Ok guys. You dissed YES, my first fav band. I think the last album I bought of YES was Talk and I recall putting it in the turn table, ( yeah I am that old ) and I did not listen to even one song all the way through. I never bought another YES album. I had up to than bought every yes album. Every solo album put out by all the band members including Moraz. Crap I lost my train of thought. Anyway. You guys crack me up. Loved this video. I have seen a few of your posted videos but this one was really a gut buster. Keep up the good drinking. Oh crap I meant keep up the good work
Hey Douglas, thank you kindly for your reply. Glad you liked it!!
'The Final Cut', a flop!? Surely not! When I was growing up I really associated with this record, thanks to watching lots of war/b&w films. These days 'Animals' is my favourite. Oh, and Freedom To Glide's 'Rain' is a fine record and I recommend it, but not for getting a party going - it makes 'The Final Cut' (which influenced it directly) sound like Jive Bunny!
And 'Larks Tongues In Aspic', the worst Crimson LP!? Crazy - it's their best, if not the first time you listen to it! lol
Topographic is 80-90% greatness. Thank you for avoiding the mistake of those prog-metal hiveminders who seem to crusade against it. May not be their absolutely best album but still very great and definitely not a flop. Tormato on the other hand.. is not one of their best.. but I still enjoy it quite a lot.
TFTO was part of my introduction to Yes back in the 70s and I have always loved it dearly. I find it quite gratifying to see young music reactors on CZcams who not only deeply appreciation this masterpiece but are, in some cases, actually moved to tears by it. The dreary "Tormato", on the other hand, was my final indication that Yes were no longer a truly progressive or even interesting band.
I am absolutely giving up my Tenacious D obsession ! The Yak attack is where it's at !
This was a hilarious ride! SUBSCRIBED!
Hey, thanks mate, glad to hear you enjoyed that video!
Absolutely lovely 👍👍
Awesome idea. I think my Melbourne mates might are going to have to try this :)
Thank you mate!
This is brilliant. It's like Saint & Greavsie, for music. More of this, please!
I am a tea-totaling prog fan and this is the best video on CZcams thank you i am ROFL 😂😂😂😂🤟🤟🤟
Hi Rofl, thank you for stopping by. Glad to see you have a sense of humour!!
@@theyak7912 I think I do but my wife disagrees at times ;)D
(8:00) What about "Relayer"? I always liked that one.
This was fun. I would have taken only 4 shots, luckily.
Hugs from Brazil 🎉
Regarding Love Beach, you said "They actually did tour the album, but were hardly talking to each other". There was no tour. To my knowledge, they never did a single show to support Love Beach.
Thank you for not choosing Giant For A Day and shame on you for choosing The Final Cut!
Interestingly, I was into (and currently have!) all the early/classic LPs by King Crimson, Pink Floyd, ELP, Yes, Jethro Tull, and Genesis, but, never bought any of the "flop/disasters" LPs noted in the video, so, I wouldn't have had to drink even one shot if I was playing along!!! You could have got me with Gentle Giant though...
Hi Karl, well you’re obviously smarter us!
i love breathless. sorry lads.
Well this is definitely a fun one and I certainly have to agree about that Tull album (the recent stuff without Martin Barre is abysmal and pointless then yes King Crimson Beat (in fact Three of a Perfect Pair left me disappointed) also Tales from Topographic Oceans is a tedious listen and I’ve tried to like it. I also prefer the early King Crimson albums and on through the John Wetton era. Cheers from Utah 👍
Hey thanks for watching Jonesy. Wetton (and Lake) with Crimson still are big favourites of mine. Cheers
The music on Love Beach was good!
I agree!
“Memoirs” is a great track with great playing from Keith and some lovely vocals from Greg.
Sadly, this track is often overlooked.
I agree , the problem was Peter Sinfields awful lyrics !
To me The Final Cut have very memorable tracks, despite the issues inside the band. The worst Pink Floyd albums came all after this one. A period that not by accident some people call The David Gilmour Experience 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 A Momentary Lapse of Reason is maybe the worst of it all but at least the title is perfectly suitable to the content!!
And Camel did not do a bad album too…!
Epitome: "E-pit-o-mee"
Hilarious !
Thank you kindly Patrice!
Tormatto is a great album. Don’t kill the wale.
There are several very solid songs on this album, one must applaud them for stretching the envelope (still, they could have made Tales 2 at this point but oh well)
I bought King Crimsons Beat , it was terrible and I sold it immediately!
geez, Red Label, budget production
No! Final Cut, no! How about that album with beds on the beach? Or Umaguma? Don’t know how to spell it.
Every real Floyd fan knew Final Cut was garbage when it came out.
@@brianfergus839 the final cut and Ummagumma are great
@@doscwolny2221 Ummagumma 👍
Final Cut 👎
Hilarious😅
Hey thanks Shane!
yeah my wife was wondering what the heck I was watching... i said it was prog related and she shrugs her shoulders!
i totally enjoyed the 3 part ELP special. a fellow prog fanatic from Adelaide SA. @@theyak7912
Hey Shane, that's great to hear (... you enjoyed the Part 3 that is). Hello from Melbourne!
😂😂😂
(8:20l What about "90125" and "Owner of a Lonely Heart"? Those synthy stab sounds! 🤮🤮🤮
If you say Tales, I don't even know what I'll
Tormato? Come on, it's not a great LP, but it's a masterpiece compared to the crap they put out in the post Big Generator era. 🥃🍺
Well said Frank!!!
So if the conversation is top 10 prog flops then you have to address prog albums. Duke, perhaps was a departure from straight prog to include top 40 songs, I don't think this album counts. If you want to talk about genesis flops I think you have to address the album that is too long, is a complete hijacking by Peter Gabriel, and only has 2 or 3 truely memorable songs I think you have to call out The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway. It just doesn't hold a candle to their other 8 actual prog albums.
And now that I've probably caused a train wreck among Genesis fans I'm going to say Rush Roll the Bones is a flop. Due just to the fact that someone allowed Alex to, what would you call it? rap?, on the title track. Sorry but yes Rush did put out a stinker and I bought it. Up yer bum boys!
ELPs worst is In the Hot Seat and then Works 1 that is overblown wank !
