- Pretty nice speedrun, but I threw time away.
I didn't have work for this week and nothing else to do so I decided to put in a couple practice hours. I probably wouldn't have been able to do this without the extra preparation.

I agree! I still tend to play with original graphics and soundtrack on MCC. Obviously the new graphics are "better" but they don't nail the artstyle and atmosphere as well.
@@coyrex1250 I hate the remastered graphics so much. It's a Frankenstein's monster of an eyesore for most of the levels. Part of me wishes they'd remaster the remaster and make it look as good as H2 Anniversary, though that'll def never happen.

It’s crazy this man went from a wr of 1:29:25 in 2015 all the way down to a 1:05:41 in 2021 with nobody beating him in that period. Garish is the GOAT for CE legendary at this point
Sorry to break it to you homie but he hasn’t held the WR in a while lol. Another runner named Cambid has the legendary WR at 1:04:25 and he set it 7 months ago. Garish has a lot of work to do if he wants to regain the crown back which sadly ion think he will
Garish will never have the record again unless he really wants it. He doesn’t like doing carrier bump and outside of completely new strats, its a must to get the WR.

I'm able to play inverted and normal, I get used to inverted and normal pretty quick. I guess it helps some flying controls are like that in some games.
Also the whole Inverted controls thing came from Airplanes, pushing forward on the stick causes the plane to go down, and pull it back would make it go up. It's the reason why a lot of games have a flight inversion option, some people it feel right that way. So it was really from aviation that we got that option in games.
not from airplanes, from physics. if you push forward on a ball, it will roll forward. if you pull backward, it rolls backward. it's a "setting" that predates digital input. it would be more intuitive than forward = up and backward = down. edit: i'd like to add that , a ball analogy makes sense when talking about a 3d space which is why i mentioned it.
@@jackmiller8851 Works with ball, and it's not limited to airplanes but also to most joystick operated machines in construction and whatever. However, computer screen is typically used as a "table", you control cursor with a mouse or joystick. In this case it makes no sense that moving forward the mouse would make cursor go down. This is why some people prefer one over the other, neither is superior, but in FPS gaming preferences are based on what one is used to do. Other games than FPS and sims that have cursor, may have inverted controls option, but I've never seen anyone using such options there.

Ever since years ago on NES, the top gun game, I've played inverted on all FPS games. Just, like you say, feels natural.
I play inverted and it's natural for me, but boy do i cope crud for it. Thanks Garish for the acknowledgement that we are all different.

Amazing run for a new best run time. I’m an airline pilot and when flying, we push the stick to go down. However, when I’m gaming I never use inverted for any games that’s not plane related.

Holy shit hes done it again...thats like 50 improvements now, im sad that somoene ifnally beat the 1:04 mark but i think sub 1:00 is possible. If you added all the best individual per level times its less than 58 mins now
The sum of individual level records dont count cutscenes that would be timed on fullgame runs, like the starting section on sc or the one on truth and rec, so in reality if you got all those times into a single speedrun it wouldnt break the 1 hour barrier
We are still very very far away from seeing a sub 1 hour run been done
If you go to the halo runs channel they got a segmented 46.07 so sub 1 hour is definitely possible

Whoever figured out that you can clip out of the map by switching between original and remastered graphics needs mental help
the clipping isn't done by switching graphics, they switch graphics because it's easier to see the levels geometry when in remastered graphics out of bounds

I did the switch to inverted when I was like 12/13 and played like that until I became an adult. For some reason I switched back and now I play default.

What's the glitch that changes the rifle texture at 18:02 ?
He blows up the parked wraith while crouch-walking into it to clip inside of it and teleports out of bounds from there. The texture change is him switching the graphics over to anniversary while he does it because anniversary graphics allow him to navigate out of bounds. OG graphics were programmed in a way that makes it impossible to navigate by sight when you are out of bounds.

Inverted controls aren't that difficult on M&K if you treat the mouse like you're adjusting a camera in real life but on controller pad it's awkward as hell for a long time.
I am hoping garish will include commentary in one of his videos of how he does the glitches and why he does what he does. I can seem to find videos/tutorials of his strats 🙏 especially the out of bound strats. I really want to know how to do the shield glitch on PoA

I've not played the game in a very long while but... something's odd. I noticed the frag grenade now emits light while in the air, light that reflects on walls. Was it always like this or did they work on the lighting ?
I recently had to download a 40 GB update to mcc so who knows. I did notice that h2a had massive frame rate reduction on console, like down to 20 or 10 or somewhere in between
