Was in my mid-20s during Grunge era...it exemplified my generation's mood and views of the world. Grunge is still my favorite genre to this day and I'm almost 59

Such a true statement. "Garden" has always been my favorite Pearl Jam song of all-time. It's so hauntingly beautiful, and when that guitar solo kicks up near the end of the song....WOW! Such an underrated track.

Always reminded me of death or a funeral. 'Garden of Stone' being the cemetery itself. The rest of the lyrics are the living family, knowing they can't control what happens...hence 'hands bound'. What a deep, meaningful song...love Eddie & PJ

His voice was such a pleasant surprise to the music scene back then. Like "Who is this guy with his extremely heavy emotional singing??" The rest of the band was outstanding of course.
Grunge was So different to metal The Lights and shades, tempo changes, emotional ups and downs and strong catchy melody is what really caught me with Grunge and this song nails it on every one of those. Remember the first time I heard this song , blew me away. Listen to it now and it takes me right back to my room as a kid.

With fear of stepping into hyperbole...this song has it all. Incredible guitar work at the start, haunting lyrics delivered by one of the best male voices going, and a rhythm that keeps you moving and guessing all the way. Pure class

Best part of my childhood.. all my favorite childhood memories are tied to this album. 2 years later 1994 I walked into a shop and bought a nirvana shirt the day Kurt blew his mind out thanks Seattle.
