    Who generates the TraceId and how is assigned? If your service is instrumented with Prometheus and requests are raw socket requests, this Id must be generated/sent in our protocol?

    Very nice.. Thanks for showing this - I watched a lot of videos before finally learning about Tempo.. A couple questions though if you don't mind.. How can I query the average request time from the TraceID? And How can get the duration of a session ( group of TraceIDs ) .. In Splunk you could use transaction to group events and generate a "duration" attribute. Thanks again!
