I feel like God was using this particular episode to talk directly to me. Alcohol has always been a weakness for me. Jase's point about self control really hit home for me.
Alcohol can be a very poor choice for all mankind. I know I lived it. Threw God's grace it no longer controls me. I pray you find a way to turn from it. Not only will you live healthier, but more Godley. Ill pray for you my brother. May God bless you 🙏.
I lived in So Cal for several years during the 90's. Lived in the High Desert, where people were & still are mostly Conservative & fiercely in favor of freedom. Don't worry, we see that California election map every election. Mostly red with those big deep blue cities. We know what's going on. Same thing going on in most states. Progressives have never been the real majority of the Country.
Please don’t judge California by southern California either. I happen to find myself currently living in Riverside County and I am a born-again follower of Lord Jesus Christ and trust in his blood for my salvation. I know I’m not the only one even though most people in this whole area seem to be completely out of control and very lost.

I have a friend who ruined his life with alcohol. He almost died but God was gracious and kept him around. He is now living in a recovery house and doing splendidly. Seeing him and hearing others' stories makes me never want to touch the stuff. I also believe the Bible does not condone alcohol consumption but the choice to partake or not is between you and God.

Donkeys are not easily startled (unlike horses) and have a keen sense of curiosity. Donkeys have a reputation for stubbornness but this is due to their highly developed sense of self preservation. It is difficult to force or frighten a donkey into doing something it sees as contrary to its own best interest or safety.
I would love to just come down there and help you guys do a years worth of work! I love god, love the outdoors and up here in Harlan Ky we don’t really have ducks to hunt. But I think it would be awesome to participate and see the feast when the water starts to fall.
Why is cannabis any different than alcohol? Everything has been made for us? I’m a faithful listener, I’ve watched y’all since episode 1, I’ve noticed y’all say negative things about cannabis, I just wanted your honest thoughts on that. I visited with an almish family last year and I questioned him about it after he asked if our denomination allowed drinking. His thoughts were everything God made is fine within moderation, he said that goes with Pepsi or food or alcohol, anything. There are so many positive things the cannabis plant can do, I agree it should definitely be out of hands of anyone under 21 due to brain development but I don’t see why it’s any different than alcohol. Thanks for all y’all do, I do heating and air and I talk to customers about the podcast every day it seems like. I always fall right in line y’all’s views on things. They lay out their opinions on it and I believe they bring up pot in there too saying they feel similar.... I can't remember how they exactly word everything so id go give it a listen. Small group meeting on July 21 is likely to be interesting, as we are supposed to do Bible study on Romans 10 and 11, in a ninety minute meeting! I've spent 30 hours or more just translating the Greek to English, and I'd imagine we could spend the entire time discussing why "disobedience" could as easily have been translated as "disbelief" in the passage, possibly without ever coming to consensus on the matter. Don't even get me started on the topic of having a helpful discussion on the verb participles, just in this passage, and their operation in the context. Thanks for insight on this Scripture and its application, gentlemen.
We've been thinking about moving down to either Louisiana, Mississippi or Alabama, but we don't know where would be a safe place to miss flooding and as much of hurricanes as possible? @Phil Robertson, would you know if these places in those areas exist?

Arrived in spring of 1968 at age of 6 and left fall 1972. Interesting time. After moving away and constantly hearing people bad mouth it and discount it, I learned what don't judge a book by it's cover meant. I saw alot of bad people there but more good. My father saw more bad. I had never heard of California. He came with a preconceived idea of California and looked for bad. Thank you for what y'all do.

Self control is more than just over indulgence… self control can also be in reference to anger and a person’s response to negative situations. Anger, hatred, animosity, temperament. You don’t inherit a temper, you choose self control. You choose to think and then speak. You can have a righteous anger, and not allow anger to grow into hatred. But most people need to practice self control so they wont get OFFENDED. Many people walk in offense bc they do not practice that part of the fruit of the spirit. (Self control) How many people actually grieve the holy spirit bc they lack self control We stop the flow and inspiration of the Spirit bc of animosity and offense(lack of self control) with self control all other fruits of the spirit can flow FULLY in us.

So this a legitimate question: At what point is a person drunk? Is it falling down, being stupid, or is it a little buzzed? At what point can you explicitly say a person is drunk? Ephesians 5 15-18 says 15 Be very careful, then, how you live-not as unwise but as wise, 16 making the most of every opportunity, because the days are evil. 17 Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the Lord’s will is. 18 Do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, Galatians 5 19-21 says 19 The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God. Before I submitted my life to Christ, I drank all the time, so I know what that feels like. I haven't drank any alcohol since 2002, and I don't miss it at all. With all of the types of beverages available to us know (biblical times had water and wine basically), is there really a need for the Christian to drink?
The good ones in California are usually in the valleys not the coast. Most folks live on the coast. We give people a lot of money not to do anything here in California. Those folks usually vote for the ones that give them stuff. Those would be the Democrats.
