    Hello friend, on Framer, you need to add the middle breakpoint (tablet), that will help the transition from desktop to mobile behave more fluid ⚡

    I now work directly in Framer. Haven’t touched Figma in almost a year. But to be fair I come from the Dreamweaver, Fireworks + Flash era so I have the experience. That said this is a great and fair comparison.

    • @sketchymedia
      @sketchymedia  Před měsícem +2

      I found myself doing that in webflow for a lot of projects. Anything that’s not complex I’d probably do the exact same thing in framer

    Great video Matt! What grid settings do you use in Figma when working with the Relume library?

    • @sketchymedia

      Thanks Rachael. Appriciate the comment.
      My go to is a 12 col grid, set to stretch usually with a margin of 56 and gutter of 20 on a 1440px wide frame which is usually the width of the container if I’m building the site

    Can relume work with Bubble? first export to Figma then bubble?

    • @sketchymedia
      @sketchymedia  Před 2 měsíci

      I have minimal experience with bubble to be honest so im not sure. gut tells me no, as relume is a Figma library and the plugins ive been exposed to are specific Figma plugins to the destination web builders. so I'd recommend looking for a "Figma to bubble" type plugin

    Hello Math, I have a question about which platform is better for my portfolio. I already have three UX cases of courses I finished, and I'm familiar with Figma, do you think for this type of project, Framer would be better? I don't have experience with both, but I don't see a problem in trying it out. (A big hug from Brazil!!)

    I'm a newb to Webflow having built sites in wix and squarespace. I'm confused: for Figma, do you need to learn 2 tools, Framer and Figma? The curve is steeper for Webflow but if it's one pro-ish tool to learn then I'll put in the time to learn that?

    Hi Matt, this is perfect and you made my choices easier. One more thing, are all your website for your client based on Webflow if it's complex and Framer less complex? Do you code at all or you relying of those two platform which include Relume. Hope you can direct me here as I am planning to offer a website services and rather not use too much coding, you know what I mean.

    • @sketchymedia
      @sketchymedia  Před 18 dny

      Everything in webflow to be honest, but that’s mainly todo with how familiar I am with it. For simple projects framer is a great option as I outlined. Once you build the skills in webflow there’s little use in using a different tool unless pricing etc comes into play. I end up doing quite a bit of complex stuff in webflow which is why I would choose it

      @sketchymedia  Před 25 dny

      Appriciate the comment. There will certainly be an element of bias, beacuse overall I use webflow on some pretty complex projects which I couldn’t use framer for. That being said and as I tried to say at the end in the summary - for the portfolio/personal site, framer is as good of a choice, unless you want some more advanced features or you’re already experienced in webflow. I’ve recommended framer quite a lot.

    I will stick to webflow. I used also framer and its better design-wise and speed BUT, in webflow i can export the code html,css and JS, in framer not. If framer adds the option that lets you export the code for hosting it outside awesome then. My situation is that i always export the code and further edit in vs code.

      Exactly, that makes sense, although I’m sure framer will offer this. I have done similar with webflow projects but their CMS and advanced functionality is a delight despite the pricing being very annoying and a big challenge to deal with

      I think it depends on what you're trying to achieve. A custom portfolio like he did, framer is better. An ecommerce site which will be heavily theme influenced would be wix. Those are just examples

    Webflow is hiring cheap youtubers to make ads that try to look like honest comparisons to slander Framer because they are scared of it. This is the third video i have seen by a channel that is sponsored by Webflow (its in the description) but pretends to compare it to competitors fairly. Shameful. If you’re a real one don’t delete this comment.

      Interesting take, you must know something I don’t.
      Yea I have a link, and I’ll get a commission if people sign up via my link. They’ve had no influence in what my video says, and I am genuinely very impressed with framer. I don’t believe I slander framer at all.
      I’ve used webflow for a long time now and long story short it’s far more capable and advanced for the type of projects I get involved in.
      My video aimed to simply show that. And as I said, i do recommend framer in certain situations for some people. I won’t be using it for My personal websites or projects that require more sophisticated functionality, but I am already recommending people to use framer for other projects, especially if they have no webflow experience.

    • @michaelparkerdesign

      Im not paid, and ive been a framer fanboy since coffee script on framer classic. I preached the framer gospel at every org since then, but not this year. I have realized that it cant compete with webflow yet. Its nice since im a designer its easy to build and move fast in framer, but id argue its just as easy in webflow if not easier because of thins like relume. Also the webflow performance is far greater than framer. Dont get me wrong i still use framer but Ive been pushing my company to move to webflow instead of move to framer for MANY reasons at scale as well. Framer is great for a solo designer or small team banging out websites and dont wanna pay devs etc, to keep a lean team and have a designer workflow from beginning to end, thats the best utility from framer. and its only most appealing to designers. go figure its 90% of designers and design twitter still over hyping framer.
