Your skills with the chainsaw and axe are excellent. It's always nice to see a skilled craftsman at work. I had my doubts about making a grill from a log but lining it with clay and stone make it work well.

Make a thicker layer of clay on the bottom, be sure!
In 100 years when the wood for the grill is gone, there will be a ceramic bowl. :) That clay is very useful. It can be fired in your woodstove. Which you already know im sure. Best wishes!
