- Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, the next part of Final Fantasy 7 Remake saga, is out on February 29th for PS5. The excitement is palpable as Cloud and friends venture outside Midgar. They'll meet new characters and party members, battle new enemies and explore gorgeous vistas.
However, Rebirth is also exciting for all the improvements and changes it offers over the first game. Instead of loading screens between different areas, there will be a seamless map to explore that's one-to-one with the original. New Summons and Materia await, and the side content is significantly larger, whether it's the new side quests or activities like Chocobo Racing.

Remake's smoothness runs better due to packed locations and generally the combat is sort of better. Eg- in remake, Tifa is able to automatically jump and be airborne to close distances with the enemy. In Rebirth, this is not so. You have to manually use certain skills with other party members to gain air.

THE DEVELOPER
I have a close friend who works at Square that told me the ending/twist to this game and a little bit on the overall finale planned for part 3. Spoilers ahead! Don't read if you don't want this ruined!
In the scene where Aerith normally gets killed by Jenova/Sephiroth, the big twist will be that multiversal Sephiroth or AC Sephiroth actually is the one who thwarts it and kills the part of Jenova before it happens. He understands that killing her is essentially the reason that he was defeated due to Aerith returning to the lifestream to bolster the effects of Holy, and countering meteor, it also gave Cloud his resolve in the end to beat him. He wants to avoid this and merge with himself at NC to be even more powerful and take over the planet. Aerith will ultimately sacrifice herself ( Thus satisfying both sides of fans that want her to die like in the OG game, but in a more dignified way for those who didn't like the first death), and that Zack will somehow come through to their world and help them stop the more powerful "Merged Sephiroth". They will finally defeat Sephiroth for good, and Zack will return to his world and find Aerith has awoken from her sleep with no recollection of the events in the alternate timeline, and they will end up together in his new "Good timeline". Advent children Cloud will also make an appearence at some point. I didn't get all the details here. Would explain why they re-released Advent children in theaters in preparation for all this.

I'll be honest it's pretty bad. It's quite blurry, and sometimes it goes below 60 fps, but hopefully, a patch will fix them.

Perfromance mode looks a lot like ps3 game. On Sony A84K 77” tv looks horrible. A way worse than REMAKE. I’m so disappointed 😢 Graphics mode looks only slightly better and it’s like slideshow in terms of framerate

Calling it a direct sequel is misleading. But it's Final fantasy so if course it's getting complicated af still a remake/reimagine with a plot twist not a direct sequel in a classical sense.

Tbh I find it pretty asinine that you have to pay to continue where you left off in Remake, especially when the original (PS1/3/PC) has all 3 discs for $15 and you don't need to pay an additional $15 to play the other discs.

Not only that but the draw distance may be the worst I have ever seen...I can see tress changing textures while u walk, flowers and grass render right in front of you
Feel like the character models looked better on remake. Something about the skin textures and the faces just look off.

nothing was ruined it is not mint to be the exact same game we got in 1997 it is more of a sequel. it has a lot of the same story beats and has expanded story.in my opinion the same game the way it was in 1997 would not be as fun as we already know what that game is like.

I'm gonna play on Dynamic Difficulty, I love that concept on FFVIII and Tactics.
It's always boring on RPG games when you get overleved / overgeared early in game and nothing else threats you... especially for someone like me who likes to clear Sidequests at same time than the Mainquests 😤
@@marceloxtree I think you're the one who don't understand RPGs here, RPGs are many things and to reduce a whole genre into "get to a god-like level and hit kill everything" it's just stupid ( I did read your comment before you delete and rewrite it, saying that I don't understand RPGs ).
The goal in an RPG for me is to have fun, is the genre I like most, is the genre I play most for over 30 years... I want to enjoy a good Story, Characters, Lore, World ( it's a ROLE PLAYING GAME after all ) with a fun gameplay, gears, builds and more.
If you find fun to hit kill everything ( cuz RPGs are nothing but that for you ) so great, have fun, it's your personal taste and point of view ( and I respect that ), because I don't find fun at all, it's just boring for me.
I don't want to Button Mash ( or spam "Attack Command" ) the whole game because my Character got too OP by Leveling while I was doing Sidequests alone, I don't want to hit kill anything in my way... I want to use different commands, spells, combos, builds and experience multiple strategies in a fight.
I want that a basic gameplay mechanic included in the very same game ( such as Skill Tree, Combos, Builds, Buffs, Debuffs, Elemental Attributes, Spells ) have some actual meaning to be there 🤷🏻♂️
People saying the graphics are fine are spewing a load of BS. Open world games from 5 years ago look and run better than this literal PS5 built game. Why are people making excuses? It's Square Enix. They are a wealthy gaming juggernaut, not an indie company. Just because they bow and speak Japanese doesnt make them immune to criticism, no matter how much they AYAYA your weeb tingles. They SCREWED UP. They are charging $70 for this game, not $40. If they can't create an open world experience that is smooth AND looks good, but the guys who made the Horizon series which is WAYYY bigger than this can, then it's just dev incompetence on Square's part. This game has been in development for something like 5 years. They had the perfect blueprint in Remake to build off of. They arent being held back by PS4 limitations. Stop coping, stop lying. Rebirth is a significant graphical disappointment.

This is a good game for people who want to sink several years waiting for it to be complete. For others they can look elsewhere instead.
Also this game isn't a recreation of the original game but a rework of it instead and this game also made this company don't have enough manpower to made other new games instead. Kingdom hearts,new final fantasy,front mission and parasite eve etc. All stuck in development hell and long development cycle because of ff7.

Reunion - Remake - Rebirth
The original FF7 was one game. It was too big to make nowadays. . So they split the one game into 3 parts. The first was called final fantasy 7 Remake. The second is Final fantasy 7 Rebirth. We don’t yet know what the 3rd part is called. There is no Reunion. Also people saying it’s a sequel to the original are talking rubbish. @@fndorigin9021

Blue Chocobo doesn't fly. It walks over rivers and shallow sea. Black Chocobo does cross mountains, but it also does everything blue does too. No Chocobo could fly in FF7. I'm 99.9% sure this is all correct for the original, but if they've changed things for the remake and what you've said is correct, then disregard what I've said and my apologies

I agree that it has too much Nomura shit (he is smoking dmt it seems every day) like Barret ressurection, stupid ghosts etc. But it doesn't change the fact that thei nailed IMHO (!) the combat system and on hard game gave me same thrill as Dark souls and it is the biggest thrill I ever had in gaming. I loved menus, customization, the fact that all weapons were usable and story when it was following original + ok, I liked train graveyard for horror elements and vibe. OG now plays liek shit, I mean battle system aged awfully and is boring as hell especially after Persona 5 or Yakuza Like a Dragon and other turn based modern games. I also love the music. I just do not concentrate on Nomura and his acid trips. @@true_gamer39
i think it will still sell well. I thought the combat was amazing one of the best parts of the game. the Materia system and how they use it makes for great replay value in my opinion.@@true_gamer39

The "Active combat" puts me off so tremendously.
Active combat was something you acquired over time through Materia combinations, so its very disappointing.
Looks great, just can't get excited about it.
