  • Another drone flight, this time down by the mouth of the newly changed Don River. The river will now flow further south and connect with Lake Ontario only a few hundred metres from where it originally flowed from. Check out the new wetlands and see views of the ever growing cityscape!
Drone is a DJI Mini 2 SE - Song is Dreams by Benjamin Tissot.

Well done. It’s hard to capture how huge this project is.

Overall, I think the project is beautiful! The two Bridges that carry traffic look really nice, cool look. The footbridge also looks well done. Great Job!

That was a nice overview of this project! Can't want to see all the greenery start growing.

I hope you haven’t forgotten that the Don River floods every year, sometimes quite a lot!🥴

Hopefully this new project will help mitigate some of the flooding going forward!

Still would like an explanation why they tore down the on and off ramps to the Gardiner? Dramatically increased travel times getting to or coming from the west end of town to the east side. Seems like incompetence to me!

Could make an awsome camp park. The don river delta into the lake , n the valley cleaned n restored to a nature preserve

I had to manually unlock it and it still restricted me to 60 metres height wise. I was super careful because it was around the airport. Didn't see any planes that day so everything went well.

I'll hold my thoughts until I see this in person. I wonder who will ever access it. No parking. Of course City of Toronto wants to punish anyone who is not committed to riding a bicycle, so that is likely the answer. I'll just ride my bicycle from Etobicoke and hope for the best.

Despite this being winter and still under construction, there have been loads of people down there each time I've visited. For the bicycle challenged, there is Uber and they've built a dedicated lane where the new streetcar line will go. Parking? This is 2024 not 1974. 99% of Toronto is built for cars. 1% of it isn't and that's tantamount to punishing drivers? I love driving but the level of selfishness and entitement expressed by some car drivers is off the chart.

Take the train downtown and then hop on a streetcar or bike share. The city doesn’t even have enough places for people to live. Where do you think they can fit abundant at grade parking on ecologically sensitive lands? It would be a waste of space because it’s probably only occupied on weekends and the city won’t even be able to get much property tax out of that. I get that it used to be you can expect to drive everywhere, park, do your things and drive off, but with the population density where it is and where it’s heading, you can’t have most people driving or owning a car in the city. There are multiple benefits for an urban life to be less car dependent, so I’ll spare those and say time has changed.

I literally ended up here by accident just by taking a bus. Cars and bikes aren’t the end-all be-all of transportation.
