The actor who performed Black Jack is so good that I hated him.
I genuinely had to not watch at some parts. He was evil as a human mind could make him lol. Great actor

He was so evil. I usually root for the bad guys because bad guys usually have a good side and misunderstood. But Jack Randall was pure evil. A true sociopath. I couldn't root for him. But I still looked forward to his scene. His last scenes with Jamie was pure evil. Liked how he died so stupidly.
I can still seperate Frank from Jack. I feel two different things for both characters. I feel sorry for Frank having this ancestor that when Claire returns she can't look at him. I am still I. The early episodes of season 2 and I hope she tells him about Jack so Frank can understand her better.
After immersing myself in all four seasons within a two week period, I found it VERY HARD to come back to reality, lol. It is definitely a story that draws you in and makes you feel many things.

I was thinking that Jamie was a very very lucky man to have her be his teacher and partner. Mcdougal gave them both a great gift. One that he could never have even though he tried more than once to get her fir himself.

I intend to read the books. But I will say this. In my 47 years of existence, Outlander is THE BEST SHOW I've ever watched. Diana is obviously a wonderful writer, the crew who put this show together are just top notch. The acting has been superb.

I actually really liked the striped socks specifically because he's so horrid in the series: helps separate the character from the actor.
Galastel He played two completely opposite characters in the show: the gentle, kind and passionate Frank followed by violently psychotic and sadist Black Jack. I loved Frank from the first episode. When Claire nearly made it back to the stones the first time but Black Jack stopped her with Frank being right there on the other side of time, I bawled like a child for him. I was heart broken to see Frank in so much agony for losing Claire.
Illidana, you're right. Frank gets so little screen time, though, that I barely think of him. When I see him, I keep thinking of Blackjack. It's unfair, since Frank is indeed a very nice guy, but that's the way it is for me.

This is the most beautiful cast. They’re all so mature and respectful, and you can tell they really respect one another on such an enormous level and tbh it really reflects in the show. I watched the whole show within a week and they all did so amazing portraying the emotions and story. 🖤beautiful job
The love scenes between Claire and Jamie were out of this world whew!!!!! I’m crazy about both of them!!
The one thing not mentioned very often is the incredible music scored by Bear McCreary. It holds everything together in such a subtle and unintusive way that it is taken for granted and hardly ever mentioned. The haunting Claire and Jamie theame in almost every episode is the prime axample.
The sex scenes in this series (and the shear amount of them) puts Game of Thrones to shame. I was really surprised.
So basically, a non-gonzo porno... wonder why they bothered with a plot at all... my thoughts are that the author said... "I really want to write a porno, but have to convince women to like it some how.... hey... what do you think about a women going back in time... no that was already done (DigitalPlayground - Back In Time A XXX Parody), eh... buts lets just put a lot of money in it and make it somewhat believable and not so blatent... "... bbbbbut it is blatant....

It is very sad that you are so into your porn world that you can't see intimacy is a normal part of life and guess what? Sometimes it is portrayed as such. Unlike many other shows, Outlander isn't filmed through male gaze though.
I can remember ROOTS in my younger years . I couldn't wait to sit and watch, but years later OUTLANDERS came along and has rewritten my life in so many ways. I am 75 and widowed. My husband was my Jamie. Thank you Diane.

I'm usually too busy to get into miniseries, but while dog sitting for a week in someone else's home, I decided to pick a show to pass the time. Oh my gosh, I can't stop watching. I just started this series, and I am hooked. I have never seen such tenderness between two characters on film in a long time. I am in love with this series on so many levels. Sam's and Caitri's portrayal of Jamie and Claire is so good, and their chemistry is so real that everyone seems to focus only on their on-screen romance and relationship. But, for me, Tobias Menzies's portrayal of both Frank and Black Jack far surpasses the others. He is an incredible actor, with a face that is so expressive that he seems to dominate the screen. For me, when he takes Claire into his arms after they come to an agreement to put the past behind and move forward together, after a pregnant Claire's return from the past, is just the icing on the cake. What acting, what emotions.. absolutely incomparable. Love Sam and Caitri... but I feel Tobias is outstanding.
I just started watching, on season 2 & so far the series is incredible..the actors, the production, the scenery. I can't wait to see more. Thank you to all who brought these books to television, great job!

Love this show - acting is great and the story draws you in. Tobias Menzies is exceptional in his portrayal of two vastly different characters (a selfless, kind, loving man and a purely self-serving, evil one). I also loved his portrayal of the middle aged Prince Phillip in "The Crown". Looking forward to seeing them all in future shows!
I love Tobias, he's such a brilliant actor. He make me hate Jack Black so much, almost disgust me, and then my heart breaks for Frank.

I finally figured out the appeal of soap operas, after becoming obsessed with this show. Finally started to see what it was about in 2022 and it took me in immediately. Very cool story, great actors and very nicely done.

Omg I literally just started watching the series 3 days ago and already on season 3!!!!
My all time favorite movie is Braveheart because at the time I watched it I was 22 yrs old and had NEVER seen an ending like that before. It was life changing for me as a viewer.
Outlander has brought me back to that raw emotional time and my heart is in my throat.
I can't imagine what Frank went thru, what Claire went thru and Jamie went thru... 3 POVs that are bitter sweet in every turn. I don't know if I should be happy or sad.
But as painful the journey I ❤️ it so much!

Finished watching all seasons recently. Beautiful acting and amazingly surprised with the love making (I prefer to call them this because of the beauty of how it was portrayed. Not just sex) scenes.

The most amazing thing about this show is the respectability of the sex scenes and their role in the character and relationship development. You can see Claire and Jamie's relationship grow in each scene. The shattering of Jamie's spirit after season 1. It evokes emotions of love, passion, and empathy from the audience in a way that Game of Thrones didn't do. Game of Thrones, as much as I loved it, only used nudity as a novelty. It wasn't integral to the story. It didn't add anything to the character development. It didn't bond you to the characters EXCEPT in Drogo and Daenerys's relationship.
They showed only what needed to be shown in Outlander and it made it so much better.

I read the description of the show when the first season came out, I wasn’t interested, then I came back to give it another try and fell in love with it. I hate history, but this show really drew me in
That guy who plays black Jack is an unsung hero.
Everybody hates him but he is THEE best actor of all of them.
He's sitting there and he'd be as well not there. It's all about the other two and when they do ask him something, he's in the middle of speaking and Catriona talks over him and cuts him off to talk about herself, again it's all very disrespectful and rude to him.
That man is a genius and I have never seen an actor with such mastery and sheer balls to go all out in acting his parts.
The man is simply a genius and very unassuming in to the bargain.
I can only imagine how he felt sitting there with the other two big egos basically being ignored most of the time.
The only two were the director(?) I can't remember his name and Catriona. Sam's voice is so quiet sometimes you miss what he's saying.

I love the books and the show's interpretation of them. All the actors including minor characters are excellent. Watching this piece of the interview and the audience reaction is fun too. You can tell the show is loved and the audience appreciates all involved in the show. They laugh, giggle and seem to be listening attentively because they feel like they have come to know these characters as you would a friend. The sex scene stories are amusing but it's more than that. It's a show with a story you experience not just watch.
I am one big fan of Outlander I think Jamie is so sexy and I love claire she's so intelligent I love everything I am totally addicted I can't wait to watch it every day and when the seasons have finished I nearly want to cry keep going with these beautiful portrayals of human nature
