Raag Maru Bihag is a very serene and a much-loved raag. Raag Maru Bihag is broadly acknowledged to be a contrivance of Atrauli-Jaipur founder Alladiya Khan‘s phenomenally insightful mind. The two parts are mediated by special melodic gestures. This skillfully sophisticated interplay of the two diapasons is the characteristic flavour of Raag Maru Bihag.
This baithak was held at the initiative of Ved Gupta as a part of bazm e Khas foundation live concerts.
The idea behind this upload is to preserve this collection of great music for all music lovers and students of Hindustani music. We treat this upload as a cover version.

Waah, waah! Ustadji is no less than magical, Bazm-e-Khas once again doing great justice to his sound with terrific reproduction. Those who say Maru Bihag is a "chotaa raga" need only listen to this man present it to realize that no raga is any less beautiful for lack of scope - it's all in the artist's mastery. Terrific accompaniment as always by Alvi saheb as well, well balanced, clear, yet powerful when it should be so. Thanks so much for the beautiful upload!

It's indeed a 'chotaa raga' for vocalists, but not for instruments. It sounds repeated for vocalists because vocalists can not keep repeating one phrase continuously, but for instruments it is possible to repeat one single phrase in different rhythms. So it can be expanded much more for an instrument
