cool tutorial! the only problem with this is that there is a noticeable loss of resolution at the end of the clip, making the subject look soft

what i like to do is import the video into after effects, and then, on the tracker window, select track motion. then press the scale and rotation tick boxes and place the two trackers on the subjects eyes and press stabilise motion, it keeps the subjects eyes perfectly centered and its very easy

The downside is the loss of resolution (unless your software has some kind of advanced upscaling functionality or you're filming at a higher resolution than you intend to export).

Its not an effect hes using a very wide fisheye lens probably 12mm or less

Love seeing people create clean effects in a really simple way, super smart. How did you get the grid lines? Is that a plugin or did you use a transparent layer and add it yourself?
It's just under 'view' in premiere and Ae. Click 'Show rulers'' and you can drag down or across from the X or Y rulers. From the top of my head

So the vertigo effect is done after the video has been shot in the editing process but the dolly zoom is done during the shoot?
Hate to be this guy, but the two terms are interchangeable. They're synonyms for each other, one named after the Hitchcock movie Vertigo where they employed this technique. But semantically there's no difference between them, this video is incorrect.
They’re interchangeable! Traditionally Dolly Zoom refers to the in camera technique and Vertigo refers to the post production style effect. At the end of the day both are super similar.
