      May I ask to your, sir...what the name of the things which you used to collecting the pollen ? And...when the potatoe flower burst the pollen ?

      Hi Ahmad, if the stamens turn a little brown at the end, the pollen is ripe. Just try, if they're not ready you won't get any pollen out. The time of day can also be decisive. Preferably not at too high a temperature because they will not catch on as well. The device I use is a cut cream whipper. But most use an electric toothbrush.

    I know this video is old, but can you explain what pollination does on potatoes? There are not many videos on it. From what I heard, potatoes grow whether there pollinated or not? I just don't understand what the pollination will actually do on potatoes. I heard about tomato like fruit on the plant when pollinated. I guess I just want to know the purpose and how to get seeds for potatoes.

      Pollinating potatoes is only necessary when developing new varieties. To propagate a variety by seed is impossible because it breaks down genetically. In several videos I explain the whole process.
