Subhanallah, I asked for sabr and it came in the form of discovering the story of Prophet Ayub (as) and it lead me to this lecture. Thank you for the details on his story, may Allah (swt) bless you and your family from all directions.

Don't ask for sabr in of itself, but rather after a calamity or if it should happen. Ask for Aafiya.
Asking for sabr means that you want something to happen to you, sou you may show sabr.
Aafiya gives good and prevents evil.

I always enjoyed YQ lectures but for sure being steadfast, patience , moral and ethics will never come easily you will have to go for decades for the sessions of tazkia a nafas from a learned sheikh. May be YQ and his kind are exception but exception is never a rule.
Why did prophet Auyb (as) take so long to make the dua? Aren’t we supposed to do dua right away when calamity hits us? Jazakallah
He was in luxury for so long and was shy to Ask Allah so he was patient for 18 years.
