Great video! I love learning about different tactics and combat techniques!
As an old school atmospheric current and last age dogfighter I am very happy that SC is getting atmospheric flight pretty well done.
Funny enough if you come from Elite Dangerous this is pre-engrained because on 99% of the ships yaw is so incredibly weak, even in space flight, that it's almost never used aside from aiming adjustments.
Damn !! you make it look so easy and smooth - thank you for your explanations
Beautiful flying my friend
That up and over was nuts
I found it that binding the switch between yaw controls was a good idea. As soon as I enter a thick atmosphere I switch it, and my ship will be flown like an airplane from there on out. Just gotta either buy pedals, or find a better way to bind my yaw, since in space I use roll on a hat switch (HOTAS) which turns into my rudder once I switch to atmospheric flight. And rudder use is a must there.
Thx for the videos ! Very good job !
Thank you. I gonna try learn some of those tricks.
how do you display your shields status on the top left and the target status on the top right?
How would this fight differ vs. a Sabre Raven? Ran up against one last night and couldn't get him.
Nice engagement man!
Very informative
Nice video, helpful!
I'M GIVIN' HER ALL SHE'S GOT, CAP'N!!
Are you playing with dual sticks, hotaa, or keyboard?
short and sweet. Pitch up guys, not yaw.
Hi, Can you tell us your loadout ?
To perform a corkscrew I have to use only strafe up or also the lateral ones?
you wanna use up strafe to push you from your strongest thrusters
Im trying to look as close as I can at that rate fight maneuver and I have a question. Why did you roll to the left and be forced to turn through 270° instead of rolling right to the direction the Sabre was headed and facing? Does it have to do with the fact he was pitching up and you were too close and would have overshot and been in a bad position?
I think it was to slow down the rate of turn and to burn some energy in order to stay in that spot. I've been trying to figure that out too, but seems to be the answer I can give after practicing this.
Because in atmosphere there is drag, and rolling left and turning through means the atmospheric drag reduces the acceleration, and thus he was able to linger just a bit longer on the shot to get the kill as opposed to maintaining velocity through sustained acceleration by utilizing the Arrow's aerodynamics to move with the gravitational downforce had he turned right (thus, maintaining his acceleration and making it slightly harder to stall the momentum of the ship to pull of the shot).
I aspire to be even a fraction smooth as this pilot is 😩
He has a discord with a pvp community which is so clean and supporting
@@michaeldovahkin4479 do you know how I could find this discord?
Nice tutorial. It's funny, I force people to fight in atmo all the time and they get literally offended 🤣. Just because they don't have a clue what they're doing I imagine.
Hmmm very interesting,
You didn't have to reverse on the poor guy like that😩
Bro, I don't know if you already do something like this, but you need to hold like, dogfighting schools in-game or via discord.
I saw a bounty for you in-game a few days ago, and I was like Avenger_One eh?....... yeah no. I choose life
