Doesn't matter if its a mechanic fixing your car, or the simple task of getting a hair cut, you are at the mercy to some extant of the other person. I have honored the request of many who a few years down the road contacted me with the concern of photos becoming public. I even removed their photos from my collection as to not by mistake post one somewhere. I guess your best bet is contact the photographer share your concerns, see what he thinks. Most photographers I know are willing to work with people which helps their reputation in this forum. The down side, as I started with from car repair to haircuts to photography most are honest, but sad to say some are not. This is a guess, but it sounds like your experience was was not resent, but more in the past, if months or even years have gone by and they haven't appeared in some forum, odds are it may have been more for his private collection, or just the photographers just working on his skill level, never meant for public viewing.
