So Hannah and I were watching the Lion King while Luna played wildly with her toys. But right as Mufasa falls to his death, she stops and turns to the TV to watch. To see her crying at the TV was the sweetest thing I think I’ve ever seen. She even lays down right after Simba lays with his dad....We don’t deserve dogs. 💚 4 months old and she’s already showing empathy.

@@collegebro85 : I didn't say it was "just for children". I meant, facial expressions, feelings, can be easily catched by them, by the visual. You don't need a very deep analysis to catch them, so animals (who're often compared, for the smartest of them, to young children relatively to their level intelligence) can catch them too.
And now you say this, even if I didn't watch these movies, yes, I think they're JUST for children cognition. Even if, like everything else, popularity feeds popularity, and older people are now going to watch them for this main reason.
You know the animators did well when even when cartoonish and pixelated, animals can understand the body language of the animal, like the waving tail and pulled back ears. It's amazing!

That's actually something I'm curious about. Which thing is triggering the response more do you think? The animal body language? Or the grieving human voice of the child. Because dogs respond to human vocal cues a LOT. It's an interesting phenomena.

Dogs and cats are VERY tuned in to facial expressions! She's empathizing with the sadness on Simba's face. The only reason she's not reacting to Scar evilness is because they're not showing it through his facial expression. I bet she would if they gave him a real evil expression 😉
Yes, but she noticably reacted when scar slowly appeared out of the shadows, probably thinking that Simba was in immediate danger and she stayed alert until she realized he was okay... Haha, feels like I'm writing my own version of this video!😂

There is incontrovertible proof that animals have emotions, dogs have a large depth of emotion in fact. There is a whole field dedicated to animal behavior and psychology. Look into the vast amount of publications by them. A simple read would be ‘The Emotional Lives Of Animals’ by Marc Bekoff

All joking aside, I'd like to see how the dog reacts to other programming. My guess is the dog is reacting not to the screen, but to some sound, maybe from the speakers, outside the range of our hearing. In my experience dogs rarely react to anything on TV other than wolves howling or maybe dogs barking. Remember, we may perceive reality through our eyes, but they perceive it mostly through their noses, and they generally know these images with no scents are not real.

Turns out, animators that do the lion king is underdog animators at disney company. Disney put all of their best animators to work on pocahontas, which disney planned to be their next big hit. Lion King was rejected by one of disney director because the director don't like the song. So they give it to another director.

Pitbulls ARE aggressive and can snap at any moment because they were breed that way by humans, and just because pitbull are more prone towards aggression and make up a pretty large portion of dog bite incidents doesn’t mean all pitbulls will be, most pitbulls probably won’t bite a single person in their entire lifetimes but like I previously stated pitbulls are more likely to than most other dogs.
Pitbulls are more likely to be aggressive than other dogs. It's a fact. Doesn't mean every pitbull is gonna go wild and eat a baby. But it is absolutely more statistically likely to do so than say a Labrador retriever.

Right Dog spelled backwards is God. I've heard that the dog was the last living creature god created because he was tired after all creation. He decided at the very end to create a friend to keep him company after all of his tireless work. Dogs have short life spans because it shouldn't take a lifetime to teach a human what love is, if it were up to me, I'd give them a much longer life span. Maybe God kept the lifespan short because he knew that mankind could be cruel and abusive and didn't want man's best friend to suffer any more than 10 to 12 years.

It's more than that. Simba is showing very human facial expressions so that the human audience can sympathize with him, but dogs rapidly develop an understanding of the same expressions, likely as a result of millennia of domestication. It is very likely that the dog can literally read the sadness on Simba's face.

I know what you mean. One of the most heart warming things I've seen in a long time is what her dog, BB, did when she was crying bc her parrot got loose and flew out the door. He whined, went over to his toy box, found his favorite, most treasured lovie, a pink cloth chew toy, and put it down at her feet,wagging his tail.
Its the EMPATHY they have for the pain in others and their strong desire to COMFORT and protect those in distress . and this is why DOGS ARE SO MUCH BETTER THAN HUMANS
reminds me of this story... A six yr old boy overheard their vet and his parents talking about the time of a Dalmation he had grown up with was about to be put down bc of age and the extreme amount of pain she'd been experiencing the past few weeks. They were struggling to explain why it had to happen to themselves..let alone their son. He walked into the room,and said "I know why dogs don't live very long..." *he said** "Why?" *they asked** "We're only down here on Earth for as long as long as it takes for us to learn unconditional love and loyalty...dogs are born knowing how to do that, so they don't have to stay that long"
