    My guy, if more "idiots" cycle everywhere, you'll have less traffic, more room for you in hospitals, more parking space for you in cities, and people who really need to drive (Like police, paramedics, disabled people, or even cyclists who dont feel like cycling), will have a better time as well. And what do you pay for all that? A lane on one of your roads, or a couple of streets in the city? Seems like a fair deal

    I concur, those hired bikes are dreadful-they appear unattractive and handle terribly. However, if you have your own bike, they're fantastic! I adore cycling and relishing the breeze in my hair. Last Sunday morning, I pedaled through Leeds city center with no traffic, and it was truly one of the most enjoyable rides I've experienced. plus with an e-bike you can get to the other side of the city in half the time as a car. Cars in cities are ugly, loud, and awful for pollution

      Carry on with your great work. The UK really needs some investments into that, I was shocked when I moved over from Germany how bad it is in most places.
      I used those rental bikes regularly on city trips, the only annoying thing is, that every city has another company and therefore app, they were all in good condition and rideable though. Just look at the rental bike dilemma in China, where they used cheap "regular" bicycles and not "tanks " like they do in the UK.

    Vinnie, look in to the fiscal aspects of this too. All these companies make huge deficits each year, tax payers foot the bill unknowingly. building the cyclable paths is also involving shady payments to friends in the construction field, putting up road signs and on and on and on it goes. It's a fiscal collapse tool no one wants or uses. My city is being ruined by this, amongst many other things.

      You do realise the government pays billions to subsidise fossil fuels as well right? Dont get me wrong petrol is super useful and the world couldnt function without it and so it should absoluetly be subsidised. Im not going to change your mind in a youtube comment, but know that even taxpayers who dont own a car foot the bill of fossil fuels just as drivers foot the bill of cycling infrastructure.

    • @stuckin513
      @stuckin513 Před 3 měsíci

      Roads are paid for by all tax payers, regardless of if they have a car or not.
      If you consider the cost-per-trip in required infrastructure/maintenance, driving is exponentially higher than cycling (and walking/public transit).
      Driving has been subsidized by non-drivers for a long time.
