Firstly being skinny doesn't mean that you are " healthy" and being overweight doesn't necessarily mean you are poor either. Just like you said for you being thin is just your body, the same goes for some people that are overweight..... it's just their body type. Enlightenment is key!💯

I am a born & raised American in my early 40’s & wanted to share with you some things you touched on that you’re used to in Kenya that used to be the same here when I was growing up 😊 & that have obviously changed over the next generation here lol. 1) You spoke about respect & calling Professors by their first name lol. Growing up we never thought of calling our Coaches, Teachers, Professors or our elders by their first names! lol. We called them by their last name so for example it was Coach Smith or Mrs. or Mr. Jones etc. if it were our teacher or say a friend’s parents. You always addressed adults by their last name. It was a no no to call them by their first name. It was all about respect 😊 2) The thought of wearing pajamas outside of your home was unheard of lol. No one did that or even wore sweat pants to school. If you wore sweat pants to school you were thought to be poor instead of comfortable lol. We cared about our appearances looking nice, professional & respectful. It is interesting how times change lol & how things are perceived. I also got surprised by the amount of sugar in everything when I got to study in Berea College. It also took a while for me to stop feeling like every food was made of corn syrup. This is a nice video. We also did a mini documentary with other Berea international students at the time about our culture shocks. Many of them mentioned the size of the food portions at restaurants.
The corn growers spend a LOT of money to promote all corn products such as corn syrup and ethanol HARD. They must do a good job, because it is EVERYWHERE!

I live in NY, our drivers are the most impatient and have no issue running you over :/ Our sodas are just carbonated air hahaha, taste horrible.....sugar rush is real haha. Pajamas to class does happen often, but certain schools, especially HBCUs, they care about their appearance and be dressed up extremely often. Fast food is out of control in the US! The google maps thing is fairly recent. Just like not memorizing any phone numbers, addresses, or birthdays, it'sall in the phone now. Also you'll find a mixture of folks still using Mr., Mrs., Auntie, Uncle, etc... to address others. Even some teachers address small children as Mr. or Ms. with their last names. You may not have come accross them yet. A big thing for young people is calling each other cousin or cuz, even strangers. It's an endearment thing. That is one difference, if someone is within like a 5 to 10 year age range of each other, they do not get addressed as someone their senior. AND seniors to us is something different then in other countries countries. So like in other vids, it doesn't matter of the person is only 2 years older, they are your senior. But here to get that respect you have to be of a parent or grandparents a age. The problems come in when you run accross someone who is a middle aged or older that still wants to seem young. They are the ones who don't want to be called Mr. or Mrs. Again this behavior is fairly recent too. It's confusing.
How is healthy food treated in Kenya? Like in the US, it is for the rich. In Kenya, is healthy food available to poor people or is it also only a luxury for rich people?
majority of underprivileged communities have farms and eat farm produce. Fresh Farm produce is very expensive in the US, there is high price tags for organic foods unlike in Kenya. KFC is a luxury at home but that is only for poor people here

During college I found it weird that no one called our professors by their title. There I was, the oldest person in class, almost the instructors age... the only like "Professor" "Sir" "Ma'am". 🤣🤣🤣
American soda has a lot of chemicals. When I got married in Nigeria, I tasted the soda there and it tasted like it used to in America when I was a kid. They make more money from loading our food and beverages with chemicals...smh.

Some of these people have graduated college. It is not the students fault, the US has dumbed down the education system. Knowing two highschool teachers, you would be in shock at what the kids of today do not know. You may think it's an insult, but she just stated FACTS.
Many Americans could not find the African continent on a map, let alone any country. I have seen late night TV shows like Jay Leno stop people on the street and ask them to point out Germany on a map or even a US state like Indiana and they are clueless. All of them claim to be high school graduates or even more studies beyond that. It is stunning to me. Their response is usually “ I am never going there and I don’t care” or “ I didn’t pay attention in class, just enough to get through the tests”. I know that geography is not taught in many school systems, or it is glossed over.

Granted it is not taught in the Schools and Africa has a lot of countries in it and they are constantly changing boarders but I think you should at least know where the USA is on a map.
