ACDelco Brake Pressure Warning Switch AC Delco #88983914 - Zábava
GM Part #88983914
After searching for hours! you were the only one to show part without the mounting bracket. Kudos great job.
Your the man! I changed my wife's front brakes yesterday. And when I was done the brake light wouldn't go off. Driving me crazy. I noticed also when I unplugged that same pressure sensor the brake light went off. So I'm going to replace it and see what happens. Thanks again 😁👍
Great to hear!
Kudos to you!! Had to replace the abs control module on my 2004 avalanche. Torx screw stripped. Had to remove pump. Bottom line, lost all brake fluid. Fixed ABS problem, brake light and "service brake system" would not resolve. No one would accept that my Aval. had no brake fluid sensor, and my parking brake switch tested good. You were the only person to get me headed in the correct direction. I'll try to order the part tonight. High hopes it's a fix!!
Right on. Good luck. I hope this fixes your issue.
Spot on my friend. We had the same issue and was able to pull the protrusion out again which shut off the light. Thanks!
This problem just started today. Im ordering this part tonight. Thank you 🙏
Glad it helped
Thanks man.
This should be a written on sky
Great help
Wow, thanks!
Quickest fix ever thanks my dude
Glad to help
The pressure differential switch turns the red brake light on if there’s a difference of pressure between the 2 chambers of the master cylinder. If the light turns off when you unplug the sensor, that doesn’t necessarily indicate a bad sensor. You’re basically opening the electrical circuit that turns the light on, but may still having an issue in the brake system. It is important to inspect the system to make sure the 4 wheels are getting the proper pressure.
Yeah mine shows no resistance and turns off light when unplugged.
Good advice. Part is so cheap most people will fix it with changing it and go further if that doesn't work. Make a video about going further and post it in the comments. It could help someone.
Before spending money on the part I fixed mine by unscrewing it from the port wiping the sensor on my shirt and the port had corrosion so I blew it out and installed the old sensor fixed my problem
Good simple fix. I like it.
I bought the brake level sensor also. Didnt think my base model truck would have anything else but that.
I bought both too.
The switch is easily opened. Open the switch and clean the contacts. The one that will be on the end and closed is the one that causes the problem. Just fixed mine that way.
That's good advice. Thanks.
@@AbouTto_ Ya, except it quit working. I guess it's good for troubleshooting but apparently once the contacts wear out they are no good and it won't last long. I'm going to have to replace the switch. :/
Sweet !
Thanks!
It goes away if I unplug the sensor could I just drive around with it unplugged
I don't know if the ECU will operate the brakes differently if you do. Probably ok since the systems are so simple for that truck. It's a cheap part. I'd just replace it.
Did you fix the problem long-term? Just because the warning message went away doesn’t necessarily mean it didn’t come back. My message seems to come and go. But it’s the same service brake system message. Sounds like a cheap part that might be worth trying out and seeing if it solves my intermittent problem. Thanks for posting
it could be a ground to the system that came loose. look at this video also czcams.com/video/K3XOqeH2HCA/video.html
Yes was no issue after for me.
Hell yeah brother, thank you very much!
Why would the tip be soaked with brake fluid. Even the connector is soaked and the pin holes are green like when battery terminal get corroded. My brake light went off when I disconnected this sensor. Just stopped to say thanks I think this will fix my issue and not the ground wire or the abs computer module sauder problem thank you again 😅
I really appreciate the positive comment.
It's been about a year since I replaced this sensor. This fixed it.
@@quickchrome2012 Good. Thank you.
I called everyone and looked online and can't find the brake pressure switch.
Rockauto has a good online catalog if you still need help. Google OEM GM Parts also to get help.
Where did you get the part from?
Sorry, just saw this comment. Amazon or Advanced Auto Parts carry it. Rock Auto has a good search feature to find part numbers.
@@AbouTto_ what's the part name and number?
Link?
Was abs light on also?
I can't remember for sure, but I do think so.
What car was this on and what year ?
Did you skip the beginning of the vid? Literally said 03 Chevy Silverado lol
When I copied and pasted the part number to Amazon, it said it does not fit my 03 Silverado
Unplugging it is my solution
Easy fix.
Good information but please learn how to aim a camera
I'm glad it helped Randy. Be nice to someone to make up for the negativity. I forgive you.
The dealer wants 564.00 for this switch I bought one at autozone for 119.00 looks simple enough
It's simple. Don't run the truck with it removed. That's a $20 part for a 03 Silverado. Double check your part. www.autozone.com/brakes-and-traction-control/brake-pressure-warning-switch/p/acdelco-brake-pressure-warning-switch-88983914/86460_3004835_0?searchText=88983914 | www.amazon.com/ACDelco-88983914-Original-Equipment-Differential/dp/B0010GHZIS/ref=sxts_b2b_sx_reorder_acb_customer?content-id=amzn1.sym.44ecadb3-1930-4ae5-8e7f-c0670e7d86ce%3Aamzn1.sym.44ecadb3-1930-4ae5-8e7f-c0670e7d86ce&crid=3N8JH3RPG4RAJ&cv_ct_cx=88983914&keywords=88983914&pd_rd_i=B0010GHZIS&pd_rd_r=713bf596-701d-4cdb-9c94-14c43fd36628&pd_rd_w=BL1s6&pd_rd_wg=OI7Hy&pf_rd_p=44ecadb3-1930-4ae5-8e7f-c0670e7d86ce&pf_rd_r=MR2T0ZF2VTSMG88RJ47N&qid=1674517032&sprefix=88983914%2Caps%2C102&sr=1-1-62d64017-76a9-4f2a-8002-d7ec97456eea
