his current sum of best times under 1:07, and it's not like this run was perfect either, so i don't see why it wouldn't be possible. obviously he won't gold in every level during a wr, but you're still looking at minutes of possible time save. and that's assuming nobody finds any more optimizations or tricks ever again.

I never did pass library on legendary, with original xbox. This guy does it under 10 minutes. Couldnt get outside of that first room in gravemind too. Does this shortcuts work on original xbox versions or do i need a PC to try this? That was awesome play Garish!
Some of these shortcuts require anniversary because the graphics change allowing certain glitches to be utilized. So no some will not work on OG

Wait, the Two Betrayals banshee trick after the first generator, WTF??? When was that discovered? It wasn't in the 1:09:55 run. Sorry if I'm not up to date on this stuff, I'm fairly new to speedrunning.
Edit: Also on The Maw. Like most of the level is skipped, when did that become a thing?
Edit 2: It looks like these new ones were Anniversary MCC on PC. Did that introduce new skips?
These tricks were already known on MCC, it's just that they were only possible on new graphics. (On old the textures aren't rendered in.)
@@ryanwilliams5093 Yeah, I started picking up on this when I tried the cafeteria skip on The Maw. I noticed that switching to the new graphics showed a bunch of stuff that the old didn't.
Previous runs were not on mcc correct? I didn't realize you were doing runs on mcc. I first noticed not from the loading screens but from the way the plasma pistol makes the overcharge sound when rapid firing.. super annoying.
Mcc seems like a bit of a different run than the original CE, but I'm just a pleb, so...
This is his 2nd MCC run. The MCC has a different strategy, especially in Two Betrayals, and it's way waster than original port. So I'm guessing OG port for speedrunning will be dead.

These runs are awesome. You'll be under an hour in no time
No one's going under an hour unless a new skip is found. The combined Individual Level records are 59:32. So he would need to get nearly world record on every single level to do it. And that's just not happening. Especially when most IL WR's are from people grinding the same level over and over until the perfect RNG comes up. You won't get that for every level in a full game run, like ever.

Just a quick question because it's always confused me: How is timesave calculated and what does it mean in the context of a run/split?
If they did bad on a level last PB and wasted 10 seconds, then that means for their next record or PB they have 10 seconds in that exact spot for timesave.
It's just a way of saying "last time I sucked here, so I have some leeway"

sillykatz11231 Timesave is calculated by taking that level’s time from their Full-Game PB and subtracting their best-ever time on that Individual Level (which may or may not have been set in the PB run itself).

Mod it as in adding a banshee to that level? Pretty easy to do for a modder.
Hijacking/glitching the two banshees that appear at the beginning? Highly doubt it. The banshee glitch in AitCR is really situational, and the only one found (yet). I highly doubt you can replicate that in another level.
@@juanmanuelcorrea7673 sometimes the banshee pilot just dies of a heart attack or crashes into the cliff and dies. So no, there probably is a specific and consistent way to get the pilot out if someone wanted to take the time to find it. The problem is there is no option to enter the banshee once it is on the ground and vacant.

Not shooting the gunner in halo can prevent the first dialogue cue from appearing when you kill the marines to save time. The level gets softlocked. I was wondering why cortana wasn't giving me an audio cue until I killed the gunner before reaching there.
