  • #105 from the Hymnal 1982. Closing Hymn on the Second Sunday after Christmas, January 3, 2016, at St. Bartholomew's, an Episcopal church in New York City.
Words & Tune: Traditional English carol, ca. 16th century
This will be my final video post of music from St. Bartholomew's, as the church has recently updated its policy on recording within the premises. This tune is a fitting way to go out.
Thank you for all the wonderful and positive feedback I have received over the past five years-from all around the world! It is my hope that this sacred music has somehow inspired you on your unique journey, as it has mine.
    Grace and peace.

Joseph, this is really sad! I have been following you (through my old account and then through this one) for years, and your recordings are very precious for any church musician! Hope you will not close this account. Thank you for the inspiration you provided all these years! Wishing you a successful and serene New year!

+Tess Testeza Thank you very much for your kind words-they really mean a lot to me! I started this channel after stumbling upon +karpov89 's videos of High Mass from the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Sweden about six years ago. I realized then that what connects us across denominations-and oceans, even!-is our music, and I felt inspired to contribute to the harmony. With viewership from all six inhabited continents, I'm thankful for having had that opportunity. Now it's time to respect the wishes of my home church, as I am just a parishioner there, but this channel will remain open to all who want to listen. Who knows who will be inspired next? May your New Year be filled with blessings, joy, and peace!

    Greetings, Joseph...
I too would like to express my thanks for the recordings you have done over the years. While video recordings might be taboo, would the church be willing to let you make audio recordings? Just a thought...
I'm wondering why they object to recording audios within the premises..
I am aware, however, that St. Thomas in N. Y. does not allow recordings (without permission)...
Perhaps the church will initiate a video stream or an audio stream on their web site of their services...
Again, many thanks for your videos...I
