but i know it was an official Nintendo/RARE source. I wish someone else could confirm this I know im not crazy.

And if anyone is interested go google “king k rool gallery nintendo.fandom” you will see real render artwork from the original games and you can see that K Rools left eye is the one always big and red in dkc1/2 and K Roolenstien its his right eye in dkc3. Then in DK64 it goes back to being his left eye again as if they brought back K Rool. I swear im not crazy yall 😂
I love that this video is an anniversary tribute to the video “Every Single Kong” (as that Kremlings and Kongs are rivals that should be consistent in the Donkey Kong Country franchise), and I remembered that this channel used to be small back then. Fun fact: Four years after the release of DKC3 featuring Krimp, the fossil of a real short-snouted, somewhat doglike mini crocodile, Simosuchus, was described.
The Klaptrap enemies are obviously based on the Snapjaw enemies from Donkey Kong Junior (not to be confused with the fish enemies called Snapjaws from DKC2). Donkey Kong Junior is a borderline Donkey Kong Country game itself, since you play as a Kong saving another Kong, and the ending of DKC2 is a direct reference to the ending of Donkey Kong Junior (in both games, the Kong that you save defeats the final boss with a smash attack).
I love these videos cause there an organized list of a group of characters/enemies but members of the group are either the coolest things on the planet or the worst things to exist and I love the energy. Great video.

The idea of the king of the kremlings being named keith is kinda funny, like bro got one of the worst names ever and had to only ever reference it as a singular k going forwards, just because it'd ruin his image if anyone knew.

My headcanon as to why K. Rool steals the bananas is because they have some sort of ultra-potent vitamins that give him and his minions their strength, but their carnivores so they’re forced to choke them down to have an edge over the Kongs. That’s why most of the bananas the bosses guard in DKC look like they’re untouched.
Kroc was scary as a kid in Donkey Kong 64 lol. "GET OUT!"
He was also in that level in DKC3 Krac Shot Kroc in where you’re getting chased by a cross hair that shoots fireballs at you.
