For those wondering, the 42nd Street (S) used to run two three-car sets, and one four-car set, the three-car units went to tracks 1 and 4, while the four-car unit went to the now former Track 3. After it's rebuild, it runs two six-car sets for Tracks 1 & 4! 🎉
The days we have spent riding 3- and 4-car R62A 42nd Street Shuttle trains on tracks 1, 3 and 4 is the type of nostalgia that will forever remain in our memories rent-free
To be honest, I do miss that bridge on track 4. But there’s no doubt that it was trouble to take apart every time a train needed to be transferred. I honestly still wonder if a crossover between tracks one and four is even possible, depending on where the BDFM passageway is.
L train would have to switch from Canarsie line to J/Z line (Brooklyn Broadway line) at Broadway Junction, then go thru Christie connection (M line) after Essex St, then finally switch from 6th Av to 8th Av line at West 4th St

How do they get L's onto the A&C? L TO M, then switch at West 4th is my best guess.
