    Things have changed since then (hint: it's not easy to meet people face to face today than it was before, you know why!), and so make sure you watch this video about the ground plane antenna setting and then subscribe to us so you don't miss other interesting videos on our channel!
    In the next 20 minutes, you will learn how to set up a 350W FM radio station and how to use some of the following radio station equipment, including:
    1. Audio Mixer, Audio Mixer
    2. 350W FM Broadcast Transmitter
    3. Audio Source (MP3)
    4. Mic, with a stand
    5. Accessories
    Things you should know ahead:
    1. Basically, a higher setting place for the antenna means more coverage, so set up your antenna as higher as possible (don't forget the transmitter TPO!).
    2. Always remember the well-connection between an antenna and an FM broadcast transmitter before power on, I'm pretty sure that you would not let your transmitter burn down to the ground because of the high VSWR of the antenna

    This is a cute video, but I'm in the USA and formerly owned three licensed commercial stations; an FM station, and two AM stations. I would highly advise caution putting 350 watts on the air. If you cause interference to any licensed station or aircraft, the FCC will come looking for you and the fines are steep! (The aircraft band is just above the FM band)
    Have fun, but be careful.

    • @fmuserbroadcast
      @fmuserbroadcast  Pƙed rokem +1

      Thanks for your comment! You are right, in the United States and some other FCC regulated areas, to set up a radio station, especially a broadcast station with hundreds of watts, you must apply for a broadcast license, but in those countries and regions that are not under the control of the FCC, to set up a broadcasting station are relatively simpler and less expensive. . . By the way, in addition to radio transmitters, we also provide high-quality radio station equipment (FM/TV/AM). If you need for long-term business relationship, we could be your best choice! Anyway, please feel free to contact us: www.fmradiobroadcast.com/. Have a good day!

      One need only cause economic interference to get a SWAT team from the fcc. The US government has seized the airwaves since 1913 and stolen them from the people.

    Being a 30-year radio veteran myself, there are a number of things I wanted to point out about this video.
    First, I realize English isn't her first language, but she keeps calling knobs "buttons." A "button" is something you push, like a doorbell. A "knob" is something you *turn*.
    Another thing: it looked to me like she was instructing people to turn on the "phantom power" (that's the 48-volt button she pushed on the mixer) for a dynamic mic. You DO NOT DO THIS!! Condenser microphones are what need phantom power, NOT dynamic mics. I would NOT shoot 48 volts into a dynamic mic element as you risk frying it.
    Also, that's a 350-watt FM transmitter. Depending on terrain and antenna height, that thing can throw a signal for a good 15-20 miles in all directions. I don't know where this video was shot, but if you're caught doing this in the U. S. without an FCC license, you risk a $10,000 fine for running a pirate radio station. Anything over Part 15 power without a license is illegal. A word of caution to those who don't know and are considering doing this.

    • @stevelamperta865
      @stevelamperta865 Pƙed 8 lety +9

      +wannawatchu66 free people do not need licenses to take a piss.....if you like the idea of having a license i respect that but dont push your infringements onto me. as long as no one is being hurt in any way then theres no problem. I dont beleive in licenses. im not a slave and no one owns me.

    • @ApartmentKing66
      @ApartmentKing66 Pƙed 8 lety +5

      Steve Lamperta Pushing infringements onto you? Been reading into what people say long?
      All I did was point out what will happen if you're caught running this kind of power without a license in America because I've seen it happen to other people. Nothing more, nothing less. I didn't say I liked it or disliked it. It's the way it is. Read the last sentence of my post again if you have no problem feeling like a fool and/or being embarrassed at what you say. A guilty conscience needs no accuser, so I'm guessing you're running a pirate? I don't care what the hell you do, pal, so have fun when the Federal marshals show up at your door in the black Tahoe, confiscate your equipment, and the NOUO comes in the mail. It's *your* 10 grand, not mine.

      +wannawatchu66 Thank you for the information that you have contributed, sir. You are absolutely right about the legalities of the intending process in the US. You know, surprisingly, these days, some manufacturers are making condenser mics that look like dynamic mics. I mean to say, they have the same body form as that of dynamic mics. I ran across a few. I actually don't care for them. I guess, I like the body of the traditional condenser mics, if I can say that. I'm not sure what type of mic she is using though. Having said all that, this was a fabulous presentation. She was excellent in covering in detail the process. Five stars and two thumbs up. Now, if only it was legal for us here in the US and I suppose the cost of all this is a pretty penny too for the average hobbyist. Nevertheless, great video, Hong and thanks again, wannawatchu66.

      OMG, Javad, I didn't notice your comment, sorry for that! Well, if you would like to use any broadcast equipment to cover FM frequency whole of your country, sure we can help, can I have your work email so that I can contact you? Or, could you please contact me in Whatsapp/Wechat: +86 18319244009 or Email: zoey.zhang@fmuser.net
      By the way, the frequency covering depends on whether the RF channels (like 98Mhz or 97.9Mhz, etc) are occupied. Theorotically speaking, you can use any frequency channel if it was legal in your country.

    Just a comment on the audio processor. This is not a true broadcast limiter. It is designed for audio work, recording, sound reinforcement etc. There is a lot more to processing an FM signal than what this unit can do, so it will not be effective. It is better than nothing, but it is not designed for on-air processing. Proper processors like the Deva, Orban Optimod, Omnia 6 FM, Innovonics David IV, Wheatstone FM-55 etc are what should be used. I am a radio broadcast engineer.

      Hi, McArthur, thanks for the comment! Actually this a tutorial video shoot in our office for beginners and it was made a very long time ago, and yes the transmission equipment and radio studio equipment are legal, the FM radio transmitter used in this video didn't connect to an antenna or a dummy load, so I guess it is legal? All these equipment are produced for a 350W FM radio station though.

      The mixer shown in this video won't allow it. You need a mixer that has a mic tally output. It switches a relay when the mic is on and also mutes the studio speakers so you don't get feedback. This video is very misleading for many reasons. It's only done to sell their products.

    Did the lady say 50 watts...or 350 watts output on that transmitter? If she said 350, man...we are talking serious range! I doubt that anybody in the US could buy anything over 5 watts from a reputable dealer without a FCC CP to start or modify facilities...and that's past FCC R&R Part 15 power. Even transmitter exciters usually max at 55 watts.

    • @ApartmentKing66
      @ApartmentKing66 Pƙed 9 lety +1

      Lamba Struja An audio processor, depending on which one you use, enables you to tailor your station's audio quality. If you like a lot of bottom end, or crispness in your sound, or both, you can set the processor accordingly. Also, good processors have compression and limiting, which are worth their weight in gold because they minimize things you don't want, like distortion. But then, even a high-end processor (like an Optimod) can only do so much. If you run really hot levels and your audio comes out of the board distorted, your audio will be distorted. You may not *hear* the distortion, but if you put the audio on an oscilloscope, you'll see it.

    350w? (more like 100 if you're lucky) of sproggy nasty output. Chinese TX's are notoriously bad and usually use the same chip as an MP3 FM cheapo transmitter for the frequency generation and stereo encoding, all that crap is then amplified (unfiltered) and causes havoc when it leaves the antenna.

      +TheOptimod Right...NO harmonic filtering, NO bandpass filtering, NO frequency stabilization circuits-you may hear yourself 4 or 5 places on the FM band! NOT GOOD...

    This video should be titled 'How to Quickly Get an Rather Unfortunate Surprise Visit from the FCC' because the instructions in this video straightaway promotes illegal operations within the FM broadcast band at grossly excessive power output levels. Secondly this video fails to address the importance of audio processing so as to have control of modulation and loudness levels for the transmitter. This puts the user at risk of causing splatter and very harmful interference to other channels across the band as well as into other devices. Hobby broadcasting is a privilege granted by the FCC and other authorities abroad that is not to exceed a very low power level and any broadcaster has the responsibility to ensure any FM signal they are generating is clean and within authoritative parameters and guidelines.

      Wow, your ideas are so constructive, thanks for that, we'll try to fix that! For this video, we would more like demonstrate to some of our customers on how to simply build THEIR stations with our equipment, especially for the customers from the non-FCC countries. As for the FCC areas, we do know that (and thanks for reminding again) the transmitter output power restrictions, that's probably why we didn't mention "In Every Country" in the title. Anyway, thanks for your comments, we will be promoting our content!

    don't you need to pay for the radio channel and approved by the FCC before you even set it up? I heard it's in thousands of dollars before you're allowed a 1 hour of radio channel time and it depends how many people you wanted to reach in your county or town.

      @@fmuserbroadcast In the United States there are no "different rules in different areas". You are either licensed for operation by the FCC or you are going to be visited and fined heavily if not arrested. We spent over a quarter of a million dollars to get ours on the air. It's not cheap nor as easy as this video makes it out to be. To my friends in the USA... do not do this.

      @@wsvmradio6875 Hi WSVM Radio, this is Ray Chan! First of all, thank you for your comment and your valuable sharing about FCC, this helps us a lot to improve our CZcams video quality, sincerely appreciate it! But it has to be mentioned that since there are many countries and areas in the world that are not under the jurisdiction of the FCC, the broadcasting rules and the familiarity with broadcasting knowledge there are not as perfect as your country. And that's exactly why we're trying to help people from these countries solve some of the real problems they often face of. Maybe it's because we didn't mention what you said in the video (MY BAD), we are still constantly improving the quality of our videos to meet the needs of people all over the world! Finally, thank you again for your valuable sharing and have a nice day, WSVM Radio!
