But I don't hear that depth of your original sound (Obsession) :(
Are you change your main sound? You changed your mind about sound completely? Or is it just an add on?
One can never beat the original versions. It's a more modern version, made as an accompanying piece - not as a substitute.
By the way - the real original version of the song is the rock ballad version from 2007, so the Obsession version from 2010 has already been a remix. ;)
And - in hindsight, I think the 2010 version is bit too slow - with only 110 BPM. Now, it's 118.
To be honest, most of the songs on the album "Obsession" are a bit too slow and I was not satisfied with the overall sound. I guess, it is a natural development and bands from the 80s don't sound like back in the 80s today. If you listen to the new versions of "Sweet Surrender" and "Pandora's Box" for example - those are the definitive versions for me now. But I understand that you love a certain period, sound and style. Just like I love Alice Cooper's 1989+1991 albums with Desmond Child (with songs such as "Poison" and "Bed of Nails").
If I listen to his recent albums and compare them, I have to say that I don't like them and that they are totally different in sound and songwriting.
I hope, there are still songs of my newer productions that you like but I totally respect that you like the sound/songs on "Obsession" best.
I've got the same thing going with Alphaville: I LOVE the sound and songwriting on their debut album "Forever Young" - for me, it's their definitive album. Just like many other debut albums by bands are. Why's that? Because bands/artists got the most time and the best songs to choose for their debuts and they don't have to fullfil expectations by fans. With every forthcoming album, it's getting more and more difficult because one can never please everyone.
And - always remember to keep the fire of 80s music burning!
