I’m so glad I found your podcast! I’m retired, but noticed I’m not the only one. You make me smile every time you say “Anyhoo.” You are a delight! Your projects are amazing and your stitching is so lovely. I cross stitched many years ago, then quilted, and mostly knit now. I have a lot of fabrics and yarn. The online cross stitch community is amazing now! Thank you for sharing your knowledge of hand-dyed fabrics, new floss companies, etc. Now my fingers are itching to stitch because you are such an inspiration!
Thank you so much for your kind comment. You made my day!! 🥹♥️♥️ I hope you enjoy some new projects and happy retirement, friend!
I’m a retired teacher, and I learned to cross stitch at a “party” of a co-worker over 40 years ago! When I’m not stitching, I’m knitting or crocheting. I read at night!
Okay your friends party sounds like a place I wanna be LOL! That so cool. Happy stitching!
Newbie subscriber here! I’ve been stitching for a little over a year now and it’s become a full blown obsession. Both the actual stitching and shopping for supplies! I’m 34 from Oklahoma and am a surface designer. I illustrate and design patterns for fabrics. I’ve recently gotten into sewing as well (mostly so I can sew my own project bags)!
OMG your job sounds SO fun. That’s amazing. I also started stitching a little over a year ago! Love that.
I'm a Registered Nurse of 24 years. Mom of 5 boys, ages 15 to 20. Expecting my 1st grandchild in December! ❤ I've been cross-stitching off/on since 1987. My high school art teacher actually taught me how to cross stitch! Love watching your channel and Stitches by Shelby. I'm newer to FlossTube, so I'm finding myself going down the rabbit hole of videos! LOL
I'm so glad I found your channel! My name is Jill and I am a mom (chauffeur, chef, referee, teacher, etc.) for four kids. I have been stitching for over 30 years now and I still love it. I also quilt, crochet, sew clothing, play the piano and I love to read. Knitting is definitely on the list of things I would love to learn but I'm afraid to add another hobby to the list right now. I tend to jump in with both feet and let it take over my life. I was dazzled by your beautiful bookshelves (I love anything organized by color) and then I got looking at some of the titles and now I want to pick your brain about books. I'm totally obsessed with all things Tudor England (fiction and nonfiction) and I would love to know some of your favorite books in that era. Thanks for the great video! Your stitching is beautiful!
Omg now THAT is a busy life. Being a mom is so hard, you are absolutely amazing. I am so jealous of the piano skills that’s awesome! I always meant to put out more videos on my bookshelves but I ran out of the extra time. I will have to get back to it when I’ve got a couple free evenings. Tudor history is so interesting I just can’t help myself when I see a history book lol. I am so glad someone else understands the color coordination, I adore it. I know it’s not for everyone but it works for me. I can usually remember the color of a books cover and I can go from there to find what I need.
Great video, as usual. Thanks for asking about your viewers. I think it makes us all a tighter community. I’m a retired RN in Houston TX suburb. My connections to Seattle are 1) I LOVE THAT CITY, 2) my 3rd daughter also decided to become a RN and works at Seattle Children’s. Hospital. She loves the area even more than I do 😉 Happy stitching!
Omg your kids sound so cool! Do any of them stitch? I always wonder if people pass down the hobby or if their kids had no interest at all LOL. I wonder if mine will be interested some day. Happy stitching my new friend. Hope you enjoy your weekend!
I have been stitching for about 40 years. It has changed over the years. My favorite change is you can make alterations to your project like color fabric or floss you use. Not stitching a motif or section if you don't care for it. I didn't know there were no cross-stitch police, LOL.
Have fun at Stitch-Con.
I’m a new subscriber. I’m 32 and a stay at home mom of 5 littles that I homeschool. I love stitching, sewing, crocheting, and gardening. I started stitching as a very little girl and have always done pretty much any kind of art and crafts.
Omg you have your hands full! Five littles, you’re amazing!!
First time viewer. Fun episode. Have fun at stitch con. I came back to stitching after a 25 year hiatus. Got covid and found flosstube a year ago. Happily found new patterns and fabris and flosses. Acorns and threads is my l n s . I live an hour south of Portland. I am a bee keeper for work. 2 kids grown. Love stitching and quilting and chickens.
Thank you so much for watching! A Bee keeper!? That sounds like such an awesome job. Happy stitching my new friend. Hope you have a great weekend.
I rediscovered my love of cross stitch in retirement and also crochet, quilt, read and volunteer. I’m the definition of the sandwich generation as my husband and I share our home with my 92 year old mother and a 26 and 27 year old. There are many things I enjoy about your videos but top of my list is your energy and how fast you speak! So much can be covered in each video and you totally keep my attention. SO many flosstubers have beautiful work to show but their soft, slow demeanor puts me to sleep. I’m a Minnesotan and we love fast talkers! Thanks for adding the shopping recommendations. 🤣😂
Wow!! That house sounds like so much fun. I also love that people from Minnesota talk so fast. I don’t even know why I do. I always have 😂😂💓💓. Do you listen to audiobooks sped up by chance? Lol you’re my people.
72 year old who enjoys watching your floss tube. You are delightful. I was a college health nurse in my former life. I watch museum stitcher too.
Thank you so much 🥹💗. Hope you’re enjoying retirement. I love Brijin! She’s the best.
I am a retired/disabled English teacher and school librarian who is originally from West Virginia but have spent most of my adult life in South Carolina. I live my home bound life with Bingo, my 10-year-old service dog who is a Chihuahua-Pekingese mix. I cross-stitch, crochet (only knit washcloths and hats), diamond paint, make cards, and do punch needle all from my recliner. I love your energy, your talent, and your interest in reading.
Your service dog sounds so cute oh my goodness! What a sweetie. You sound like you have so many fun crafts! Thank you for spending some of your time with me 💓
So good to see you again, and congrats on reaching 4k! 🤩 I am a mom of a soon-to-be 2 year old girl, and I work from home for an elder law attorney. We currently live in Nashville but are moving soon, and I count on cross stitch and Flosstube to provide some consistency in my life during the crazy times! I hope that your life slows/calms down, and you're able to enjoy some "boring" time with those you love. Love seeing your work on your WIPs, especially the Good Intentions piece - your customizations are perfect! Have the best time at Stitch-Con; I'll be at Weekend B and can't wait 😍 Hope you had a great Mother's Day, too. Happy stitching, Megan! 💜
What an amazing job! You sound like a busy woman. I am so glad you’re getting away and enjoying some stitchy time at weekend B. Us moms deserve it! It’s so hard to balance it all and aren’t you just dying with excitement. I cannot wait! Thank you for spending time with me and sharing some of your story with me 🥰💓. Hope you had a great Mother’s Day!
Hey there! Thank you for your videos. I live in Brisbane, Australia and have been stitching for two years. I currently work in a disability service. I had the pleasure of visiting Seattle for the first time in 2019 - my last trip before the world shut down!
I am so glad you got to visit! I love it here. It’s just so beautiful. But maybe I’m biased lol. Thank you for watching ♥️♥️
Your WIPs are beautiful. I have been cross stitching many years. I also tole paint and I am an avid reader. I am retiring next year when I turn 62 in June. I am an RN. Really enjoy your channel
Omg how exciting! Can’t wait to see your comment in a year from now celebrating retirement. I’ve never heard of tole paint. What is that? 🤩💓
Great projects.
Love your fabric choices.
Your knitting is so pretty.
Marilyn
Thank you!
The whole bandana pronunciation really has us in a chokehold 😅
Love you and all of your projects! You always have the best taste in fabrics ✨
I love you my bbyyyyy 🥰😂. Ps. Ban•Dan•Uh will never be a real word. 💀💀💀
Loved the vivacity of this video after a well deserved short break….I agree and ditto to all the previous comments by our “stitchy” friends…..so appreciate how you learn and adjust to first family time…..work time and then extending yourself to new and old fiber- lovers on so many levels….love the request to get to know a bit about your “posse” as the youngsters say….lastly I so appreciate the well-stated reviews (not heavy handed) to relay customer possible concerns when purchasing items on the net……PS my DIL just hit 100,000 Subscribers this last week after five long years of work……keep being yourself “ God Intends Good Things for His/Her People”
Thank you, Sherry! You always know what to say. Congratulations to your daughter in law that’s so awesome! Does she do fiber arts too?
@@TheSeattleStitcher Thanks Sweets for the reply…. she and my son are in the process of moving here from Calgary,Alberta to Shelton…. I am so pleased to have them closer by….. No actually she/they have a company that focuses on body soaps/ lotions called QuenchBear…..not a plug…. just an a lower case fyi haha
Ooo I definitely will check her out! Thank you 😄😄
always love clicking into your blog.. My Name is Ruth and I live in SOUTH AFRICA.. i have been watching your blog for yonks. Keep it up..
Hi Ruth! Hope you’re doing well. Happy stitching. Thank you for watching 💓
Okay I don’t know why I missed this video, but HOLY COW I LOVE YOUR SILOWITCHES RESTART SO MUCH! And I can’t wait to see your face in like a week! Okay love you bye! 😘😘😘
Omg I’ve been watching you guys on the Tv and my dumb a** can’t figure out how to leave comments on the tv so I haven’t been leaving my usual comments either LOL. It happens. Love you so much! 💖💖💖💖
Thank you for the tip on buying fabrics - that orange does look beautiful for Halloween!
I love the it 🤩🫶🏻
Have fun at Stitch Con !! thanks for making videos🥰
I can’t wait!
I’m from Vancouver, Washington but recently moved to the Orlando area! I’m so sad I wasn’t there for the meet up at acorns and threads, love that place!! Special place in my heart for all of my pnw people 💕
I need to drive down and check it out! I have never been even though it’s not awfully far from me. I just always go to Thread Needle Street. One of these days I’ll check it out for sure.
I’ve been stitching for over 30 years. I learned from a neighbor when I moved into my first apartment.
That is so cool!! What an awesome neighbor.
Holy Moly that fabric you picked for that Teresa Kogut Halloween 😍😍😍😍 thanks for sharing your stitching again this week and take care ❤
Thank you!!! 🥹🥹 huge compliment from you the color QUEEN. 💓🥰
Military family here, originally from Tri-Cities WA but ran away to Texas and I’m here to stay! I picked up cross stitch in 2021 aaaaand now I’m obsessed and got my mom obsessed too😂 I am in LOVE with those glasses and your video!
Lol to the Texas comment. I feel like so many people in WA have moved to TX! Which is crazy with the weather difference. I love that us stitchers always try to convince someone irl to stitch with us 🤪 it’s just the best. Lol. Thank you! There is a link to them in the down bar with a discount code 😎😎
@@TheSeattleStitcher awesome I’ll check them out! It wasn’t so bad for me being from the other side of the mountains though! Off to binge your videos
First time watching (from Melbourne Australia), loved your projects. I had to add the Rose Quaker to my list too. Loving the books behind you also. I'm a Tudor fan.
Tudor history is the best!! Maybe I’m biased lol based on the shelves I’d say so. 😂💓
I love how you changed the colorway of Good Intentions to really make it your own!
Thank you! 💓🥰
I just discov!ered you and thouroughly enjoyed your video. I'm a nurse in rural Missouri and like you, a stitcher and avid reader. I love your Vanity Sampler color conversion. I need to watch Cam and get that. I love bright colors!
Thank you for spending some of your time with me! You will absolutely love Cam’s channel. She is amazing.
I'm way behind on Flosstube - time for catchup!
I have 3 daughters - lots of end of year activities. I'm a fraud investigations analyst for a financial firm. I enjoy all crafts but right now Cross Stitch is definitely my jive. I live in the St. Louis area but love to travel! I love your bubbly personality. You are always a joy to listen to when stitching.
Just found your channel. Love your stitching. I live in Upstate, NY and I’m new to the cross stitch community. I love everything about cross stitch. There are no cross stitch shops in my area,so I buy online. I will venture about 2 hours away to Hobby House in Rochester, NY at some point to get that excited feeling of holding fabric and thread in my hands. 😂Enjoy Stitch Con!
Lol! You’re gonna love it, sweaty hands and all. 😆😆💓 I’ll be expecting updates after your visit. 🤣
Hi Megan
I love all of your WIPS - they are so pretty.
Love your Knitting - those yarns are so pretty.
I have stitched Away We Ride but I left the Border off. I did not stitch the Border.
Take Care & Happy Stitching
❤️🤗🧵🪡🧵🔰❤️
I love the pattern so much! It’ll be a fun one to start. 💓💗 thanks for spending time with me today. Happy stitching, friend.
I am still working and will retire in four years. I am new to cross stitch and working on my second chart. I'm enjoying this so much. I do at times have time to stitch while at work. I also quilt, hand embroidery and wool applique.I really like Rose Quacker.
How exciting to be retiring so soon! 4 years will fly by. Your hobbies sound amazing, isn’t the rose Quaker just gorgeous. Happy stitching 💓
I just love watching your videos! I'm a high school English teacher with a love of makeup and fiber arts!❤
OMG you sound like the coolest teacher ever! 💗💓
@@TheSeattleStitcher LOL!
I live in PA. I knit, sew, quilt, crochet and spin. I work in IT by day, and needlework at night.
Oooo spinning! That is something I am so interested in. Love that. Your hobbies sound so fun.
Looking forward to hearing all about StitchCon next month - bet its a blast…..here’s a random thing about me, I never learnt to drive and then at about 47 or 48yrs old I got my learners. Took half a dozen lessons, hated it and never went back. My learners permit expires in August LOL - take care, and travel safe! Nic x
Lol That’s amazing. With all the ride share services these days who needs to drive!
I am retired from the phone company. I have my 88 year old Mother and my 29 and 27 year olds with me. I have a home daycare. We have 2 dogs, 14 cats and yes a house full of foster cats. I do a ton of TNR and I bring home the abandoned friendlies. Plus I’m a kitten bottle feeder-and each night feed at 5 colonies (from single cat to a group of 17). Actually trapped a female tonight. I learned to cross stitch at a party in 1985 and I’ve been hooked ever since. I also learned to crochet watching u-tube videos, and I only crochet blankets. I’ve spend sooo much money on cross stitch patterns and fabric than I ever have thanks to fb and the internet 😅
Now that is a full house. You’re the second person to tell me you learned at a party in the 80’s and I am tellin’ ya they need to bring these parties back because that totally sounds like my jam LOL. love that you rescue all the sweet kitty cats! That’s amazing. You are so wonderful. 🥰💓 thank you for letting me get to know you, Cathy! Happy stitching.
I am Cat. I will be 49 in August. I was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer in my tongue & lymph nodes in my neck right before my 37th birthday. Cross stitch brings me joy & calm. This year will be my 12th year since my cancer was removed. I am left with a speech impediment & some struggles, but I am happy to still be here. After my cancer recovery, I went to college & studied culinary, was Missouri's Regional Vice President for our Honor Society. I was President of my College Honor Society then went on to Art School with the scholarship I earned. I was worried about all of that with my speech problems, but I did it anyway. Life is too short & I almost lost mine. I loved making ceramic sculptures & being involved in art shows. I no longer do all those things, but I sure am glad to have experienced it. You are such a beautiful person & I'm glad you and many other FlossTube friends are here to keep me company. XOXO
What an amazing life. Oh my goodness! Congratulations on your 12th year cancer free. That is so wonderful. I was recently reading and article that talked about people on their death beds and what people “regretted” and for most is was not taking the chance. Like you said, you worried about the speech but you did it anyway. And look at all you’ve done with your life. Just amazing! Thank you for not only spending time with me but sharing some of your life story. 💗💗💗
@@TheSeattleStitcher I realized I almost died without doing anything. That was definitely a wake up call. You are young with a beautiful family make the most out of everyday. I'll see you next time. Love from Cat
New subscriber - retired RN who has recently returned to cross stitching - things have changed so much from my previous stitching!
I bet! I feel like I hear this all the time. 💓
I am north of Seattle and 42 yrs old! So excited to find a northwest Floss Tuber!!!!
I’m neighbors lol! Happy stitching my friend 💖💖💖
@@TheSeattleStitcher yes!!! In Mount Vernon. I have been stitching for 30 yrs!
Aahh! We love you SO much! Can't wait to hug your neck!!
💗💗💗 all the squeezes. Love you guys!!!
We nearly hit our black cat leaving the liquor store on the outskirts of the city before a blizzard. He ran right into my arms and no one claimed him from the SPCA so he was ours on Christmas Eve. Some cats just find us.
I started cross stitching in 2019 with a Christmas gift of a kit but wasn’t really doing much until March 2021 and it took off from there. Plus I was pregnant/on medical leave/sleeping newborn so it really helped fill the time.
Have fun at StitchCon!
I cannot wait for stitch con! I’m so excited. I think it’ll be a blast. You are totally right, some cats find us haha. I love hearing people’s adoption stories for cats because they are always so wild. Happy stitching.
Hello...I stumbled on to a flosstube about a year ago and it really re-ignited my curiosity for cross stitch. There are so many amazing patterns and flosses beyond what you can find at a big box store! I was curious about your channel because of the name as I grew up in the Seattle area. I am about to be retired and I live in Arizona now. I also knit, quilt and sew too. I have a few WIPs and look forward to regular stitching time...I love your videos and your energy...thanks for your channel!
I really wish big box stores had all the amazing selection that is out there these days. It’s such a bummer because it’s a missed opportunity to get more youth into the hobby too. I love that it’s having this resurgence though it seems. AZ is beautiful! Hope you’re enjoying all the sunshine you missed while growing up out here LOL. Happy stitching and thank you for sharing a bit of your life and time with me.
Loved your new update video. I'm in Spokane, work in a greenhouse, and have been stitching for 40+ years. Threadneedle Street is also my LNS...4 1/2hours away 😂..but Denise is fabulous!!
OMG what a drive lol! Spokane is quite the ways away. Denise totally makes it worth it.
Yes she does! Not sure how she packs so much in such a small space!
My first time here, I’ll definitely be coming back. I love all your projects and the fabric you’ve chosen for them. I am a quilt and crossstitch designer from Nova Scotia. And I also have a flosstube. I’d love for you to come over and say hi.
Omg I will definitely check ya out! Thank you for the support 🥰🥰💞
I’m 23 and I just moved to Lexington, KY after traveling full time for the last year and a half for work and leisure. I’m starting a new job in a couple of weeks, live to do crafts, read, and travel, and I just adopted my first kitten yesterday! Love watching your videos 🫶🏻
Omg I love finding people close to my age that stitch. I watch your channel actually lol. Also yay to the new kitty cat! 🐈 💗
I think you're right about talking about your buying experiences; it's not bashing anyone or being negative. In the cross stitch world we've let a LOT of shops and a LOT of designers get away with terrible practices because everyone is "too nice" to say anything...
You’re so SO right. I hate to be the one to say something but some of these shops. 😬😬. Not to mention how easy it is to pray on a community like the cross stitching one. A lot of introverts who would never speak out etc. it’s honestly upsetting to me and I want to be more open about my experiences. 💯💖
When I found my cat in my housing complex he was walking down the sidewalk meowing. I knelt down to pet him and he jumped on my shoulders!!🐈 He said, "You're mine!!" I named him Pumpkin and he is the greatest ginger cat. He has the run of the complex and I've had him for over 11 years. My baby....😘😻💯
Omg!!! Soooo sweet. I love hearing peoples cat stories. I feel like people just find cats in the most random places.
Oh my, so that was magical seeing you knit without looking! As a non-knitter (Ok, I can do scarves and washcloths) that was amazing! Your knit pieces are gorgeous.
Thank you! 🥹💗💗
I'm a disabled widow. There aren't too many crafts that I don't or haven't done. Been stitching on & off for over 52 yrs. I've recently started Stitching again for therapy. I just lost my dad Monday evening, so I'm busy Stitching on HAEDs, CrossStitch kits & Blackwork Embroidery.
I am so so sorry for your loss. I hope flosstube and cross stitching bring you some peace and joy. I cannot imagine 🙏🏻. Here for you friend. Wishing you the best and happy stitching. 💖
@@TheSeattleStitcher Thank you. I've found that stitching complex Blackwork designs makes me focus elsewhere & HAEDs, so I don't overthink things. I was caring for my dad with hospice's 4 hrs a week help, in his home when he passed.
You know I love your videos girl! I live in Ohio and I taught special education for 15 years. I am now a special education supervisor but still a teacher at ❤! Happy stitching!
What an amazing job thank you for all you’ve done for your community! Happy stitching, friend.
I always enjoy your videos. You do beautiful work. I'm retired and live in Kirkland and have been stitching for years. - I would love to meet you someday - maybe at our one and only LNS in Issaquah:).
We have to get together some time! Maybe after stitch con. 🤩🫶🏻
I’m a retired/disabled nurse anesthetist. (A nurse that gives anesthesia). I did several cross stitch projects years ago. Had no idea what I was doing back then but really liked it. Just started cross stitching again and love it. I love, love, love your Sillowitch Quaker. I live at the New Jersey shore and can’t wait for the summer weather. Must admit my biggest passion is reading. I noticed all the history books on ur book shelf. Reading non fiction history is my 2nd passion. Love ur flosstube. Judy
What a cool job! Hope you’re enjoying your retirement. I love seeing all these people getting back into stitching. I love non fiction! Tudor history in particular is my absolute favorite subject. So fascinating!
LOL sweaty hands while at the cross stitch store 😂😂😂 I love your personality and everything you make ❤
LOL I mean tell me I’m wrong. 😂😂💓 it adds to the experience.
Keepsakes is the name of the store. Cincinnati is known for Skyline Chili and serving spaghetti noodles in it. I miss the Sheetz coffee, best gas station coffee I ever had, lol.
Thank you! I couldn’t remember the name for the life of me. I can’t wait to try some food while I’m in the area. Hoping there are a couple good coffee joints lol.
I just found your channel and have to say how much I love everything you are working on! I also love everything Halloween all year round and so I really enjoyed your needleminders and project bag. I am originally from the southwest but lived in the inland northwest for a while, but winters got the best of me and I moved back to Arizona a few years ago. Lucky for me, my parents moved to Oregon so I’m still able to visit and enjoy the northwest several times a year. Looking forward to watching some of your past videos as well!
Thank you so much for watching! AZ is beautiful I love it in the fall. Perfect temps for a WA native lol. Halloween is LIFE in this house.
I worked with 20-30s women all my working life. I miss keeping up with all the trends - new kid things- tech- style- makeup - relationship/dating - Books movies. I retired as a labor/delivery nurse 5 years ago. I really enjoy watching you as I get my dose of energy, youthful enthusiasm - and you are just a sweet spirit.
Thank you so much 🥹💓. You made my day with this comment. What an amazing job to have. You’re wonderful!
After a nearly20 year break in cross stitching, 1 of my craft friends got me hooked again. She also introduced me the the world of flosstube. I’m originally from Seattle so your channel name jumped out at me & I’ve watched you ever since.
I currently live in the Chicago suburbs. I’ve got 2 adult kids (my youngest just graduated from college) and my hubby & I have been married for 28 years. Other than cross stitch, I’m an avid reader and papercrafter, and I dabble a bit in gardening. I’m also a school nurse-- I love my job, but it does cut into my crafting time. Almost summer break for me!
Oooo enjoy your summer break! Congratulations to the kiddo for graduating, what an accomplishment. You must be so proud! 💓💗 Happy stitching.
I’m knitting a tee right now too! Although I’m using the Sub Pop Tee pattern from ravelry!
I love the look of knit tees. I can’t wait to get this one done. I’ve been holding back working on it because I want to knit in on it at stitch con lol.
I am a retired English teacher love to crossstitch and Quilt have had issues with my shoulder. I have a bad infection and I’m in the hospital watching you you are brightening my day with your great stitching
Omg I hope you get better soon! Wishing you the best, friend. 💓
I've been stitching since 94. Cross stitch is my #1 hobby, but I make clay miniature charms for crochet and knitting (even though I can do neither) haha
Love your vids!🖤
No way! That’s so cool. Do you sell them? 😍😍
@@TheSeattleStitcher haha yes! It's my full-time job😄

Great video! I’ll love watching your progress on the Greenhouse SAL. I didn’t start that one because I’m still working on Haunted Library from last year (and I’m so far behind!) Fact about me: I’m a hospital attorney (best job ever) and I cross stitch, needlepoint and crochet and I learned all 3 during the pandemic!
Thank you! I loved that haunted library and had to hop on for this one. Wow you did a lot during the pandemic LOL! That’s amazing.
I live in a suburb of Phoenix AZ. I’ve been knitting for almost 15 years and taught myself to cross stitch in 2020 like many others. I work full time and am a mother of 2 girls and pregnant with baby number 3. I also have a floss tube but am currently on a hiatus till baby comes.
Oh my goodness congratulations! Hope you have a safe and healthy delivery. 💖💖
@@TheSeattleStitcher thank you 😊
I’m in my late 30’s and I discovered cross stitching last spring and did not actually start stitching during holidays and since March so I love it it’s stress reliving for me. I’m deaf and mom to two teen girls and one is about to become tween in fall for 6th grader, 3 cats and two dogs. I love your videos it’s all about Halloween and fun/quirky patterns for everyday patterns to enjoy I love it!
Wow talk about a full house! Lol got your hands full for sure. I love finding all my fellow Halloween obsessed ladies 🎃👻🎃. I happen to know we are the best people. Take me word for it. LOL 😂😂😂
I'm from a small town in NSW Australia. I used to stitch as a child, picked it up for 6mths in my 20s. Then a few months ago became a little obsessed with flosstube and have gone insane with my new starts 😅. I started sewing (machine and hand) about 18mths ago.. I read alot of horrible things in my job so stitching is a way of clearing the mind.. 😜
What an amazing way to clear your mind. I love that! I am so glad I found flosstube. It’s just the best place on the internet I swear. The nicest people.
Your fabrics and color choices are really interesting and unique. Next, I will go back to see where you purchase these mottled fabrics and your choice dmc colors on the muted piece are fabulous. As a Marriage and Family therapist, I don't have as much time as many to cross stitch, but if I were retired, I could see myself doing little else. I just returned from Ca. where I was babysitting for my baby grands and had so little time to stitch, I wonder how you have some much time? I will have to listen more to hear more about your life..Meanwhile, thank you for sharing your talents..
Thank you so much! I honestly feel like I don’t get enough time haha. I always compare myself to others and hate how little I get done or finished. Comparison is the thief of joy though, right. So I try to embrace my no finishes and enjoy the time I do have to stitch. Balancing it all is not easy but you make time for what you love. And we all deserve a hobby to enjoy 🥰. Your job sounds amazing. Draining but rewarding. Thank you for spending some of your precious time with me 🫶🏻💓💓💓
That Rose Quaker is going in my stitching queue immediately. It's so beautiful! I'm a mom of a toddler girl and do most of my stitching (and flosstube watching) after she goes to bed at night. I'm also a knitter, but knitting has taken a bit of a back seat to cross stitch over the last year.
Okay we sound like we have a lot in common lol. I also put knitting in the backseat! Cross stitch has just taken over. I still knit but not as much.
@@TheSeattleStitcher I keep telling myself I need to just cast on a pair of socks for some good, mindless knitting when I don't have the time or mental energy to work on something more complicated like cross stitch 🤷♀
Im an original quilter but found it was difficult to take on holidays or do at night in front of the TV so hence taking up cross stitch. Im still stitching on 14CT Aida but am hoping to try some other fabric soon. I’d really like to hear about your fabric buying experience it would really help Im sure 😊
I’ve bought the bags you recommend from Amazon and they are great ! Thankyou.
That’s so true. Stitching is a great travel hobby. I definitely want to include my experiences with different shops going forward. I wish I knew more about some shops when I first got into stitching. Especially the unreliable ones. So glad you like the bags! I love them too.
YOUR GLASSES! Can you link them? I love them! The color is perfect!!
Your stitching is always beautiful and I love your book recommendations.
I started embroidery at 7, knitting at 9. Crochet at 11, cross stitch at 20, quilting at 31, soaping at 32, stained and leaded glass about the same time. I think that's about it. I do mostly cross stitch and quilting but more as time permits. I never learned to read knitting and crochet patterns but can do the stitches. I work full time and we have a new grand baby. There is never enough time.
The link is in my description box plus a discount code! 💖💖 enjoy 🥰
So true about time, it really feels like there is never enough to get all we want to get done, down. Lol! Multi-crafty people can relate.
I have Vanity Sampler started in the called for colors but I love your conversion ❤ All your projects are great!
It’s such a pretty one! Thank you 💓 happy stitching, friend.
Great flosstube. Also, I know you probably don't care but you look great today:)
Thank you so much! 💗🥹🥰
Thinking about using your cat modification to replace the cat in ode to autumn ❤
I’m in my late 30’s (for a couple more months 😢) and have intermittently cross stitched for maybe 10 years but never with much dedication. I spent years working away on a massive piece that I abandoned ship on lol. I’m basically a newbie stitcher knowledge wise. I knit, spin and sew although my sewing skills are lacking. I manage a small law office in Ontario. No children for us unfortunately but we have 2 cats and a dog. Halloween and All Saints’ Day are my favourite. I like to over share and drink coffee 😂
Omg you sound busy!! A whole law office. You’re amazing. Who needs kids when you have a home full of fur babies. Love it lol. Halloween is just the absolute best. Thank you for sharing some of your life and time with me! I so appreciate you.
@@TheSeattleStitcher it’s a small office 🤣 we both wanted kids but it didn’t work out for us. I just found your channel a few days ago and really love watching
@@OneCatCrafting I hope your fur babies fill your both your hearts! 💖💖
Hello! Finally catching up with my regulars! I love your needleminder. Did you know that the geologic term for Agate is chalcedony (pronounced KAL-SAID-EH-NEE)? Just a random fact for your day.
I agree 1000% on Nesta, she was not my favorite at all. I did just read a book that came out recently that many have compared to ACOTAR. It literally blew my mind! So good! It's called The Fourth Wing by Rebecca Yarros and I will be painfully waiting for the sequel to come out in November!
Have a great week!
Ooo random facts are my fav. 😆💗
Hi, Megan! I don’t know what happened, but I had commented twice, then when I didn’t hear from you, I checked and realized they never went through! 😮😅Knowing me, it’s probably something I did wrong😂, so I will try again!
Hi, Megan! I’m so glad to see you back again! I’m glad you took a break for Mother’s Day. When you said that Amira was starting school soon, I was so amazed, even though you’d already said she just turned five. Time goes too quickly! First of all, I love the conversion that Cam did on the Vanity Sampler, it is gorgeous! All your projects are so pretty. As for your sweet “bandana”, I think you should call it a neckerchief! Don’t you think that sounds much more sophisticated?! 😂 Anyway, maybe the third time’s the charm…I hope! I’m so happy you get to attend StitchCon with friends… I know y’all will have a blast and laugh a lot! Till next time, happy stitching, and lots of love! 🩷
Meline
Omg no way! It might have been me. I was adding links and when I go in to edit I think that sometimes it messes with comments coming through.
I was wondering where ya were 😂💓🫶🏻. Time really does fly by. I can’t believe it 🥲💗. She is super excited about school though. Cams conversion is amazing! Happy stitching to you! I cannot wait for stitch con. I am so excited.
Totally calling it a neckerchief from here out. LOL!
Lots of love from me to you, Meline! Hope you’re well.

I love all of your colorful fabris choices. I am a chef in Washington, I'm a seattle girl like you and I and completely obsessed with my dog will a new puppy coming next month
OMG a local person to me! Also a chef, that sounds like so much fun. What kind of dogs do you have? 🥹💓
@The Seattle Stitcher I have a 4 year old bully boy names kryptonite and in June I will be getting a golden retriever boy that we will be naming camander riker.
@@candacereastman omg that’s SO cute!!
I am so excited for you and your upcoming retreat. You will love it. My recent FlossTube recounts the story that I must start over on Away We Ride. So I will be with you in spirit. Are you using Endora by Needle and Flax. That’s my fabric and I love it. Take care.
Yes! Endora is the fabric. Unfortunately I had a really bad order experience and customer service was awful to so I won’t be shopping with them anymore but I will say it’s such pretty fabric. Brijin is starting it too! Can’t wait.
@@TheSeattleStitcher ❤️❤️
I have the same Stitch-Con shopping list! We HAVE to get it while we're there, right!?!?
Exactly!! Lol I need the sweaty palm experience 🤣💀
Thank you for commenting on the shops you do and don't use. I don't have a local lns so I do most of my cross stitch shopping inline or at the big box stores. I understand not wanting to trash someone's business but you can be politely honest about your experiences. It does irritate me when someone has a bad experience with a shop but won't say the shop name. I would like to know going in what experience I might have with the shop. I also try to only buy ready to ship dyed pieces.
That’s definitely something I agree with. I wish I knew more when I first started buying about some companies reputations. I’ll definitely be more honest going forward and mention names of companies and my experiences. I also only purchase ready to ship these days!
I am up late battling a cold lol. I am new to stitching just trying to teach myself, I live in Minnesota, mom of two, a 21 son who is autistic and deaf, now lives in group home and an 18 daughter who is graduating and will be going to college in fall. I have all my degrees in education but don’t teach and work in healthcare. I also have two dogs, a cat, Guinea pig, three fish and have been married for 23 yrs lol…I honestly feel like I hanging with a friend when I watch you
Editing to add bandana sounds like an banana ate a band lol anyway love the pink bandanna and your orange fabric is amazing. Stitch con sounds amazing.
Also adding I love pure and simples knitted t shirt. Love that yarn
Okay last thing and people always say to me god doesn’t give you more than your plate can handle and I would say my plate is full to which my mom would say get a bigger plate or head to the buffet and keep refilling
I’m enjoying your Flosstube content. You bring a fresh vibe to the cross stitching world. Would you mind sharing the Fabric dyer/shop of the Burnt Sienna Fabric please. It’s absolutely stunning and a perfect choice for the pattern you chose. I just joined the Carolyn Manning May SAL. Looking forward to seeing more of your creative shows. 😎🤘🏼
Thank you so much for sharing a bit of your life with me! 💓 you sound like you’ve had your hands full for quite some time lol! Also I totally agree about bandana. Who is making up these words okay 😂. I can’t wait to see how the knit tee turns out. Maybe a bit of trial and error but I’m okay with that.
Guess I need to go to buffet. LOL. 💓

Hi, I enjoy your youth! I’m a retired speech pathologist. Quilting, embroidery and needlepoint were my go to hobbies- I had cross stitched in my 20’s and now I’m a born again cross stitcher🤗. Happy stitching!
Wow your job sounds like it was so interesting! Thank you for sharing a little bit of you with me. 💗☺️ happy stitching, my friend.
