I never could have stomached Frank after seeing how deranged his identical twin was in the past, I remember in the hospital how Clair recoiled when he approached her bedside and reached out to touch her.
The first time watching it I really thought Claire would feel the same. Idk how she was able to live with Frank after everything she went through with Randall…
Frank was Black Jack’s multiple great nephew and not a twin. BlackJack Randall was evil. Frank was a good man who put up with a lot after Claire came back from the past, even raising Brianna as his own.
I felt sorry for frank a bit,he loved Claire and when she went missing it must I broke his heart, and he excepted her when she got back and took on the baby,he can't help who his ancestors are.
@Joseph Gillespie Yeah, but the second his brother died, he started beating on him. I get he didn't want his brother to die, but beating him tells me he has no good in him at all
Well thankfully he was descendant of his younger brother, so Jamie was able to kill him without endangering Frank
Roger is me when I go to my friend's house and they start arguing with their parents.
The worse is that he is in his own house
@@MegaAndjac ahahahaa true
This is so true 🤦♂️
I must say Frank is quite a tragic character
loses his wife, discovers he's sterile, finds her pregnant, raises somebody else's child for 20 years only to then die and his wife and daugther go back in time to the other man, dude!
Jack would be dissapointed
Frank was no angel.
Yeah it is somewhat sad but a good amount of it is his own fault. He incessantly begged Clair over and over to be with him even knowing she didn't love him anymore. He literally had tantrums over it. Sure he's an incredibly nice guy but he just set himself up for a lot of pain. And then him later trying to guilt trip Clair was extremely pathetic.
Text book simp.
Plus having a certain ancestor…
Tragic, yes; pathetic, quite the contrary. Only the very immature could come to such a conclusion.
Poor Roger is just sitting there like 😳
Outlander is THE BEST show I have ever watched. More happens in one episode than happens in a whole season in any other show that I have ever watched!!
I also enjoy how they accurately portay Natives like me, our customs and languages are treated with respect in this show and that's VERY much appreciated
Lets be honest something decent out of Hollywood is so rare these days the competition is not exactly tough
Mostly because it’s a book. They should just make movies out of books

Tobias Menzies is a wonderful actor. After seeing Outlander it was amazing to see Menzies as Prince Phillip in the Crown .
Yes, he stole every scene he was in. Incredible range
Even though this took place in the 60's in those days a woman who'd cheated on her husband was considered pretty disreputable. In the late 40's when Bree was born It was far worse! In the book a doctor realized Bree had the wrong blood type to be Frank's child and was on the verge of refusing to have her and her mother as a patient until Frank saw it coming and casually said that Claire was a pregnant widow when he married her.
These days we care little. What someone does with their own self is their business. It's between the couple, not us. Some are still chopping at Claire for her "Time travelers divorce" (simply don't go back to that time and they aren't your husband anymore if you never come back.) but most of us love this story despite her seeming offense.
Technically there was not adultery, and so no cheating. Frank was death is 1740, and Jamie was death in 1948.
The old priest at the monastery told her to think of God's time construct, not ours. She married Jamie in the 1700's. She married Frank in the 1900's after Jamie had died. Therefore, Jamie was her first husband. She was a widow when she married Frank, though she didn't know that yet. 😅
Still, by what people saw, and cared about, in the 40's and 50's she'd have been thought poorly of if anyone knew.
Lol Rob is like ".... maybe I don't wanna be here...."
Roger !!
Beautiful scene !
Funny Frank had a vicious streak, he took care of the guy who tried mug him pretty brutally, looks like he had a little of his ancestor in him.
excellent color coordination. books, clothes, furniture. decent effort.
Let her real accent slip with the word "anything" at the end 😆
I knew from the moment she came into the show that she wasn’t actually American. Her voice annoyed me so much and when I searched her up I was not surprised at all
@@gochieie4223 She's a terrible actress.
@@shurik121 she is. This is not at all what I imagined Brianna to be.
@@fatimah230 I'm rewatching the show now, and the moment she and Roger appear on the show is the moment it takes a nosedive in quality. I haven't seen it since it aired and I forgot just how amazing the show was in the first 2 seasons, when it was just Jamie/Claire's story mixed with the history of the Jacobite rebellion.
@@shurik121 the first two seasons were definitely much more compelling. There was more intrigue and idk just more magic that surrounded the Castle Leoch. It was an entirely different world. I wish they had spent more time in it. I didn’t know anything about Highlanders or Scotland except their very long battle to win freedom from English rule. It was so interesting and exciting and so well written…then came Brianna and Roger and their dumb love story 🙄 l could write forever about how much I dislike them so I’m not going to, but can we just replace them with Marsali and Fergus and call it a day lol
Be happy to have someone who could have conceived you as your father! (Frank was sterile) . Love this scene by the way. I understand her hurt completely but she is a brat!
She's also been lied to her whole life, so I totally get it. She's a much more mature character now.
@@xxwhispersxx2856 She had every right to be mad, but at the same time, she was disrespectful as all get out to her mother. I really didn't like Brianna until the fifth season. Thankfully she's matured, like you said.
Jamie was a hot head too. Blame him
I always thought her character was an EXTREME brat & have disliked her from the beginning. Time will tell if she’ll mature in the series or not but unfortunately, her character is totally insufferable! She’s someone who consistently has to learn things the hard way & takes everyone down with her in the process.
I’d love to see how rational you’d take the news your father wasn’t your father, your biological father is presumably dead in the 1700s. That your mother accidentally time traveled and has kept this a secret your whole life.

I understand her shock but she didn't have to treat Claire that way. It was a very complicated situation but I am sure Brea assumed that Claire cheated on Frank.
I agree. The hostility is bizarre. She is angry without even hearing the full explanation. Makes her look super immature.
Or maybe is just all the bad acting by Sophie. 😬
It would be very natural to be angry and irrational when you discover something like that. Not the best acting, though

Can’t stand Bree in these episodes so angry towards Claire…Roger trying to help…brilliantly acted by Caitriona ❤️
Perfectly understandable, she feels her mother treated her father like trash
Yessss i was so annoyed like give your mother chance to finish her explanation. Ik it infuriating having a mother but she was mostly in another world the whole time, bree should also think that if her real father was alive all this time why did claire stay w them the whole time. If she was such a b*txh of a mother she couldve run away after gave birth, no need to make up ridiculous story. Sorry bree, jamie daughter or not, i dislike you alr bcs of this
Brianna not a likeable character or actress
Haven't been in her situation, but I really don't get the anger. You learn your past is more complicated than you thought and "you lied to me" is all you have to say about that? I don't know, man. "Wait, what? What the hell happened?" seems more realistic to me.
I found out the same thing when I was 8 and didn't have that reaction 😂
It's a classic fictional trope.
Poor writing
I think she's angry partly because she feels loyal to the person she recognizes as her father, Frank. She doesn't want to believe that the man who raised her and who she looked up to isn't actually related to her at all. Plus now she knows that her mother technically "cheated" on the man she recognizes as her father, meaning her family was never whole to begin with. All of the secrets coming out after Frank's death also means that she can't even ask Frank his side of the story. Also she was closer to her dad so of course she's going to feel injustice on behalf of her father over the man her mother technically had an affair with to conceive her. I think all of this built up and that's why she's so angry.
I think it is perfectly natural for her to be upset. Frank raised her more than Claire did. Claire was a doctor and always at school and later working. Frank was an academic. Bree spent a lot of time at his place of work. She felt her mom betrayed her dad. Her dad had recently died and she was still reeling from that.
She was shocked about it
What is the name of this episode? I’m binging it on Netflix and feel they miss placed this episode.
Maybe go to Cardiff, Wales and a community of Coal Hill and look for a police box.
Caitriona is way too young to be her mother.

Difficult to believe? Would you believe the cock & bull story that your mother wet back in time two centuries and returned two years later? More likely Claire ran away and had an affair. They broke up and Claire returned to Frank as she had nowhere to go.

She acts like a flat boring spoiled brat for the whole series. Roger's cool. He could do way better
I don't like ppl s$@3 on Clare or Frank. Can anyone blame her for moving on and forming a family without a reliable or known way back? No. When she came back it has been so long for her that she practically became a different person because of it. And as far as Frank goes.... well (at least in the show) he's not the beacon of righteousness but he is very human. He lost his wife to another man, and raised that man's child as his own. He couldn't divorce her without ruining the lives of her and the child (and that is the best case scenario). No he did not do the right things, he cheated, and hid things from Clare and Brianna, but... imagine if doing the right thing meant loosing the most important things in your life? Would you do it? No. He wanted a divorce when he knew no matter what, he lost...

If either of her grandparents had brown eyes she could, recessive genes. Some traits skip generations. My niece has red/ copper hair like her maternal grandmother but both my brother and his wife have black hair.

Everyone seems to ignore that the protagonist is a scumbag that cheated on her husband (while she was supposedly still trying to get back lmao).
If your teleported to the past i think it cannot be considered cheating. Its like saying widows are cheating their spouses if in the future they get resurrected which makes no sense.
Claire didn't cheat because it was circumstances beyond her control that made it necessary to marry Jamie Fraser. She didn't want to, but it was the only way to save her from being handed over to the English (which in that situation was a fate worse than death). I can't blame her for choosing to escape that fate in the only possible way. After their wedding, as the months went on unable to return through the stones, I can't blame her for falling in love.
In your mind it was cheating. There are far too many angles to the subject to make it cut and dried. The priest at the Abby told her Frank didn't exist when she married Jamie and never had. As well, clearly 1743 preceded whatever date she married Frank. Therefore, her marriage to Jamie was the first one. Frank was her second husband.
@@Blue-rl5dp Er, that doesn't quite work because it was the same Claire who first married Frank and later married Jamie. She was entirely conscious that she was getting married each time, and her first husband was Frank. Still, as I said above,, under the circumstances I don't consider her to have cheated. (Had it been Frank who accidentally time-traveled and was forced by circumstances to marry a woman in the distant past, I'm sure he would have done it, and quite possibly would have fallen in love as Claire did with Jamie.)
