    Wonderful video! I knew how to propagate leaves, but wasn't sure if I could propagate from the stem. My ghost plant was underwatered thru the winter and all of the leaves fell off about 2 weeks ago. I was able to get 3 new plants from leaves just before they all started falling off. But now I'm left with the stem. I'm gunna do this today!

    Sorry, newbie here and I'm confused. I thought succulents can't be given too much water? So how come leaving the roots submerged in water a good thing then? I would really like to understand this.

      it’s really strange isn’t it?? i’m not sure of the exact science but i think i read somewhere that the thought is that water isn’t what specifically causes issues like root-rot and molding and it’s actually various things in the soil that causes these things (Bacteria and such)

    • @Vuedanto
      @Vuedanto Před rokem

      Well it's the microorganisms in the soil that cause rot so putting in clean water isn't bad.

      Hi Marxabo... the easiest way of propagating amaryllis is by dividing the bulbs. Separate the bulbs carefully and pot them up in well-draining soil.

    • @smallthingswithmoumita9444
      @smallthingswithmoumita9444  Před 3 lety +6

      Hi...As the cuttings are rooted in water, after repotting keep the soil moist for 2-3 weeks ( to make transition easy from water to soil). First couple of weeks keep them in bright, indirect light. Then you can keep them in a sunny spot.

    Why did the leaves fall off the Panda Plant stem cutting that I tried propagating in water? :(

    • @aodoesgames7024
      @aodoesgames7024 Před 2 lety

      Maybe it didn’t have enough nutrients?? i’m no expert but im currently propagating a succulent and noticed one of the leaves was drying up. I added some liquid fertilizer to the water and left the leaf on so that it could keep taking nutrients from it if it needed it and it just sprouted its first roots the other day :)

      Are you pulling them off of your plant while the leaf is healthy? I have tried to propagate a lot of my plants from leaves. The only ones that had success, was the healthy leaves. If you leave the leaves sit too long before propagating, it can cause it to do that. I put all of mine just above the water. It takes about a month to grow, but I usually see a whole new plant in there along with a bunch of new roots.
