Tom Pelfrey is the quintessential NATURAL. Whatever the role, Tom becomes the character and then he pours on the Pelphrey heart in ample servings. Love him!
Tom is breathtaking to watch on-screen....he honestly should've won every year he's been on as Jonathan....he definately should win this year for his stuff with the wedding to Tammy and her death it was just heartbreaking
Emmy Loser (1996) Frank Beaty here (Brent Lawrence / Marian Crane, 95-96). I only discovered Pelphrey's work through his breakthrough into true big time, via Ozark season 3. I can tell you that it is an honor to be in the Alumni category with actors like this man. He blew my socks off in his work on Ozark...and all the while watching I said to myself, "Sheeeit...I got me another actor to look up on IMDB..." Had no idea he was an Alum of my own beloved GL Alma Mater. And I can also say, had I won in my own year, I would have tried to say EXACTLY every sentiment, to the person, that he did, and the way he did it. A class act as well as a True Thoroughbred, that Tom Pelphrey. Nothing but respect, sir. Best, Frank Beaty, fellow proud GL Alum.
If this is really Frank Beaty you were phenomenal on GL. I loved your storyline. Brent/Marian was thrilling to watch even though it was dark, the darkest any story GL ever did even darker than Sonni/Solita (the great Michelle Forbes!). You deserved an Emmy.
@@lawbeaty I heard you moved to Texas. I live in Houston. You should do Alan Locher’s Locher Room chats. He has interviewed virtually all of GL (and others) former stars. I heard that story really took its toll. Michelle Forbes said the same of her experience on GL. It nearly broke her. Her storyline was epic. Daytime is not for the faint of heart. Anyway, I know it was a dark story, but it was one of the best ever attempted on daytime. Bro, you really were phenomenal. Hate it took you out of daytime.Marian needed a return to Springfield!

When James took over Ruby was replaced by Cicely Tyson! She spoke about GL the day before she died on Kelly and Ryan. I think you acted on GL when Allison Janney was on. Alan Locher interviewed Brittney Snow, Tammy Blanchard (primetime Emmy for playing Judy Garland, multiple Tony noms) and Paul Wesley (Vampire Diaries) who were on all the show at the same time (along with Hayden Panettiere). The list of GL alums who because Oscar, Tony, and Emmy winners or just huge stars is long. Good alumni to be a part of! Take care.

Ever since the ever famous raw emotion that Tom potrayed in the jonathan characther i thought and still think for sure he just got his start on GL like many an actor has over the years and i think TOm is destined for the big screen.....

You must have ESP to know that! I'm sure people have said the same thing about GL a couple of decades ago. If DVDs caused a downward spiral for soaps, VHS should've done the same in their day. That's not the reason soaps are losing viewers. And cell phones aren't new.
I'm quite smart, actually. Tyra is on FOX. There is no soap on FOX. Why do you think networks aren't making money? Because people aren't watching. Their main audience was women, and now more and more women are joining the work force which mean they're losing the audience they appealed to most back on the days of Luke and Laura where their wedding drew in millions of viewers and soaps like GH aren't even making half of that.And on soaps you make more money on contract roles. Not every1 has one.
