#SprayWayCustoms #Consew206RB #CarUpholstery #IndustrialSewingMachine #WalkingFootSewingMachine
Finally somebody doing something different to peak interest. Everybody learning at the same time. Sprayway has shown us so much over the years, no fancy nothing just him and us, we all learning together.
Was watching this with my wife who sews. She says you should follow the arrow when you manually turn the thing on the right at the end of a stitch. She says she's not 100% sure if it really matters but it's good practice.
Personally, I think it's great that you just got it in your head you wanted to do this and opened your wallet and got some of the best tools money can buy. Thanks for what you do!
You've got it cornered! I'd recommend sewing a couple head rests with a top stitch. Those are about the hardest thing to sew because they are small and the curves are tight. If you can get those nice, everything else is a piece of cake... Then the lock stitch at the start and finish is an art form. If you bury them behind another seam, you don't need to lock. If you can't bury them, then a lot of people turn 90 degrees and do their lock that way. I'm excited to see what you come up with. Your custom door panels and dash panels are going to be at another level.
You never cease to amaze me brotherman, you got it going on, body work, paint, and now you're gonna do seat and fabric work too. I am impressed man.
SprayWay...I'm with you all the way my brother...you see a solution to a problem and figure it out....logics. I enjoy every video/tutorial that you drop and recommend you often to consumers and DIYers. You inspire me and others to just go out and try to learn and succeed through it all..Thank you for the life lessons that you passively display and the integrity of your character... Much love from Columbus, GA!
SprayWay is a poet in the paint booth, a fiber glass wizard and soon he is gonna be a sew king! Keep up the good work! I always look forward to a newly dropped video from you.
You got this bro . I'm so envious of your work ethic and that will be just another thing that you are great at doing you amaze me with all the things you do and you always have everything in control and never get overwhelmed just one great job after another
I TOOK SEWING IN HIGH SCHOOL, AT THE END OF EACH STICH....I USED TO BACK STICH TO KEEP IT FROM COMING LOSE, ONCE YOU GET TO THE END ,PUT IT IN REVERSE THEN BACK FORWARD AT THE END
You must start and finish with a back stich ever panel. 🤙🏽
Yep, @@TheInkhousecustoms
Just like every other thing you’ve done, you will figure it out. No doubt. You ain’t scared and that is why we watch SprayWay! Get in there and get dirty. I’ll cutchu back on! Appreciate you my man. Can’t wait to travel this journey with you.
The consew has the option of a double needle it makes the job of the french stich perfectly even. Also get you some 207 weight thread for the strength 💪🏽. Much ❤ on you new adventure.
You provide great interest for wanting to explore new talents. I look forward to what you learn with this machine. I’ve wanted to take on upholstery for years but my standard machine just can’t handle it. Nice investment!
We gotta get brothers like you registered with the board of education so they can give you guys grants to pay you all to educate others in person rather than having so many brothers swimming in trade school debt, assuming that they can even get grants and loans. So many if us are denied education funding in favor of government funding immigrants.
Those are the best. My buddy has an upholstery shop and specializes in durable materials for cars and Boat Tops, and has several of those Consew Machines, only his are all older heavy gray suckers..but he swears by 'em.
Somebody came by way back in the late 80's trying to win him over to some other brand - short story - nope, Consew is his machine and he ain't switchin'..
Good on ya for jumpin' in with the best. Appreciate your videos and your style of content. You're a real one.😎👍
Sprayway .I'm glad you decided to make your move into the upholstery arena...I've learned so much from you its incredible. (One say we'll meet).... I learned alot from a guy named "CECHAFLO"s channel along with "UPHOLSTERY TIPS" . Alot of his stuff is in spanish, but you are smart enough to descern what he's doin....thus is how I started my UPHOLSTERY biz....you bought a great machine....I'm in Connecticut and wish I was closer to help. There's also the "LUCKY NEEDLE" and "OLD SCHOOL UPHOLSTERY "...GOOD LUCK TO YOU MY BROTHER.....
Brotha I bought the same machine and taught myself to sew just like this 7 years ago after I paid a shop to do some work. When I got home and REALLY looked at my stuff, lets just say I wasn't a very nice person to them. Anybody that has the patience to learn and do paintwork, damn sure can do upholstery work. Hell you might end up completely switching over. Its a hell of a lot cleaner and safer work. Start taking things apart and sewing them back together. It doesnt matter what either could be a pillow, a jacket a car seat. Sewing is sewing
Man the Evolution of Sprayway! Shoot after while you be a one man shop! Thank you for sharing. I will really be interested in seeing more of the sewing aspect. From tops, headliners, seats, door cards, and dash pads! Can't wait!
Thanks for the big support
If there is anything I learned about these machines, spend extra on good feet. The feet hold everything in place and get that control that you can not do with your hands until you get more experience. Love these machines.
This guy has been doing upholstery for like 43 years. He teaches it pretty good on his CZcams. Old School Auto Upholstery Techniques.
You did the right thing by learning the details of sewing , maybe a close friend might want to assist your operation and you could be hands off and supervise. Keep going !
I like people who are always looking to better them selves because the world keeps fobbing them off with crap . My dear old dad bless his soul said to me once you’re doing the job anyway so do it right because it’ll take you much longer to do it twice ! Sprayway is definitely a dude I admire he works extremely hard likes things done right and puts a lot off effort into making that happen 👍
No doubt in my mind. You will be great at doing interior work. You are the man when it comes to painting body work.
Dayum, that dude musta been drinking heavy while sewing that fabric up. Thats unbelievable. Best of luck brother, learning something new can never hurt.
That fabric work is subpar. Having seen many of your videos, (I might look new becuz CZcams squashed my old channel) and knowin' how u do..yeah, amateur or not, you would do a better job, even if you had to take 3 stabs at it. You're an honorable man not snitchin' out the name of the sloppy craftsman. Respect brother, seriously.😎👍
westport here sir. tired but alive.
you do know having that sewing machine could run you into painting boats. jell coat painting is an art form. high dollar work in boats. if you got a boat. you got a couple of nickels to rub together. and all that boat vinil is high dollar work. take a walk in a boat sales place. wishing you well. god bless you and yours.
thats growth playa. Learning new trades to expand the brand. Taking Sprayway to a whole other level
That’s very cool Mr. Sprayway, the possibilities are endless. Sprayway Customs one stop shopping for all your custom car needs
Big ups to you Big Spray Way! Do ya mothafycking thang King! I'm proud to see another Indigenous brotha keep inspiring his self to be better and greater. Your my inspiration Big Spray way, live you 4 that King!
I watch your videos and you do great work and I totally respect your hustle. I see a lot of you in me meaning that I try to learn to do everything solo and use it to make that money in the automotive field. I had a family member that is financially stable and i felt they were hating on me because they said i need to find one thing and stick to it. i tried my best to prove em wrong and burnt myself out in the process. To break it down, i think your passion is paint and body, if you want to expand the business, buy the equipment but network and bring in people with the same hustle mentality to operate it that you feel you can trust. My passion is auto repair. I took a risk on buying equipment after trying things a time or two only to end up with incomplete projects. yes i have a sewing machine and all and did one interior for myself and attempted one partial seat repair on a buy and flip vehicle.
you like me done mech work for 50 years then a little body work now doing upholestry work really like it all i have a 206 rb and a pfaff like both you will enjoy and learn im still learning and watching videos
I never did upholstery before until I started watching CZcams but I did my car didn't look bad for the first time
I just got into upholstery for 2 years and that 💩aint no joke. It definitely takes a lot of practice.
I literally have Ben watchin spray way for 2 yrs. I have an industrial Juki machine that I have done one project with. I look forward to seeing him do his thin with upholstery. God bless
Get all that bread, SW. One stop shop fasho. Elevating and educating
Idc what nobody says this man can do anything. DA🐐 💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
You’ll get it. That last one you did looked real nice 👍
Bro you are EXTREMELY talented (gifted). Been watching you a long long time. I started an upholstery business 3 years ago and it literally blew up over night. I had never done any type of sewing before but thanks to CZcams I can stitch with the best in my opinion. If I could give you one piece of advice, it would be this. I have the Consew 206 RB and it's an excellent machine. Definitely a must have but since you do mostly cars, please do yourself a favor and get you a good long arm sewing machine. Trust me, you'll thank me later and save yourself alot of unnecessaryfrustration. Watching how great and consistent you are at everything else you do, I have no doubt you're going to master this as well. If there is a way to reach you, I would like to reach out to you. Blessing to you Bro!
Ive been in the upholstery business over 40 years, been using 2 Singer walking foot machines I bought at an auction ....After trial and error got them working perfection. That said over the years I wished I had a newer machine...2 years ago I bougth the exact machine you purchased. I find its perfect for my business. Not sure if you are aware but there are many types of feet you can buy for the consew, even one to help sew double topstitch seams with perfection...Good luck and keep up the nice work, You are very talented!!
I got to tell you my friend I love what you are doing and learning and taking me and everyone else on the experience of learning something new that is way out of our wheelhouses.
I like you am not as they say " book smart" we can read but we learn better and faster with our hands and eyes. We can look at something in a picture or book and duplicate it.we only look at the instructions as a reference tool to see where things hidden in the picture go and proceed to figure it out.
Basically we make our own path to get to the end result and we constantly work to get to the finished product faster and easier.
Like you I can do everything to get a vehicle back to like it rolled off the assembly line.
But I buy the seat covers and foam the vinyl top door panels etc.and can repair and refinish the plastics that are not available or cost way to much for what they are.
I admire your drive and dedication to getting it done right... and yes sometimes it feels like more of a curse then a blessing.
my morals will not let me do things half-assed...and I noticed you are the same way from all of your videos I have watched.... sorry I got long winded... again thank you for all the learning and visual teachings.
You are a talented individual and I support you in your indevors and look forward to more 👍👌✌️
You get the best control of your quality by keeping it in house. Props to you for taking this on and learning something new.
Thanks for taking the time to share!
Sprayway can do anything, good job man. You are a talented dude!
After watching your videos on recovering a dashboard,I decided to give it a try and it came out very nice with matching door panels
Bro you've always been a high level of inspiration for me, and based on your thumbnail only.
NOTHING is a good idea when you try something and it don't come 100% natural.
But all the things I've seen you put out, all the things I've tried and succeeded at pulling off because of all the work you put in, and taken advice ( albeit indirectly) and put into practice, it became a good idea, nobody learns by being able to do everything the first time they touch the project.
Keep up the good work, and keep the inspiration to push harder at getting better coming
Back..I mean waaay back in the day, before your day, when worthy men were more rewared..a guy like you, that did work like you do, would have a client line a mile long, be booked thru infinity, and have a shop plumb full of employees if u wanted them. No joke.
That's a good machine. I had and old Consew 226 that I used for a year or so. then bought a Juki 1541s. Got to get back to sewing now that I ween your video!
If you push the peddling back ward it put the brake on bearlee rises or left your foot just a little and the hand will turn easily. Mark Tennessee
This is awesome, learn another skill in the car world and have something to do and be profitable with when body work starts wearing out the body. You got this Sprayway, and we here rocking with you.
You look like your having a great time . Congrats on your biz expansion
Expanding your horizons I see. You know what they say big risks equals big rewards. Go for it brother! 👍😉✌
I think that a 💯 my brother, have watched you before…with the pride you put in your work. I’m glad to see you add another level to your skill set…
If you handle this like you do painting, this will be high quality!
Glad to see you doing good
Stay Blessed and Sucka Free
Remember to lock your stitches in you do that by reversing and going forward at the end in the stitch. Half inch seem allowance is okay for practicing you can always trim extra from back but try 1/4 inch
I have been watching you for a little while you are a jack of all trades and the master so doing upholstery also fits you great 👍 job as always
Outstanding!!!!!
When I retired out of the Army, (Ft McClellan, AL) i stil needed to work.
Theres a small commu ity col!age locally, and i found out they had a sewi g class, taught at a sewing p!ace in the next town over, and i always to?d myself that I'd take classes when scedual allowed..well, years later a d fully retired, the class is no longer available.
I'glad your giving it a shot😊
Broooooo (We Are Watching A Master At Work) 💪🏾💪🏾♥️💪🏾💪🏾
Im with ya brother, becoming harder n harder to find people you can rely on to do work we don't do. But im headed same way, just do it all yourself and learn some new shit along the way 👊
Can't wait to see your final products
You can buy supplies from Albright like Sew foam. Lock your stick.Mark Tennessee
You are a true artist so it only makes sense. .
Congrats on the sewing machine
All I know is when he does master it it's on the floor
His attention to detail is u matched
💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾 that’s exactly how I started bro and tried of gettin half a$$ work done I bought one and do it myself now 💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾🫡🫡🫡 you definitely made the right move 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
Spayway, make sure you double check the ruler on the tabletop with one you trust. I’ve seen them be off by a quarter inch
Motivation
Yes indeed
Your work is legendary
If anyone can figure it out it's you bro 💯 everything you touch is going to turn off perfect, just take your time and piece it together.Who's the master?😊
I use 3/8" Sew Allowance. Some use half inch.
Just keep practicing bro. Trial and error, then you will master it. I have several machines and it took me a about 6-8 months before I master the art. Note that one of the fist things to do is to learn and know your machine. Learn how to make it work for you. Over time, you will get better and better. But when bulk work presents itself, you will need backup.
Love how you see something you didn't like as in the product a professional put out and said nah I'm going to learn how to do this myself so I can put out my own top notch product. No corners cut. Salute bro. We learning with you!
Keep elevating bro! Can’t wait to see you master this skill.
Great job Sprayway!! Keep up the great work and content..as we all know practice makes perfect and the more you do the perfect it will be..you got that French stitch looking good Brother!! 💪🏾 💯
All... it's definitely going down now‼️ Let's goooo
After you do a french stich , you cut off the excess underside fabric close to.the stitch so it will lay down
That looks good bro for your first time
I appreciate it
Try wetting it down a little then taking a heat gun to it, it should take the wrinkles and draw it up a little . The wavy stitching you really can’t do anything about outside of re-stitching it. Upholstery ain’t hard just takes time go slow you’ll pick it up.
Spray way you didn’t do to bad on the sewing machine. I might have to bring my vehicles to you.
Your just God's blessings to us
Watching your channel I believe your creativity will change the upholstery game believe and achieve with GOD my brother 👍
Love the Content. I use pre-Spun bobbins. So they will be more consistent on my machine. I have a Singer 211G
Clean! Yours looks 100x better than whoever did the one in the beginning.
I got that same exact sewing machine, it was my first one
You’re on your way.💯💯💯💯
I see you don’t mind showing people ur work I love when you say let’s learn together
looks good you got this! I can not wait to see what you put out it will be awesome like your paint jobs are
I’m happy to see you starting upholstery I have no class or way to learn it in my area now I have a great way to learn
I waited for 2 years for someone to do my top on my vert. I got my car and took it somewhere else. I had to let people know he didn't stand on business. He was getting over on a lot of people but no one was letting others know.
Jack of all trades
Practice makes perfect 👍🏿 👌🏿
Man you picked a hard one! I've been battling the sewing machine on and off for Fifty Years!
Oooooohhhhh now you know they had a drink or 2 before they sewed that but you got my full attention!
That light is searing my eyeballs on 40% screen power. Lol
I used to do car upholstery back in the 99-2005 until the others started doing it for cheaper than me. I stayed with doing towing and auto repair business. Now they are reaching back out to me because of the bad experience they’re getting from the people just doing it for the money, not the quality, and I am currently starting back doing the upholstery and my channel, too. @sprayway
You backstitch the first run, and for the French seam, you roll Thur using your foot on the middle seam to have straight lines. How I do it
Ay that's some good thinking there brother, trying something different which is good to see, practice makes perfect and I'm 110% sure you will nail it on the head it's a shame that other business sent that job out looking like that coz they have just lost a valuable customer
I'm very inspired, keep doing what you're doing brother!!!💪🏿💪🏿💪🏿
Yo I just started auto collision and paint classes today fam!!! You and true grit inspired me a lot!!!
You got this man!!!!
@StitchedbySlick will have classes coming up soon if you want to be taught by the Best
Practice makes perfect. Keep up the good work 💪🏾 💯
Look at you stepping it up once again:.. Salute 🫡 🔥💯👌🏽
