I have a sort of fantasy/Disney/Maximalist tree!🥰 Lots of colours and different decorations. I usually only get one of each so I have collected over the years! Some cheap, some fancy handmade and more. I absolutely love it because it looks so magical and I love looking at all the different ones I've collected❤❤

Very vintage. I love 1940s 50s decor. I still have some of my grandma's stuff from when I was little. I have a tinsel tree that I put in my kitchen with original 1940s ornaments that I've collected over the years and a Putz house village. It all just brings me back to my childhood.

My aunt studied art a few years ago and was teaching people drawing techniques etc and was of course doing commisions of very different kinds. Then she got a dog and met other dogpeople on their walks. Now she almost exclusively draws portraits of dogs. This really is a lucrative niche.
Every ornament on my tree is handmade! Which sounds fancy until I add that they are all made out of unrecyclable packaging material, TP rolls, and popsicle sticks. 😂 I think that's just proof that if you put enough love into something, and give it enough sparkle, it ain't garbage anymore!

I'm Australian and I refuse to allow ice or snow themed decor into the house, nothing makes more upset than looking at a snowflake while it's 36 degrees Celsius. My theme is seasonal fruits. Fruit bat in a santa hat, magpie holding a single bauble, watermelon tablecloth and mangos in a nice bowl.

Oh I just made a similar comment further up! I painted some jacaranda flowers on card and strung them up to make bunting - I love having holiday decorations but actually seasonally relevant!
The slow-mo definitely added to the dramatic effect of the experience! My holiday decor aesthetic is very heavily influenced by the following: Yule, gothic style, Ikea, Halloween, vintage. Whatever that is, I am that. :) I am also a proud member of the Long Leg/Big head club!
I read part of that as "gothic Ikea" and now I'm really intrigued.

OooOoh, KATHLEEN!!!! Put Velcro (soft side facing out) along the inner “rim”/edge of the cuff of your pants and then make all kinds of cuffs that are quick-changeable!!! This will feel so much like your are a giant doll playing dress up and switching out your looks.

I'm thrilled to know I've made it, since I already have a hole puncher!!! Your stars are one million times better than the boring craft store ones! Aldi sometimes has great teas for cheap. Look for cranberry-hibiscus. I put two bags in a big jug of water for cold brew. Add a little fresh juice or fruit and it's delightful! You could spray the back of all your stars gold, although you'd probably need to unstring them for that. Feeling very exclamatory today!

Well stinky woman, loved the flow of the vid. Ideas sprouting everywhere--would expect nothing less. As a 6' tall female who grew up when there were very few long length jeans, pants etc I used to have do exactly what you did and used all kinds of trims too. I hate peddle pushers to this day 😂

You could spray paint the back of those stars in gold. You could even add glitter if you wanted to, or if not they would be slightly different and that's OK,

Love seeing the DIY holiday decor! I love to find homemade ornaments and decor thrifted or at craft fairs. This year I got a set of Moravian stars from the sweetest old man who goes around, asking people if he can take their old fallen trees. Legend. Also, Stardew valley THE CONCERT? I must learn more!
I wasn’t able to get Stardew tickets in Cincinnati but I WAS able to get them for Chicago so I guess that gives me an excuse to go back to Chicago 🤷🏽♀️😊

Had a thought - could you use a Cricut to cut the heavy, scratchy glitter paper? (Isn't that kind of what they're for?) Maybe a cool vid idea is figuring out weird ways to use a Cricut machine.

I love everything except for the tinsels...they are hazardous to animals who might accidentally swallow them not to mention that they are bad for the environment. I love your channel so much for giving life to thrifted/vintage things. Can't wait for the final result
I hear ya! It won’t be going into the landfill any time soon & my pup isn’t interested in it, but certainly not my most sustainable purchase like I mentioned in the vid :(

When I was in high school I could never buy jeans long enough (I’m 6’). I used to cut about 6” of leg off, then put in an insert of a contrasting fabric. I thought it looked more intentional that way, by having original fabric at the bottom.
I'm old enough to remember when Chuck e Cheese was called Showbiz Pizza. Excuse me while I go find a rocking chair to die in 😅
You may enjoy tatting, it's a lace making technique. It might be a bit tedious though lol but if you get up to speed you can make lace doilies as ornaments with some pva glue or fabric stiffener :V

The first year in my current house I made so many paper chains and then my housemates didn't want to take them down so we've had them up for like 3 years.... I made some jacaranda ornaments because jacaranda blooms around Christmas in Australia. I want to make more summer relevant decorations... Maybe some lorikeets munching on peaches?
Two honest to G-d late 60’s Christmas crafts: we would take a Readers Digest magazine and fold down each page making a tree shape, spray painted green. #2- take computer punch cards,fold over the ends on a short side, arrange a ton of them in a circle and spray paint it and decorate as a wreath.

My absolute favorite night in the past 6 months happened last week. My roommates and girlfriend and I all went for dinner and ice cream and then we sat around going through our spotify wrapped together and we took turns playing our top 5 songs for each other (spotify's jam feature worked SO well for this)
Point is, yeah. Hanging out and enrichment in my enclosure time IS what I want from adult friendships.
I started making my own decorations while watching, by cracking walnuts, that will be glued back together, painted gold and hung on string. My grandmother used to have those on her tree and I always wanted some for myself.
The best decorations are the ones you can snack on. ✨

I managed to get stardew tix for my oldest for Christmas and tbh I’m probably more excited for it than she will be 😂 I put the release time in my calendar with a reminder so that I wouldn’t miss it, but I wasn’t my expecting them to sell as fast as they did so it’s a good thing I did. My decorating style is either “wait, it’s (holiday)?” Or a themed store vomited all over my house, there is no in between 😅

I'm 5'8" and my pants are almost ALWAYS a little too short! My mom taught me to take the hem down and add hem tape to gain an inch or so. I've also taken out jean hems for a raw hem, or rolled the pant leg up for a purposely high-water look. I think it would be really fun to see other creative ways to add length!
