  • This fitted better than I expected, just needed a little bit of heat to get it to sit flush. Love the design though! I'm trying to upgrade my camera soon! If anyone has recommendations let me know.

    Decent job! Just got one for mine, shocking how it doesn’t fit perfectly out the box considering the price! Think im going to bond mine on especially round the bends OR heatgun it so its flush before using the tape!

      I agree completely. They need to hire a new mold guy or somehow make a better way of producing these in general. The design and actual quality of the product is nice! It's a shame about fitment

    Looks good installed but mark my words it will pop up at edges in no time. I have one installed.!!!! Removed it and put 3m VMB tape to fix it. Keep an eye on it..soon or within a couple of month's you will see light thru where it does not fit correctly......you may be lucky but it's a crap fit really..Maxton could have done a better job with it but it looks great..
    Also I fitted mime in slightly (not in line with the end /back of the spoiler) and it fits better with the ends of the lip meeting the contour of the side of the spoiler better.
    So if you ever have to remove because it becomes unstuck keep this in mind.
    Keep up the video's. Great content.. fiesta st rock's

      Thank you for taking the time to write this. I'll be sure to keep you all up to date if it does start to pop up. Love the design. Just wish they could mold better.

      If it comes loose does it leave marks on the spoiler? If so do they come off easily?

    • @CarRambles
      @CarRambles  Před 5 lety +2

      @@philmufc1 I have no idea so far, mine came up a little bit so may remove it and refit. If it does come off I'll let you know and reply here. I doubt it will mark and you can get sticky residue off with citrus wash

    Nice vid! How is it holding on? Confident it'll stay on proper with just the tape?

      Yeah not too bad. Will have to reset it one day as it's come up slightly but it's solid still.

    These maxton add ons are just about passable on black and grey cars. On any other colour car it literally looks like the car has been driven through halfords covered in superglue.

      Give it a try, if it starts to come up you can always just reinstall it :) not the end of the world it's only tape you need :)

    you need a real heat gun to pre fit it firstly. Slowly heat it, keep heat moving..it takes longer than you u think to get it heated thru without scorching it..the edges will lay and fit the curve with a little pushing. then you use a primer 44 pen on the spoiler after its been rubbed a few cycles with alcohol (90+% isopropyl) to cut any wax. strip one inch squares at the ends and in the middle of the lip, bending back the tape covering so its easy to pull once in place. fit it, stick it in those 3 spots. look good? tape it down with masking tape, pull the cover strips from the double-sided and press each area of the lip for about 30 straight seconds to activate the pressure sensitive adhesive properly. give it one last light heat to help it settle any remaining tension and it'll stay on for 10yrs. the way this video did it, that lip will lift-off in a few years or less, sorry bro. thx for the vid tho
