      @@RAMESH-js9lc I do not agree with your assessment/ interpretation. He was never a member of that party. He has always done what he has said. He never said that he would join BJP. He was doing his job to make them win election. At that point, he wasn’t working as a political leader but a political aid.
      But the same might be said for JDU rather BJP which he formally joined at one point of time. Now my assessment is he failed during that time but he learnt out of it. I wish and I hope he stays committed to what he has said recently regarding Bihar. I’m quite optimistic about it and I believe he will stay true to his words.

    To Prateek Chauhan:
    very good point. This is not just about the leadership alone, it is also about us.
    When we vote we need some ‘criteria’ for ourselves to say that this man or woman is worth my vote and is good for our India.
    People vote for different reasons in why a candidate or the party propaganda appeals to us.
    I’m not willing to blame anyone for their vote. But I do see it as revealing of what we think about ourselves and our country.
    From that perspective, in my view, I would not VOTE for PK because of his support for such high disregard for human life.
    That does not make him bad on all points. I hold no angst against PK or a Modi supporter. It’s at arms-length - I do not think people without empathy and compassion are fit to rule anywhere because sooner or later that lack of connection to us as people will show up in their legislation, their attitude to opinions against them …. the rest is self evident.
    Very interesting point. Thanks.

    PK will be in circulation,
    1- As long as the group of elite journalists want to believe that he has the potential to defeat NaMo, given the right opportunity and political backing (lateral entry!).
    2- When the strong polical leaders feel insecure just before the election and start looking for some kind of tactical support in the unfamiliar but dominant digital era. For them election is a periodic ritual to get over with in order to capture power.
    3- As long as PK is able to be sought by the potentially winning leaders.
    He spots the fear psychy of powerful political leaders and able to exploit using his intrigue, guile and most importantly his image as the wizard who delivers sucessful results repeatedly.
    With the kind followers and admirers among urban, intelligent, secular, neutral, open-minded people; he is all primed up to be monetised as NFT! an asset in the virtual world!!
    What will be his role in 2024?
    Jai Hind!!!

    Prashant ji, I am a senior citizen aged 67 and have lived through 1973-80 the tumultuous period of JP, Janta Party and its fall. As a simpleton student of social science, I used to express my doubt about JP's hidden agenda and real intention of unseating Indira Gandhi only due to his jealousy with J L Nehru and his family. His सम्पूर्ण क्रांति was a facade. And I dare say I could not be proved wrong in my assessment. Bihar has been thrown into the maze of anarchy since rise of JP. In simple words, he was an egoist bereft of any principle. Do you agree and if yes, what do you propose for the future of Bihar and India?

    • @heyhowareyou1
      @heyhowareyou1 Před 2 lety +1

      @Sause Tum If you are interested in the Emergency Era, please read India's First Dictatorship by Christophe Jaffrelot. In the Name of Democracy by Bipan Chandra is also a good read. Hope this helps!

    • @carlzend8091
      @carlzend8091 Před 2 lety +1

      Karnaji, excellent point. I too have lived through that period and worked to unseat Indiraji because of the Emergency.
      JP was a very different party then - intelligent, secular, passionate about people’s issues and felt about them. Jayprakash Narayan, Morarji Desai all deeply rooted in Gandhiji’s secularism and socialism.
      Then slowly over time came this lot - bereft of values, with several accusations of criminal behavior in their past and people voted them into power !
      For some reason Indians seem to have lost their sharpness to vote ONLY CHARACTER.
      The rest can be learned or built through teams as we had Sonyaji provide us with Manmohan Singh.
      All said I believe in Indians and come the next term BJP should be out of power for good.
      Until then …. let’s keep writing about our history so that younger people may know and decide for themselves.

    He was an excellent election strategist. And that is a matter beyond reach of any doubt. His clarity of thought and ground feel is a matter of great admiration. However his continued vacillation towards, initially JD U and then falling foul of the party, and later a double dalliance with Congress and then failing to make an entry shows a political ambition which falls short of much reason and his political capacity. Often he is more self consumed trying to explain away a position in defence and non committal than any political agenda. The ideas he is espousing may be good in intent but he lacks any clarity on politics. I also feel that politics he could fail as he has repeatedly done, despite exhibiting political strategizing of highest quality.

While in NDTV I had tried to convey my mind to your point of view then, but now it seems that I can finaly send some of my views. At that time it was of some other otther issue of the other. Now that I can send some view to you...I hope you can or maybe will tell me that it's possible. I have seen your programs a lot so maybe you could tell me if its possible to ask some questions.

    Being a good Election Strategist is one thing, governing a State is another thing. Does PK have any experience in holding public office? what are his contributions to our Society? There are millions of people in india with good intentions and ideas on how the country should be governed. That does not mean these people would make good leaders. good intentions alone are not enough.

    PK, you may take being an aid for BJP as a learning but people are paying price for that. People have been suffering. !! And PK has grievances towards Congress as well - in the question of alliance with Shivsena that came across. And He doesn't have inherent commitment towards Congress. So it is difficult to include him in the Congress constitutional framework as he had hoped for.

If BJP has such terrific support in the media like congress has then BJP might never lose any election anywhere. BD and her ilks had missed the huge opportunity to corner Modi govt during pandemic. I mean if she really believes WHOs number of deaths ( though are arrived through models and they refuse to share the basis with GOI), then she should bang her head in frustration because she and her team had first hand information on deaths occurring throughout the country through her travels of months during COVID. she and her ilks, instead of waiting for WHO , should themselves have corroborated the actual numbers on ground and had busted the GOI deaths reporting on timely basis and had provided ammunition to opposition to attack BJP last year then for sure the results of last 5 elections could have been different. Bottom line Lutyens don’t want to work hard on ground and wanted to leverage some global reporting to attack GOI which anyway is late in the game. Even hypothetically we believe what WHO has reported is correct, still BJP is having a last laugh because they know that the other side don’t have that commitment or determination to work their ass off to expose them on timely basis. As they say one has to eat, sleep, drink politics to remain politically relevant be it politician or journalist. And the proof of pudding is in eating see where Arnab is and where BD is ???
