drone feature is awesome too, always felt the nyx needed something like that, the dark mysterious little bits of sound it throws out were begging to be put into a big long atmospheric drone

Erebus v3 or Nyx v2? Mainly interested in dark ambient, noise, drone, industrial, soundscapes, etc. HELP!
Owning both and the earlier versions I’d say Nyx v2 fits your styles more. I think all the ways it diverges from the Erebus, the modifiers instead of standard ADSR, reverb in place of delay, the drone toggle without needing to patch a gate in..it’s just all tailor made for the genres/styles mentioned. Erebus v2 is quite nice as well though, the third oscillator capable of free running or following osc one is a nice thing on that unit.
For those types of music, the Nyx for sure! I use mine for exactly the same thing. The Erebus is nice, too, but the Nyx is practically tailor made for experimental music.
