A quick how to relocate your car battery into the trunk followed by some typical vlog nonsense! Check out where I was able to grab some metal for CHEAP! logansteel.com/?page_id=365
Just looking for different ways that people mount their battery's and I stumbled across a throwback! It's crazy to see the progression from 4 years. 👌🏽
Should fuse the battery terminal so if there is a short anywhere from the motor to the trunk that blows and doesn't turn into a 20ft glowing red hot wire of fire, especially being in a drift car where anything is possible.
HoZyVN only need a fuse that's a little bigger than the alt can output eg: 80 amp alt 90-100 amp fuse. I have a secondary battery in the back of my car for my audio system and I have two fuses on the cross over wire, one on each end
See this is what people want to see, simple clear explanation and working with your hands. So many youtubers lose that and think people want to see over exaggerating happiness and crazy stuff and constant racing... No that gets old fast. Keep it up Jimmy! Love all your vids bro, take it sleazy and stay safe man
Great vid for a DIY. If relocation is not your thing, I recommend Braille Battery. Less than HALF the size of OEM and just as powerful. Made for racing & tight space. I ran the 17lb in my SR20 S14 and currently run the 21lb in my RB26 Z32. Amazing batteries
Interesting quick video. Be careful with the gauge of the wire 2 Ga is ok but it depends on the amps you are pulling. It is also recommended to put the battery in enclosed vented case.
Haha you should have made this video a few months ago for Evan shanks, I dont know how well that plastic weld works but I would worry about moisture getting in the headlight
It's actually easy to run the welding wire for relocating inside a s13 under the interior panels, and it doesn't push up on interior or anything all you have to do is run the wire with the stock wires along the side of the car like I always have on S chassis or any car.
I used that same bolt to ground my battery in my 240, did you ever run into battery drain issues, when I have it grounded where you did it drains the battery in a few days, brand new optima agm battery also.
Digging up an old vid, but i'm running my new starter cable from bat in boot for the Nexus R5.. Hard to get ideas on how others have installed and ran the wiring.
Jimmy the big letter looks better, what I've seen some friends do what's a little Grill Silvia is taken apart and pit LED lights where it says Silvia to make them look better.
at least 100amp fused inline circuit breaker within 12 inches of the positive terminal and its best to use a distribution block in the engine bay instead of wiring it all together like that.
You need to cover that positive terminal in case you put something in your trunk and it moved while driving and shorts out. I've seen cars catch fire. +1 on all the comments about installing a fuse too. A circuit breaker would work also.
The big letter "grill" i looks more aggressive, and would suit the build more, my rare parts guess, might be Nismo stuff? but you said the only thing Silvia left is the hood so maybe more oem parts? p.s love the videos, keep em coming :)
Austin Crissman find out how many amps your alternator is and use a fuse slightly larger. If your using 2guahe like him, i wouldnt ise any bigger than 200amp fuses. Fuse at front and at back.
Relocating my trunk in the rear lol 35sec.
I think i will relocate my 300zx one aswell lol
now I know why some super cars have trunks in the front, its so people like jimmy can relocate them to the back.
RageAgainstTheToyMachine LMFAO
Went straight chisfix there my boi
hey guys jimmy oakes here

Way to upload EARLY in the day. Check you out being all productive!
Should fuse the battery terminal so if there is a short anywhere from the motor to the trunk that blows and doesn't turn into a 20ft glowing red hot wire of fire, especially being in a drift car where anything is possible.
You need a pretty big fuse for that
HoZyVN only need a fuse that's a little bigger than the alt can output eg: 80 amp alt 90-100 amp fuse. I have a secondary battery in the back of my car for my audio system and I have two fuses on the cross over wire, one on each end
Teegan Cathcart I've heard people having problems with the fuse burning when they're starting the car
@thatsubieguy just use a circuit breaker
Big Letter SILVIA
Big Money Salvia
Bounced on my boy's D to this one for hours
MyName IsOllie obama turned the frogs gay AND POST
0:35 "relocating my trunk in the rear" 😂😂😂

Also I honestly like the old top one with the big Silvia letters, just looks way cleaner
Big letter grill. It just looks newer/cleaner idk
Nathan Hostetter agreed..i personally don't like the color of the small letter.it wouldn't mesh with the look of the car that great either.
if he cleans the small letter it looks well made
I hope you get big man, much more helpful and a better human being than most other CZcamsrs.
Awesome video man! Great how-to. I'm excited to get mine done now with a similar custom battery box in my 2JZ S13.

Stoked on this video. I've been wanting to relocate my battery but never saw a in depth video untill now. Keep up the good work.
Jimmy the goat! Such simple videos yet still interesting to watch
Good video dude. Thank you for being more in depth about the process!! Going to install mine this weekend on the sil80!
I'm so glad you do stuff legit. Instead of just throwing self tappers in, you make it look good and even. Great content bro! Keep it up
Nice how to Jim. I will also add the the install an inline fuse camp. Very clean battery tie down. Thumbs up.
Awesome videos Jimmy! Love all your content!
I'm hyped you made this video. Been wanting to do this to my coupe before I go KA-T. Now I have some guidance. Thanks
Man u kick ass i’m building a prerunner & working on a bed cage & have 0 room in the bay so this helped so much thank you!!!!!!
Big letter grill, silvia reppin!
You may want to add a inline ANL fuse at the battery in the rear, power wire under the car always sketches me out.
I love Jimmy
Big letter !!
Big letter Silvia for sure! cant wait to see the fitment with new fenders and spacers ;)
You just saved me soooooo much money. Thank You Mr.Oakes.
Big letter Silvia for sure
Good how to jimmy. Very chris fix of you. Also, big letter grill looks cleaner.
Thanks for the videos Jimmy ! Keep it up
100 AMP breaker required incase the cable shorts out. Especially being cable tied to the fuel and brake lines.
Great, useful video Jimmy - thanks
...and BIG letter Silvia - the smaller one looks yellowed to me
Interesting quick video. Be careful with the gauge of the wire 2 Ga is ok but it depends on the amps you are pulling. It is also recommended to put the battery in enclosed vented case.
Clean install jimmy :)
Yew! Loving the videos boys! Keep it up.
Did you use a breaker on the positive cable? Most people seem to do so when doing the relocation and I'm trying to figure out why.
dude your content is lit
NICE! A REALLY COOL AND EASY DIY!
0:35 "I'm gonna relocate my trunk in the rear" sure Jimmy😂
Definitely big letter, looks so clean. Also wanna see what are the rare parts.
Neither grill. GTR grill for the win!
Also is there a write up for your hydro e-brake set up?
Small letter with this yellowish tint, oldschool japanese for the win!
What are the benefits to you from this?
How much diameter of the positive wire?
Do you connect the near negative wire of the engine in the car body?
You said something about welding wire? what did you use it for? Was it for mounting it underneath?
Fuck whoever 👎🏼 Jimmy's videos! This dude seams to be the most genuine of the CT car CZcamsrs. Keep up the good shitz Jimmy!
Good video keep it up jimmy!!!!
what about all the other accessories? do they all come from the output from the alternator or from the battery terminal?
Haha you should have made this video a few months ago for Evan shanks, I dont know how well that plastic weld works but I would worry about moisture getting in the headlight
as a bass head this is actually very good work
It's actually easy to run the welding wire for relocating inside a s13 under the interior panels, and it doesn't push up on interior or anything all you have to do is run the wire with the stock wires along the side of the car like I always have on S chassis or any car.
Big letter grill just buff some of the yellow out.
Seeing this vid for the first time since you posted it 7 years ago. So how did it hold up without a fuse? Did you eventually add one or still no fuse?
I used that same bolt to ground my battery in my 240, did you ever run into battery drain issues, when I have it grounded where you did it drains the battery in a few days, brand new optima agm battery also.
finally a new video!
Big letter Silvia
JImmy has had quite the glow up
big silvia letter one!!
small letter grill looks better in my opinion however i feel it woukd look even better with a clear lense not the tinted/faded one..
Optima they are small you can mount them on there side in the middle under the package tray. For better weight distribution.
what do you do with all the wires that were connected to the ground terminal on the battery in the engine bay?
Digging up an old vid, but i'm running my new starter cable from bat in boot for the Nexus R5.. Hard to get ideas on how others have installed and ran the wiring.
*you sound much more professional when you dont force a laugh after every sentence jimmy. good work bro*
cody bersick it's not forced I'm just like that 😪🤦🏻♂️
Jimmy Oakes man I do the same thing, I know the feels.
What do you do with the original (-) battery cable that was hooked up to the battery when it was in the front?
Dude I’m wondering the same.does it get grounded back to the chassis?
Great video you should do more how to's
Did you vent the battery??
What did you do with the negative terminal where the battery was located under the hood?
I recommend metal zip ties if your resorting to zip ties in general, they last longer and they are metal
I think you're getting ganador side mirrors😍
Great vid big letter
Also fyi a good battery relocation kit is just an E36 battry cable. I learned that from Tommy
Im just gonna repeat myself till Jimmy notices it... You need a dope intro for your dope video's dude!
Big letter🔥
good video!
BMW battery cable from a 5 series or larger (just because of length). Preferably on 1/2 price day. I think I paid $15 for mine.
WeaselBurrito Yup... And you can still retain a place to jump from under the hood
Use the BIG Silvia. Stands out better and looks bolder as well.
0:02 looks like Kyle from boosted Boiz sent you his ping pong hat 😂😂
You need to cover that positive terminal in case you put something in your trunk and it moved while driving and shorts out.
I've seen cars catch fire.
+1 on all the comments about installing a fuse too. A circuit breaker would work also.
Big letter Silvia!
i'm liking the helpful videos
"Relocating my trunk in the rear" 😂😂😂
Big letter, also less faded it seems
Big letter because it's looks better but I'll buy that small letter one if you don't need it!
Brick Headlights?! They'd suit your car
Can we get Yung tuck stickers asap
duh i would buy em
Is this a drift car thing or do a lot of race cars do it?
Anything stopping the battery from moving forwards and backwards?
Pick-N-pull any Charger, Magnum, or 300C they have trunk mounted battery’s. The cable is like $6.99 with all OEM fittings. Your welcome lol
The big letter "grill" i looks more aggressive, and would suit the build more, my rare parts guess, might be Nismo stuff? but you said the only thing Silvia left is the hood so maybe more oem parts? p.s love the videos, keep em coming :)
Coat the terminals in some petroleum jelly. Its conductive and prevents corrosion
You did that battery relocation Perfectly.. just missed one thing. It should be fused with a inline fuse about 6" from the battery.
what amp fuse is best to run for this setup?
Austin Crissman find out how many amps your alternator is and use a fuse slightly larger. If your using 2guahe like him, i wouldnt ise any bigger than 200amp fuses. Fuse at front and at back.
John Buckland thanks man!
You're getting all clear tails
Keep the big letter grill man it looks better and cleaner
Honestly like the old school look of the smaller one
Rare parts for the interior maybe🤔
I used the "plastiweld" to fix my otter box. 3 months holding
small letter Silvia it is a little yellowish and looks amazing... oldschool japanese
Hey Jimmy - I wouldn't have a problem running a gel cell battery inside the car, but those venting type aren't exactly awesome to be riding with sir.
Do you have a link for cheap wire? I want to relocate mine but wire can be pricey
VeganDrifts go to a car wrecker and get one from a BMW battery's came stock in the trunk
You didn’t use a fuse ?
